Back in 2008, I went to an Evanescence concert. They had 2 opening acts that were roughly an hour each. I think it's quite normal to have it be that long.
MINI AJR FANNN?????? Good boy, AJR as superb, proud of you
He is the future Annetta for trumpet player 😂
It is so nice seeing you do things with your other children. I know personally know what it feels like to have a sibling with disabilities and need more attention and care, doing things with your ones that do not have the same ailments!! Keep it up this makes me so happy to see!
Only ever been to 1 concert and it was also a big band, all time low, and the tickets let you arrive in like this 2 hour window, you didn't have to go in and see the openers but you could ( especially if you wanted a good floor seat )
They were only three of them and they only did a handful of songs each it was probably only like an hour until the band came out. :)
I hope you all had an amazing time! Also yes that’s pretty average for concerts nowadays. However if you have seats and only care for the opening act you don’t have to arrive right on time, I only suggest arriving super early if you have pit tickets! 🤗
Hello sir I love your videos
Im going to FOB this summer, went to 2 other concerts, one of which was last year, and yes. They are like that. Arrived at 6 and got home at 12:30. Had school the next day.
Fall out boy?
@@the_influencer_council_leader Yup.
@@Dynxsty_OrFxte I love them also do you know ice nine kills or slipknot?
@@the_influencer_council_leader lol
It is normal nowadays for there to be opening acts. Usually it's 1 or 2 so 3 is it a bit longer. So glad y'all had a good time.
My first concert, I went there when doors opened so around 4-5 PM. We went to our seats by 7:30 and it started at 8:20. I stayed until almost 12 and it wasn't close to done lol. My aunt said "Oh my god really? 3 hours?' and. I thought it was the norm as it was my first.
I was happily stimming over the music in the background being AJR 😊❤
That's certainly on the longer side. Last concert I was at, the opening act was on for 1.5 to 2 hours then a small break then the main act was a similar length. If there were multiple openers then I'd've expected each to be on for less time
No way, my first concert was AJR! And it was a few weeks ago, AJR is amazing they are my favorite band!
omg my first concert was OK orchestra 😊
I'm happy you having one to one with our kids
I have noticed that when there are several opening acts, it is common that the main event does not begin until about eight or 9 PM. I think it is good to do a little research beforehand and find out if you want to see all of the opening acts.
I only have been to 1 concert and that wasn't until my mid 20s but that seems about the same experience I had. This was a punk concert in a smaller indoor venue but yes, the two openers took a little over an hour each before the main performance which lasted about 2 and a half hours
I was probably there for a total of 5 and a half hours
HOLY CRAP! I sat right across from you guys! That amazing concert so glad you guys went!
All depends most do start earlier for opening acts. Most of the time if you are not interested in seeing opening acts you can go in later
Omg i went to the OK orchestra concert it was amazing and I would love to go to another AJR concert in the future they have great music and it’s helped me through some tough times so glad you got to experience one of their concerts
My husband and i love several different genres of music rock, rap, hip hop, r&b, Spanish music and edm and we have been to well over 60 concerts, live shows and music festivals over the years and more recently the main acts don’t go on until around 9pm and the doors open depending on the number of opening acts. Earlier doors opening usually equals more opening acts 😁
I just went to a big concert and the opening acts lasted 3 hours. I think it is normal now. It is kind of annoying though because your not here to see the opening acts. It can still be good though
So I love converts!! I go all of the time! The answer is every concert is different. Some take half of a day while others only a few hours from opening act to encore. My best advice is to Google a set list before you go & you can better estimate what amount of time you’ll be busy!
I've been to many concerts recently and they are never this long
I went to AJR’s Newport, KY concert on 6/23/23. The show was supposed to start at 7, got there at 5:30 for pit tickets. Ended up getting front row, we got out of the concert at 11 that night,
They had two openers (Livingston & Lawrence.)
It took us ~6 hours
Yes it is a great place for you and your family
Oh my God, you are so lucky I love AJR probably my favorite band! I hope you had a lot of fun,💖💖
Expect ur kids to remember this for the rest of their lives!!
Yes
I go to concerts a lot, and that sounds a little long to me, but its not unheard of. most big acts have at least 2 openers, although recently I went to one that had none, which really threw me off lol! we are perpetually late so I count on those openers! I hope y'all had a great time, concerts are one of my most favorite things to do!
I LOVE AJR I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO A CONCERT
When I went to an AJR concert I waited for about 5 hours but it was absolutely worth it for the front row views
Yes. It is completely normal. I actually call the venue ahead of time to ask what time the main act takes the stage. If they can’t tell me, I ask how many openers and how long they are each slotted for. I’m always given that info and then I can estimate. I always shoot to give myself an extra hour or so to be in my seat for the main act to play it safe. But yeah unless I love an opener, no interest spending my entire afternoon and evening at the show!
So glad to see one of ur other kids and see u care about all ur kids not just griffin (this is not meant to be rude it's meant to be a compliment)❤
I WAS THERE!!!!! I was floor 1 standing and omg i was so close to themmmm!!!! HOPE HE LOVEE IT
Yes expect it to be an all day thing
I’ve been to quite a few concerts where you get there at seven and leave at midnight
I just went to an AJR concert in August. I dont think it is the new norm. There are opening acts that are usually 30 minutes, but there is usually never more than one. ( also AJR is my favorite band) 😊
You have an amazing sitter to handle all your kids’ needs :)
i go to a lot of concerts and i would say if you’re going to see a band or person that’s on the more popular side expect it to be a long concert, however if you’re seeing a person/band that’s smaller expect it to be shorter. For example i saw One Direction in 2011 and i was there for about 7 hours. I saw another bigger band a couple months ago and o was there for around 5 1/2 hours however the smaller bands i’ve seen tend to have 1 1/2 - 3 hour concerts at most. hope this helps! (excuse my punctuation i don’t understand it)
i know this is late but I was here and it was supposed to be more of a summer concert series mini festival type of thing. when ajr tours they’ve almost always had only the one opener with like a 40 minute set before them
I have been to see P!NK and it was 2 hrs maybe a little longer. I’m going to see her again in October 💗💕‼️
They usually tell you who will be opening for them.
