Part of that was due to Karon taking good care of him and forcing him to eat nutritiously (he didn't always comply), to exercise and stay in shape. If you compare earlier pictures of Marty, he did seem to slim down a bit later in his life. His genuine love of life also helped contribute to his boundless energy, plus, he was wired that way. He didn't seem to have an "off" switch. When you love what you're doing, it keeps you youthful in spirit and that helps keep you younger in body. It's all interconnected. Age is really only a number.
Is this date wrong? The Nat King Cole show referenced in one of the jokes was only on 1956-1957, no? Unless there's another layer to that joke I'm not getting....
I'll bet a lot of girls were mad about both of them. Marty had been happily married since 1960, and I assume was off limits. I don't know Steve's status at that time. If he had been available, I would lay my money on Marty having gotten the most chicks. But neither of them would have been lonely for very long. They were a very appealing pair.
mrzoperxplex 🚨Didnt last long you say? I just watched Jerry Jerry Lewis tribute to them and he said that they were around 25 years. probably longer actually😵 that's two and a half times longer then Martin and Lewis. 😒Albert Einstein you're no rocket scientist!😱💣
This never ceases to be funny. Every time I watch it, it's funny. Classic humor -- simple, relatable, silly, lovable.
Wow, some great dancing from Marty!!! Such a simple line "Hello dere" but I still remember it over 50 years later!
Marty, you're the epitome of cuteness.
"Hello Dere" was a major catch phrase.
RIP Marty Allen....just watched a great episode of "The Big Valley" he guest started in!
Titled “Jonah.”
Marty Allen was still performing when he was 89! Amazing.

So long, Marty and Steve. We loved ya!
We loved ya madly ,,,,,Steve and Marty,,,!!!
Couldn't stand them. Still not funny 60 years later.
LOVED? Past tense? We STILL love them both.
@@DerBingle1 If you can't stand them, why are you watching this?
Wow, that last Russian dance move was spectacular! He retained it for so long, with such precision!
I can't believe anybody has not made a comment about Allens dance moves at the end. That's what they do today and everybody goes crazy over.
RIP Marty ... Goodbye dare...
It's terrific even hearing the cameraman laugh around 1:15
Rest in peace mr. Allen.
Shirley'sBoy4ever, they don't make them like him any more. RIP Mr. Allen.
@@margaretjones4682 He would still want you to call him Marty. That's just how he was.
Live was good.
RIP mr. Rossi
one wonders how come Marty is so pudgy when he can do that wild acrobatic dance number!!
Yes a great duo. Funny
Fun. There are a couple of quite risqué moments for '64 in there, if you listen closely enough. CuffColl.

mewmew32 In fact the date listed here would be hardly a month after Cole's death, I think that would be in pretty poor taste...
Cole was hosting the Hollywood Palace episode this clip was taken from.
@@mewmew32 The episode is from March 21, 1964. Cole died February 15, 1965.
Rowlf the Dog would stop after 3.
Came here from Gilbert Gottfried's podcast.
Which one?

I wonder which one got the most chicks?

Well I suppose this is funny-in 1964...
M CK well why don't you stick with cartoons
These two did not last long.

@@thegringobandito6346 thank you for saying this.
This is the kind of schlock "comedy" that Carlin and Pryor destroyed - forever.
