I have to make a confession. I bought a knife based on one of your reviews. Don't roll your eyes yet 😉 My decision making process behind the purchase was, that I watched many of your reviews on knives that I already owned before that. When you came up with the review on the Fox Ryu, it clicked a button. So I gave it a shot and I wasn't disappointed. The thing is - many of the blades that you review and that I'm interested in are only available online to me. I HAVE to go with second hand information and the numbers presented online. I don't have friends that own knives I would be interested in - that limits personal experiences with blades I would like to check out next to zero. The highest virtue of this channel is honesty and authenticity - I never got the impression that you're trying to sell something to me - that's why I value your reviews and take them into serious consideration. That might end up in buying something what I don't like as much as expected but that's on me and I'm willing to take the risk.

And I have knives from lots of different makers. Production and custom. But those days are gone. And I have more important things to think about now. I do have a “favorite” knife company, because I’ve been able to get to know the fellas that run it. (You might know who that is). They make hundreds of different knives, but more than half of them I don’t like at all. Because for me, the aesthetic value supersedes everything but dependability. I can say there are lots of knives in your videos that I would love to have. (Mostly from WT 😉) but I don’t have the budget any more, and I already have every knife I could possibly need.
Every company sells their own product at a marked up MSRP . Who doesn’t know this in 2024? Hell most em tell you right on their website to go to a reputable dealer .

I supported Guy early on …before he sold knives back when he would post questions and test steels. Let them rust outside for months etc. Then he made a knife I wanted ..the original GSO10….I ordered one…excuse after excuse, including watching them move. I stuck with them, I waited years. I all but gave up…wrote the money off. 8 years later…8 years .. I get an email saying my knife was shipping …was my address accurate. He did come through I have my knife and sheath. Not the original design by any stretch and it was now 3V steel. But I have it ….i’d never buy one direct again..what’s that worth to a company.

Re the cold steel thing.. Its OBVIOUS to not buy from a MFG !! They push to their Distributors because they buy them in Bulk and increase revenue!! SOME plain ole WONT sell to you and if they will they are going to over charge you intentionally

You can easily tell who the sale men in the community are. all one has to do is open the description and if it has a list of all the knife sites with links then its pretty obvious those are sales men.. hey that's what they want to do then ok. but i could not honestly know i could trust what they are saying about a product. but it is clear your not a sales man.. I supported Guy early on …before he sold knives back when he would post questions and test steels. Let them rust outside for months etc. Then he made a knife I wanted ..the original GSO10….I ordered one…excuse after excuse, including watching them move. I stuck with them, I waited years. I all but gave up…wrote the money off. 8 years later…8 years .. I get an email saying my knife was shipping …was my address accurate. He did come through I have my knife and sheath. Not the original design by any stretch and it was now 3V steel. But I have it ….i’d never buy one direct again..what’s that worth to a company.

I am not a huge serrations guy however, I do like cold steel serrations. I like it when they serate the whole blade.. I have a CPL done that way
Cold Steel , being a manufacturer doesn't want to be in any a competitor to make a sell with distributors.
