I used to have this movie taped from this same network broadcast off of KATU-2 in Portland, O R, before my then 11 year old self knew MUCH better than to watch TV edits of theatrical movies, but at the same time, I am kind of grateful I watched and taped it when I did for TV history's sake, because...
...this would be the final Sunday that ABC would ever be watchable outside of the next 20-ish years of the Oscars, before no later than the following Friday, March 5, 1998, they became the last of the big six commercial networks to keep their logo bug onscreen for the WHOLE show instead of just the first 5 seconds of a segment! I have never returned to TV since the end of 1999 when our local PBS(!) station started doing the same thing (my only exceptions were the 2009 analog shutdown and the last day of Saturday morning cartoons in 2014... both of which hardly went down with any class) - to this day it bothers me how this goshawful practice continues to be tolerated by both viewers and those involved in the production of TV shows.
It it all now a consistent breaking of the fourth wall - they are all dead to me.
