  • Tolo is a Greek Beach resort, Quiet in the Winter, packed in the Summer.
Located 2 hours from Athens, and 15 minutes from Nafplio, it is very popular with Greek tourists, being easily accessible for a weekend or longer.

There is a harbour which plays host to tourist sail boats travelling the Aegean in the summer. It also has a ferry which takes trips to the Greek Islands of Spetses and Hydra. Spetses was the location for some of the shots in the Glass Onion, the latest Knives out mystery starring Daniel Craig.
The natural harbour is apparently amazing for Scuba Diving, with the seabed littered with wrecks from the last 2000 years, and many accessible caves also there for exploring. The waters are calm, safe and clear.
as well as diving, sailing and the beach there are also water-sports available in the summer months, including water skiing and banana boating.

Nice tour. Went there many many times in my childhood and youth. Bobs Taverna was our regular. So much so they let me and a friend stay with them for a month one year. My friend lives in Athens now!

There are so many good places to visit round there, and Tolo is great when it is full of people in the summer. Thank you for your comment!

Hi Andrew nice video, we're just a kilometer from Tolo in Asini. We're in the middle of a major reno and coming along nicely. If you're still in the area maybe we can have that coffee, let me know.🙂

Took the whole family to Greece last spring, including Athens, Nafplio, Santorini, Rhodes (and then Istanbul). Planning another trip next spring thanks to some unused travel credits, a leftover from the pandemic. The thing is, my young adult kids are most keen to return to Nafplio! I heartily agree, and will definitely going to be checking out Tolo, thanks to your wonderful review. Many thanks!

1:27 Apparently not the Trojan army. That was the Achaean (Greek) fleet. And equally important, that Asini was not the beach from where the Achaean fleet sailed towards Troy. That beach is called Avlida. It is in the prefecture-district of Boeotia, in central Greece. Same district as where the ancient city of Thebes is. Next to the prefecture of Attica, where Athens is. So nothing to do with the Peloponnese. Avlida is where king Agamemnon of Mycenae and leader of the campaign, sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia, in order for the wind to blow and the fleet to be able to sail.
Homer indeed refers to Asini, in the Iliad, but only once. He simply includes it in the list of ships that comprised the fleet. As one of the many places that joined the campaign. Homer also states that its ships were under the command of the renowned king of Argos, Diomedes.
Tolo is pronounced with the tone on the second "o".

The sad truth about all Greek summer resorts is that they are very boring off-season. Only misinformed tourists go there in winter. 😃
