James finds it a luxurious and capable grand tourer, but Paul feels it needs to be more dynamically astute to suit its sporting profile.

X6 is imo the best looking and driving vehicle ever. Having driven the X6 and the Q7, there is just no comparing.

Just tried the M40d which got around nicely but then the M50d showed that it is in a another league in terms of torque and getting up to speed without showing like it is trying hard. You need to remember this car is a compromise in lots of areas but some of us are looking for just that. Discovery is great for off-road and capacity, C63 is crap but a monster on the black stuff. If these types of cars had a child this would be it. What is the obsession with comparing to an X5 when you don’t need the boot space and subjective looks are more important....?
I also own a 30d F15, totally agreed with you the engine has plenty of power and grunt, obviously don't handle as well as a sport sedan given its sheer size!!

The 6 x is so sexy whenever I see it I let out a inner roar 😊 I can’t help it😊so powerful you just have to pay attention and pause whatever you’re doing to watch how dominant it is on the road.

I bend corners in mine. She takes mountain and canyon curves like champ. Zero lack, great handling
BMW X6 is more for people who cares about individuality more than practicality, the buyer seems doesn't care about its practicality. And it seems that lot of people do care, since Mercedes also following this trend. And usually people who buy this X6 or GLE coupe use it as a second car, not their primary car. sorry for my bad english

It's got the high riding position of a Suv without the boxy Suv look.
They got the 30d and are saying it is not sporty, try the 50i then you might change your mind.

I have owned an X6d for about 18 months now. I personally love the look of it. Very comfortable drive. Interior is great. Performance for city driving is smooth.
My biggest gripe is the disbelief that the automatic opening boot doest have sensors on the top to prevent it from hitting carpark slabs, pipes, garages, literally anything low lying. Before anyone says it .... "just be mindful before opening it". Buy it and then tell me how you get along with that ......... scratches bloody all over the boot line guaranteed.
Also not baby friendly car at all which is the main reason for me being in the process of changing cars.
The back seat headrests do not adjust (cannot manually move the head rests up and down) so you cannot install mirror for baby seat.
Great car but with a couple of major flaws for me.
why not use the V8 TT version for this?
I want x6 quality interior in a X5. Even though they look similar but they are different in interior quality. X6 is little bit more luxurious. Previous X6 looked more sportier than X5 but now other way around.

Instead of comparing it to a small X5 and saying its not a good option. Compare it to the 3 or 4 series and say its big and beefy.

X6 is ugly in any mean... Mercedes GLE coupe is a bit prettier but still damn ugly! And... I don't know why you are so excited by the interior - it is pretty much the same layout since the 3 series E30 appear.
To say the GLE coupe is ugly is not right as its a matter of opinion, the GLE beats the X6 in every way, that's why I bought one!
Well at the end the car look is a personal taste. I admitted GLE coupe is better looking then X6 there is no place for arguing (although some people still argue)... but I still think the "normal" GLE with AMG pack is much more stylish and pretty then the coupe version.
What about X6 then? Having in mind this is the car that appear in 2006 with new headlights :) It should be out of the line in its own league of ugliness :)

It's ugly. You don't need a masters degree in design to identify that this car is awful. It's likened to an obese person trying to wear a sexy outfit.

Why is an SUV trying to look like a sports car? It simply does not work. All those other cars mentioned are also hideous.
So it's not sporty but is aerodynamic, you've really confused yourself. How does the shape make it anymore functional than the traditional boxes? The X5/6M are essentially the same car with neither being faster than the other. The coupe-like shape isn't fooling anyone other than people with terrible taste.
You said it's not trying to be like a sports car, yet the shape is supposed to improve aero due to it's 'sporty' design. The shape is all for show and gains nothing overall. Far too much weight would have to be cut down for any kind of aerodynamic change to take effect. I'm sure the body roll is fun if you want to make passengers vomit.
