    Striped layering is a unique way to layer with multiple colors without having to cut each color of vinyl separately. Learn how Amy cuts, weeds, and applies her butterfly image is a few simple steps. This method of layering works for adhesive and heat transfer vinyl.

    Your videos are so helpful. Is there an easy way to make a rainbow?

      Hi, you could just lay the strips in the color order that you wanted. If you wanted more shape (circular) shape to them then you will need to do more cutting and piecing which may make it a little difficult. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Hi. Thanks for this fantastic video. CRAFTERS NEVER WASTE. A great way to make use of scraps.
    I've got a question for you. I am a proud owner of a HUMBLE PORTRAIT2. Will the blade get caught where the vinyl joins? 😟
    Thanks for sharing and caring. 👍👍👍💕

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  Před 6 lety

      Hi, as long as you have everything adhered down the blade will not get caught. We have done a lot of these and haven't had a problem yet.

      Hi this was done on a Silhouette mat but you can follow the exact same process for a Cricut. It will work great.

    I love your video but am new and I have a problem when to mirror a design and how to place the vinyl on the mat .is there newby video from ev that would help me. Love this technique. Do you mirror this one?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  Před 6 lety

      Hi Debbie, if you are using heat transfer vinyl or iron on vinyl then yes, you would want to mirror your image. All the heat transfer vinyl that we carry has a clear cover to it. You will face that down on the cutting mat. The other side is actually the adhesive. It doesn't activate until you add heat to it. Hopefully this helps a little. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Hello love this technique. Do you have any trouble with the stripes of the vinyl coming apart or sticking when cutting?

  • @danafaucette7554
    @danafaucette7554 Před 6 lety

    Would this work with adhesive vinyl?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  Před 6 lety +2

      Hi Dana, yes it would. Just apply the strips to your mat, you wouldn't need to worry about the carrier sheet. Once you have cut them, keep them right on the mat to weed. After you have weeded your image then apply the transfer tape so that nothing is out of place. Hopefully this helps.
