All you need to know is....he's live with just a 3 piece band...that's it. I saw him live in October. He dismissed the band halfway through and did 3 songs with just him and his guitar. Two of my favorite Chris Stapleton songs are quieter songs and they are just as impactful and they are whiskey and you and death row and they will both put you in your feels😊😊😊😊

His wife sings harmonies w/him on it! His studio versions are great but it’s just something about him LIVE! He lets loose! He is a 1 in a million natural talent. He writes all his songs unless occasional cover. He makes you feel every word in your soul!! He’s a living Legend!

You need to watch (if you haven't already), "Tennessee Whiskey" (Austin City Limits); and, "Cold" (CMA Awards, 2021) preferably in that order. His wife Morgane, sings with him in Tenn. Whiskey and she's wonderful in her own right. Mind blowing. Truly. Love your show!

If you never listened to country music and decided to start based on Stapleton you'll be very disappointed. Stapleton isn't country, he's literally an equal mix of blues and soul.

The person that told you to listen to "Death Row" is correct; but I would ask you to listen to the studio recording. The live version loses some of the feels because you miss the nuanced background noises that help to give the real picture of the song. Because of the crowd noise the subtilties of the background sounds are lost.
