  • Ever seen a McDonnell Douglas MD-80 take flight? This plane spotting session at Long Beach Airport (LGB) is packed with awesome aircraft, including a RARE MD-81 (you won't see these much longer!) ⏰
Here's what you'll see in the video:
Southwest 737 MAX in the stunning Canyon Blue livery (0:13)
Air Canada Jetz A320 with a special Toronto Maple Leafs NHL theme! 🇨🇦 (1:48)
Hawaiian Airlines A321 ready for some island hopping (2:51)
More Southwest action with a Nevada One 737 (4:32)
Delta surprises us with TWO Anaheim Ducks NHL charters on 757s (6:38 & 8:44)
A NOAA Gulfstream IV on a scientific mission (8:09)
But the STAR of the show is definitely the Detroit Red Wings' McDonnell Douglas MD-81! This hometown-built beauty is a rare sight these days. (10:23) This is only the second time I've ever spotted one!

I flew on the MD80s as late as 2008. It's an interesting experience, especially in the back. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I unknowingly sat in a Flight Attendant's seat on the way back from one Island to another in Hawaii. This was as far back as you could sit,she didn't mind, we just talked until we landed.lol@@aviationwithjeff

    You should do Ontario Airport

Ontario is a bit too far for me and I never have reason to go there. But if I ever do make it out there, I'd like to go spotting.

Meh, MD-80 just has a little more thunder then a run of the mill 737NG or MAX. Sounded about the same as the Gulfstream IV.
Not even a comparison to the mighty ZeroG 727 that’s for damn sure!