Sometimes it’s a local act or a comedian.
But yes, most have a few opening acts.
Yes that is true
Usually they tell you when the band takes stage
All depends on if they have opening performers or not. If they do it’s usually a couple hours. If not it’s like 2 hours
This is pretty normal. The show doesn't start for ages and they go for many hours.
Yes you are
A few weeks ago i went to a babymetal concert there was 1 opening act of roughly 30 minutes it depends on what artist is playing and how many artists are playing
Yeah it's normal , I've been today at a concert and i spent like 8 hours there , because it's music and before the actual concert there are new bands
I went to a Louis Tomlinson concert almost a month ago, doors opened at 7 and he didnt preform until 9:30
People mostly got food, made friends, etc until they finally announced that he would come in 30min
Hey you got to see Em Beihold too, lucky!!
3 opening bands might be a bit more than usual, but 2 opening bands is very, very typical. A larger band like AJR frequently will bring a 3rd opening band. If you go to a smaller show (not a stadium show), there will likely be 2 opening bands, with 30 minutes in between each band. I hope you had a BLAST!! I go to over 20 concerts a year, and have so many fond memories of going to shows with my parents when I was young. I know your son will carry these memories with him for decades to come.
I’ve never been to a concert other than ajrs and the one I went to had 3 opening acts but then like a whole album and a few extras
That’s a long time! I’ve been to many concerts over the past 10 years and it’s never been that long waiting for the opening act.
Yes, I recently went to the Taylor swift eras tour in New York, that is exactly how it is now
I've only been to metal shows but the band I usually went to see definitely didn't come on for hours after the concert started
unrelated but i was there aswelll it was amazing!
I feel you when I went to ed Sheeran I waited 4 hours
I was there in Colorado
When I was in third grade I went to a concert. There was like 3 different singers before the one actually came out. And I passed out before he even got on stage. It was 12 am when he came out. I was so disappointed. I sat through like 2 people I didn’t even know and didn’t even get to see the singer we actually went for. And then he hasn’t came since then. Other than the rodeo. Which isn’t a concert. He just sings like 4 lines of a song then goes into the next song.
Yes it's normal
That's quite normal. There's always opening acts and they can be from an hour to 3.
I can’t I legit can’t I really wanted to go to one I’m a superfan
I’m going to see Ed Sheeran tonight and I’m purposely missing the opening act so I’m gonna have dinner first
I was actually there in the vip pit it’s Colorado Springs down town
I WAS THERE
It’s different for all artists for all the ones I have been to they had one opening act for roughly 30minutes to an hour
Yep I just got back from one
Also between each opening it took a LONG time each time. But it was worth waiting to see AJR (and Em Beihold but especially AJR). I am glad though that AJR's happened when it was dark enough to see the lighting and stuff but still they should have had something between each act instead of just playing like a radio with advertising.
Who were the opening acts? First one shown looks like Em Beihold
We genuinely had to leave, moms autism and ADHD was getting worse, we had to leave by the second em behold song 😭
I was here
it is
Yeah this is totally normal
No thats just how AJR does it i think I went to one to
BANG!
I get up I get down
And I’m jumping around
And the rumpus and ruckus are comfortable now
Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to grow
So I got an apartment
Across from the park
Put quinoa in my fridge
Still I’m not feeling grown
Been a hell of a ride
But I’m thinking it’s time to go
(Here we go)
So put your best face on everybody
Pretend you know this song everybody
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang
I’m way too young to lie here forever
I’m way too old to try so whatever
Come hang
Let’s go out with a bang
Short answer, you don't have to spend over half your day there if you don't want to. You can just get there 30min or so before the main performance.
But yes this is the new normal lol
Love your content and that you are bringing awareness to everyone. Don't listen to the negative Nancy's out there.
I went to the same concert but we were in the grass, it was a bit annoying for how long we had to wait
Can you do a video where you show each child and tell their age cuz well I don't know why I guess I'm just curious
Yes 6 hours 😢
bruh i was a few rows ahead of them
No, you baught tickets to a festival type concert. So you got to see EVERYONE that performed that day. And ajr was just the last one to perform.
EM BEIHOLD
Is that in Colorado spring because I went then!!
No
I work for a venue and this isn't normal, but they probably wanted to sell a few more tickets.
Sadly yes this is how concerts are now
It's very normal for opening acts to be hours
My mom has six kids to I am one of them
It was like this is 1996 so, yeah.
Usually opening acts are posted. What’s wrong with getting more music?
Yes definitely normal but its been a thing since early 2000s
So u don’t have to be there for the opener’s. If u really wanna see them u can
My mom has five kids
My kids and a few friends want to go … 23,22,15,15,15 all girls … in Detroit … are they safe? 🤷♂️
Your oldest son look exactly like your twins
Yep, it's the new norm...
I think it’s normal now for this to happen
That’s a concert
Hundred comet
Makes up for the expensive prices ig
Who is AJR? I have not heard of that person.
Theyre a band of three brothers, Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met and they make alternative music in new york, there most popular songs are Worlds Smallest Violin, Bang, Weak, Sober Up, Im Ready, and 100 Bad Days but there are more
See you love you sahawntitasmith you love me to see you love ❤
