- Construction is a major cause of pollution, both in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and waste creation. Technology design group Mogu is working on a green alternative, partnering with nature to grow biodegradable interior design materials.
Mogu collaborated with engineering company Arup to develop building materials, like acoustic panels and floor tiles, grown from mycelium. Mycelium, the systems of root-like fibers that supplement most types of fungus, colonizes organic waste and turns it into exceptional and sustainable designs.

Allergic reaction from mushrooms come from spores. Mycelium or mycelial mat DOESNT have spores.

I'm trying to make lightweight structural materials so that we can make life size or near life size Gundams that can support their own weight. you think coating this stuff in carbon fiber kevlar would be enough? either way more to the point how would I start doing this at home?
