A primary Raag of the Kaafi Thaat, depicting "karun Ras", melancholy and devotion are the two main emotions that can be evoked through this raag.
'Binati suno mori' in Jhaptaal ( 10 beat cycle) is a song of request and surrender. The intonation of the komal gandhaar and komal nishaad depicts the waiting of a lover or a devotee.
A sense of isolation and hopeful union is what the Raag speaks of. The two bandishes 'Dheer raise dharoon' and 'Anchara na dharo' both in Ektaal, portray these emotions very effectively.
