    Program Notes:
Joaquin Turina’s Piano Trio op. 76, no. 2 consists of three movements. The piece was written in Spain in 1933 and was inspired by French impressionistic composers who are said to have previously been influenced by earlier Spanish composers - A rondo of taken material. The first movement is an evocative conversation written in sonata form following the mysterious mirage-like intro. Each theme plays off each other to create a melodic masterpiece. The second movement is characterized by intricate rhythm and meter giving it a light and airy quality.
