So I took my daughter fishing this past sunday and she found a Kershaw assisted opening tanto blade knife like brand new and we caught a ton of fish Great day !👍🏻

leeks always had that lock. we used to take them off immediately back in the day. the one you're holding is constructed exactly like the one I bought like 10 years ago that my dad later stole and still uses from time to time. a ton of assisteds had locks, my sog aegis had one, I think the flash had one as well.
The Leek is classic, and very tempting in Magnacut, but I've grown out of assisted opening. I couldn't resist the Heist in S35vn for $99. I'm even more psyched for it now that you've shown the texture on the G10 and the fact that it's got a righty landing pad. Btw, the Leek has always had that lock, you can lock the knife closed for storage/transport. That particular model is made to emulate mint chocolate chip 😂.
A lot of the older Kershaws came tip up with no way to swap.
I had a Chive I gave a friend probably 10 years ago that had that little tip lock.
I have the blur took the spring out light detent but its soooo smooth and its a fidget dream now ...wonder if the leek would work without it😊
I carry a Leek in a kydex neck sheath, it's only 14c28n, but a great knife. Thanks for sharing, be safe.
The Leek is Made in USA, the blade lock has been around for a while.
The lock for the blade is a Kershaw regular as they have it on other models! I’m not a Leek fan but that one is interesting! That other one is badass and I may have to pick one up!
I've had a Leek in 14c28n for years. Tip up lock removed. Speedsafe is not my favorite but it's done well here

The leek was the knife that got me into the hobby. It was the one everyone said you had to have. I hated it 😂. Realized instantly I don't like assisted.

I'm kind of wondering why they don't just transfer all their lock bars to being made in the US but I guess they want to have lower price points for different for the options.
I think Kershaw changed China companies about the time when they released the Tumbler

I think the leek can be a great knife. I own one, but won’t buy another because they upgrade everything but that awful pocket clip.
Sucks they don’t make the leek none assisted. Kershaw is a hard pass because most of their knives are assisted

I had to grab the Heist once I saw it was cpm s35vn when I got the email. Well worth it vs the original version. As you've shown, it is so much smoother.
