Keep in mind, that league players used to be fucking horrible compared to now. Think about Lee sin insec. When it first happened it was one of the most hype moments of league history. Now if you can’t do one you are a bad Lee sin. Faker honestly was playing league years ahead of everyone else that’s why he was so dominant

Plus at 2015 (which i think was his peak at performance) there was a lot of good players around.
The difference between 2015 players and today players is that theres a lot of guides and information to improve coming from the top players and ex-pros.
So ofc the level its gonna improve over time specially for a game whose basic playstyle has remained unchanged for 10+ years.
@@Carlos-qg2me I think you gotta remember though that faker quite literally only had one mechanical equal in dopa, and even he wasnt as good as him overall. most people went into comp as midlaners and swapped off when they found out about faker, and only in the past couple years do we have people like chovy and knight and the like that can match him mechanically. Faker also has encylopedia buff lmao.
Imagine how difficult it is to lane against Faker.

I don't know about pro play but beating Faker in lane in SoloQ is probably only possible when he grows old and his reflexes decline
Ironically though, it's on SoloQ where you can beat Faker. He's not as oppressive as in his prime, and with no real communication with his team he can be swarmed and kill with no real loss.

in korean challenger matches, if the enemy team has 1 empty ban slot then there's a high chance you're up against Faker lol. Imagine what the enemy team would feel seeing an empty ban slot.
i still remember dopa prime era, he mastered soloQ the way faker mastered proplay, of course dopa tf is on a hole other level, but man i can never forget his fizz, dude was a beast

Faker also has mad clicking skills, he could play ranked and alt tab to play another game while shifting his vision throughout the map and scoreboard, simultaneously. How his brain multi-tasks and processes all of this in a split second is wild.
He's also considered 'old' (approaching 30) in the esports world, but still pretty untouchable. The only other player who can come close to challenging Faker is pretty much Dopa.
Funny how people will rate Dopa higher than Chovy, when chovy is better in soloq and nationally, but fails short internationally. While dopa is just a soloq hero. Actually crazy how the mind of some people works.

Faker gapped every single oponent in lane so far, he even went up close to 2k gold vs chovy while his team was losing and destroyed Scout and Knight wich are the 3 most hyped midlaners of the turnament and he won even countermatchups against them

The biggest enemy of a pro player is not age or injury, it is the patch. How many world championship winners have we seen over the last ten years that deteriorated after just one patch? Where are the likes of Doinb, zeka, rookie now? Only one player and one player alone stood the test of all the patches, stayed on top of them and competed at the highest level nonetheless. That player is Faker, people simply do not understand how great he is, how much better he is compared to the competition. People do not even the slightest idea.
Considering he's also the oldest adds up that fact even more

I once watched a game between T1 and some streamers, the 2 most faqs from the streamers are 1: How do we gank Faker and 2: How is he not dead?
It's not just the mechanics that make Faker so good, but his overall knowledge of the game. I've seen many times on T1 comms videos him calling out the exact second someone's flash or ult will be back up and if they use it how long it's down for. Incredible stuff

Hard to say but prob ur jungler must help you to push the wave, since its freeze and slow pushing towards faker but its dangerous because u share too much xp and ur jungler loses path timing and objetives prio

Yeah, the goal is to not be in this situation in the first place. High elo coaches often vod review only the first 5-10 minutes, cause that's where the game is decided. It's the small wins in early trades that snowball into a 20/1 Yone top.
It's also the same reason why a player who went 1/8 in their first game can go 10/1 in another. It's just a huge snowball effect (until they make a mistake and lose their lead).

0:42 I have so many questions about his thought process here. Did he think it would kill? Did he know it would take him over the wall, because that looks like max range. Did he know it would be so close? There's just no way he knew all these events would play out how they did. I think he knew the fight was winnable, but no way did he 100% expect to win that, there's no one who could calculate all that. Which just leaves me with another question. Why does he risk this all in? It seems like a really unnecessary risk here, but he's Challenger and I'm not so obviously it made sense to him. I just wish I understood this stuff like they do.
