- "Does home have to be a country or a city?... Or is home this house or that? We have been fortunate.... We seemed always to have been home."
- Wang Gungwu
Wang Gungwu, award-winning historian and author, has held positions in universities around the world, from London and Cambridge to Kuala Lumpur, Canberra, Hong Kong and Singapore.
'Home is Where We Are' is the second volume of his memoirs, written with his late wife Margaret Wang, that continues the very personal story begun in the first volume of his memoirs, 'Home is Not Here'.
Hear from special guests sharing their memories of the University of Malaya and Prof Wang Gungwu's contributions over the years in this special book launch event.
This event is co-organised by NUS Press and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and was live streamed on Facebook on 20 October 2020.

Here's wishing you the best of health

Why Margaret? You're supposed to be a world-eminent defender of Chinese culture but your wife discarded her Chinese name to assume an English name. Chinese aping the west
You are aware that in this part of the world, various forces have been at work and impinge on personal decisions, and religion is one.
You may see yourself as a defender while others see themselves as beacons of light to enlighten others about China for a better understanding. So do respect personal decisions of others.
