August 30 - Pikkie Greef, National Secretary of the South African National Defence Union, discusses the role of snipers in armed conflict and how a South Africa sharpshooter in the DRC may have joined the ranks of the world's elite snipers...with a kill shot from over 2 kilometers away.

A very good shot in anyone`s language. A British S.A.S Sniper took out a truck that was going to be used as a suicide bomb, along with it`s two human targets at a range of 1.5 miles (2.414 km) using a Barrett light fifty.
0:27 I would never want to mess with that guy. He legit looks scary AF. Respect.

Yeah but he looks scary
@@eskaban_edits_beats_and_more There is a reason why humans can perceive something as scary or not scary. Its based on primitive instincts, a byproduct of our evolution. Yes, in the age of modern firearms, this is outdated. I know of people who look like they wouldn't hurt a fly but are actually convicted of egregious crimes. That said, its still a byproduct of evolution that will stick with us for quite a while.

I'm a reasonable shot - earnt some medals at Bisley and missed the Queen's Medal (Top 100 of Brit Armed forces) by 1 round & 3 rounds in 2 successive years. Perhaps I could get into the record books by being in the top 10,000th longest sniper shot?

***** I respectfully disagree with your list. My list is much better.
1) Simo Hayha aka "the White Death" (505 conf. kills in 100 days, a Finnish farmer armed with only a mosin nagant)
2) Carlos Hathcock (93 con. kills in vietnam, shot record of 2286 meters stood for 35 years)
3) Francis Pegahmagabow (canadian, most confirmed kills in ww1)
4) Craig Harrison (Longest shot in history, 2475 meters. Landed the 3 shots consecutively)
5) Lyudmila Pavlichenko (309 Nazi killed, even more impressive considering shes female)
Honourable mentions:Vasily Zaytsev, Chris Kyle, Rob Furlong, Adelbert Waldron
I would put Chris Kyle on the top five but otherwise good list

often by recon guys or friendlies informants who are much closer or some intel guy who is watching for patterns of behavior, then notifying when the intended target will show up to guys placed well back so as not to draw attention to their position.

a lot of "dont talk crap" going on here, those are people who have no idea of what it takes to do that. or cant get close maybe to those distances. the new record was set at 3,540 m!!! yet another Canadian(unamed at the time, think now still). june 2017. they "own 3 of the five top shots/longest in history.
the bullet took 10 seconds to reach its target at a speed of 792 mph.....1,274,56 km/h. it is a McMillan TAC-50 rifle from an elevated position. he killed an ISIS militant. the company says its effective range is half that distance for the ave person(ok above ave shooter,so yes you have to be good to do it first)
US Navy Seals use this gun,as do French Navy Commandos, spec ops in Turkey,Georgia, SOUTH AFRICA,Jordan,Israel and Philippines.
so we do know things like the spotter(huge part of the equation),weather, ballistics of the round used, even the earths curvature with the drop of the bullet as well. so to answer none believers, yes it is entirely possible and has been proven so in combat.
So do the Brits check it out

CZcams Algorithm, you alright?
Thumbs down for clickbait
Only impressive to those who have no understanding for marksmanship and external ballistics. Today’s very low drag bullets can get to great distances nose-on before they loose enough velocity to cause erratic flight leading to the bullet tumbling end over end; thus. a marksman who can factor for wind, slope of land, and target distance will get hits on on a 20 in wide target consistently from a .5 MOA accurate rifle/ammo combination out to about 2000 yards in ideal conditions. Hits at greater distances are anomalies or just pure luck as a tumbling bullet will ultimately strike something. The bottom line is this: at 4000 yards .5 minute of angle accuracy is about 20 inches so a hit at such distance would require a no-wind or prevailing wind condition. since just a 4 mph cross wind would move bullet impact about 5 feet based on the bullet having a remaining wind constant of 10 at 4000 yards.

Using a highly advanced weapons system does not entitle anyone to any records, learn to shoot without a rifle that does 90% of the work for you.
