Borderlands 2 | Lord of the Rings Easter Egg | Long run to Geary and 3 Free Chests

- Quick Tutorial on How to Perform the Lord of the Rings Easter Egg on Borderlands 2
As soon as you get to Eridium Blight in the Main Story mode this easter egg will be activated. Basically a small Gear item will spawn in the fire place at Claptraps place in windshear Waste.
Return to Claptraps place and pick up this gear. Then all you have to do is travel by foot to the top of the Volcano in Eridium Blight and meet up with a guy called Geary who will Walk up to you and hit you then proceed to jump into the lava/ Once he does the challenge is complete and you will be rewarded with 3 Red Chests brought to you by 3 flying Raak.
Rules
1- You must Make your Way all the way there by foot. Running, grenade jumping, Rocket jumping are all aloud
2- You can not travel by car
3- You can not Fast Travel
4- If you die you must start again
If you get all the way there and geary does not hit you and jump into the lava you must have done something wrong. Quit out and restart the whole thing again

Five years have passed since the events of Borderlands, when four Vault Hunters, a Hunter, a Soldier, a Siren and a Berserker, were guided by a mysterious entity known as "The Guardian Angel" to the Vault and confronted an alien abomination known as "The Destroyer". After defeating The Destroyer, a valuable mineral called "Eridium" started flourishing through Pandora's crust. Handsome Jack, a member of the Hyperion Corporation, secures this new resource and makes use of it to take over the corporation. Now, Handsome Jack rules over the inhabitants of Pandora with an iron fist from his massive satellite built in the shape of an "H", always visible in the sky in front of Pandora's moon. Meanwhile, rumors of an even larger Vault hidden on Pandora spread across the universe, drawing a new group of Vault Hunters to the planet in search for it.

The middle chest is actually always guaranteed to have blue or higher rarity gear in it, which I guess makes it a bit more worth it because it sort of makes it so that you will never get crappy gear, unless if you've farmed for a bunch of legendaries or whatever in that case its probably not worth your time any ways.
Brenden Gilvear nah its not really worth the time to farm it for but its definitely a really cool easter egg. I love these types of easter eggs where its not just something to look at you have to take part in it and get some loot out of it at the end. One of the best for sure :D
I did this, while not using a car, fast-travel, or dying. I got to Geary, and he hit me. he didn't die in the lava
InfamousWisdom hmmm that's really strange it should have worked. Must have bugged out maybe try again if you can be bothered lol
00TheMessiah00 Thanks for writing back, but I figured it out. When I got to Eridium Blight, I turned left, but the bridge wasn't fixed, or was destroyed.
you can do it with cars but you can't teleport to the car from the spawn of the vehicle. spawn the vehicle, back out and then walk to the car

it works you should try it without a vehicle the 1st time and try vehicle the 2nd time

yeh there is another chest up there too. Its in my Chest location guides but didn't cover it in this vid was purely just showing the easter egg chests but I could have just noted that in at the end come to think of it lol

What happens of you already tried it and it didn't work. I have already retrieved the gear from Claptrap's place before.
SpeiderProductions it should respawn every time you visit after you save and quit out come back in and it should be there

You can go in vehicles I did and it worked
trevon morales yeh you probably can but sometimes it doesn't work. Its supposed to but sometimes being in a vehicle can stop this from working must be a small bug in the game now and again that stops this happening so to be safe I ran the whole way lol
