- Well I am finally ready to show you the garden room, it's nearly finished but I had to show you the work so far. I am really pleased with the result of our hard work (especially Hubby) I have kept the budget very low in total less than $100 and that's including all the items I have thrifted and used over the last few months.

I have said this many times, your creativity is just amazing. I don’t know how you come up with so many ideas. I look at something and see junk, you see a garden room, crowns and a hot air balloon! Also, you are extremely lucky to have a husband who is willing and able to make what you envision a reality. Everything turned out so cute, I love it!

You have such a talent for creating cozy rooms!!! To keep mosquitoes sneaking in the holes where the door knobs were, maybe decoupage a couple of old Christmas ornaments with some of your pretty papers or some moss to make a new old door knob. I thought the hot air balloon looked terrific! The space is just magical with the fairy lights on. I’m ready for a nap on the daybed!

This is just darling! So comfy & cozy! You've got so many different colors/patterns (which I know is English cottage) but it all works so well & is not overwhelming and/or busy. Love the darling crown (what a cute idea!!!) and that balloon!!! I know it didn't turn out how you wanted or liked, but it was absolutely darling & am looking forward to seeing how you changed it up.

I have a suggestion for you. Make an ottoman for the daybed using a coffee table, padding the top. It will make it more comfortable to sit on and can hold a tray for your drink!!

I hope you got a building permit.
I did a similar thing a few years ago attaching it to the house by a roof frame like you did and i guess the county sends out code enforcers to troll neigborhoods and one day a YEAR after i put it up (just a tiny potting area with pavers for a floor) i get a knock at my door. I was given a citation and fined $1000 for building a structure without a permit. I was told that it had to be taken down and then if i wanted to build anything i needed to apply for a permit, which involved an inspector to come out and approve the plans to be sure they met code. on top of that it costs 50$ to get the permit!
so if you are in America check with your state codes to save you having to tear it all down and a heafty fine.
I have to add....that i am still fuming that i am not free to do with and on my own property whatever i wish. it was not like i built onto the house with electric or plumbing.. it was a lean to held up by our roof that gave me a covered place to work on my plants ...it didnt even have real walls...just sheets of plastic .

See you start out saying you’re going to have this little room with these doors and blah blah blah and then all of a sudden it has a roof and it’s a lot bigger and your husband helped you and you’ve got all the help you need because you’ve got somebody to do it for you and you can just sit back and watch. No wonder it was fun. You didn’t do anything you just watched. Let me tell you something Single pet people don’t have husbands. Can’t do this. All they can do is dream about it because I can’t lift 2 x 4 over my head 12 feet in the air by myself and I can’t afford to pay someone to do it so this is just a pipe dream for me. Happy Mother’s Day. I’m glad somebody gets to have a great Mother’s Day and enjoyed their new little room.
