@@Sammy_O To be honest it wasn't great until I put the Traditionalist skill on it. I know you lose the Shell's ability but it makes the Shell super tanky. I've gone head-to-head with Curies, Ochos, Ultimate Invaders and even the Ultimate Fenrir and have won using this build.
I love watching you play some builds, you can tell the ones that really give you a kick. I have been working with an OLD gun lately. The original auto cannon. When you have the shot grouping and acceleration faster it can be a real killer when you have another weapon to lock the player down.
Seeing that behemoth in first game makes me wonder if MG rust and something like puncher could work, sad it got powercreeped but still a really fun bot.
One setup you need to watch out for when running the shell is the Volt/Weber/Gauss weapons. I run a Crisis with Gauss and can easily pop a shield with a full charged shot. Can be dangerous before you get your repair amps stacked.

Shell with the ability right now is on the weaker side that's why I used the Traditionalist skill along with a lot of durability and resistance skills. Hello Adrian, thanks for these Shell tips. I equipped my Mk 3 Dread Shell with two Tamers and a Mk 3 Spirit Smuta with a Hiruko drone, and it made a huge difference. The Tamers with Hiruko really took down Ochokochis, Curies and Dagons at a phenomenal rate and made the Shell a terror at mid to close quarters.
Not sure if I would use the Smuta since that fires differently from the Tamers. If you want that range then maybe try Decay but otherwise I think I tried Redeemer and that worked pretty good.
Last week I won the Dread Shell..but since Other content creators said it was horrible I got rid of it. So wish I had seen this video before I made that stupid decision. Next time I will go to the best content creator first.
Moral of the video: self preservation build was awesome with all those twin rep amp, traditional skill, Pascal drone...plus that thick azz shield.... More comforting about these thick physical/ energy shield is when shield will pop up, until then repair amp will be pretty much charged up... So these bots doesn't have to cower in cover u til their rep amps gets charged .....they can fight in open with shield around...and even if shield pops up, repair amps and other trinkets will take care of you.... Oh yeah, shell's main reason to be this effective in this video is ultimate Avenger aka ""SMELTER""...
The shell is one of my all time favorite bots! I was very glad when they gave away the free one for Christmas(Which somehow glitched and gave me 2 XD), still using it now with the acid weapons it came with.
Because I'm expecting the shields to break. The weapons we have in the game now output a lot of damage so while I am using Physical Shield Expert it's more to protect me against things like Shenlou attacks early on. Once those shields are blown off then you have to rely heavily on resistance which is where the Repair Amplifier and Pascal drone come into play (along with Stubborn Warrior). Hope this explains things.
No. The reason why this build is so strong is because of the Tamer weapon (it doesn't even have to be MK3 it could be MK1 level 1 - I forgot to mention this). If you had one MK1 level 1 Tamer and were to hit an MK3 Ultimate Fenrir they can't heal for the next 15 seconds unless they have Phase Shift or the Avalon mothership charged up. The Claw won't work because it doesn't prevent players from healing like the Tamer does. I hope this makes sense.

strange you should post this video now, because i just got a shell from the superchest. I swear, each time a WR youtuber posts something, a similar thing happens to me, like that time when i just finished building my ravanna when someone posted a video on the exact same build a few hours later. And the time when someone made a crisis video, and I just got enough components to make a crisis.
Probably because they got a list of equity to make video about it. Sometimes you might get a very very good offer for cheap and suddenly many CZcamsrs will do videos of that equipment. Also they probably adjust what chests so you get a higher chance to get exactly what they want to promote, they make videos to make you want it even more and that's how they roll money.
Yes that's one of the stronger builds. Even Hazard works well. I tried Atomizers based on what I ran on Blitz but that didn't do that well - I think it might have something to do with weapon placement as well though. With Blitz the weapons are closer together so Quarkers work well with Tamers. With Ocho the weapons are further apart so the Atomizers don't hit as hard.
It's because I'm using the Traditionalist pilot skill. This skill gives me more durability. I found when I was trying to optimize the Shell that it was significantly weaker in my games when I had the ability. So… I decided to try a different approach by adding as much durability (health) and defence skills. If you look at the build itself I have Repair Amps for resistance, Pascal for resistance, Traditionalist for more health and I believe the rest of the pilot skills are just all more health or more resistance. Hope this answers your question.

I've been testing some of these builds recently after seeing the success you were having during a recent stream and I've also discovered some interesting builds. One of them being a Dagon with 4 mk3 Freedom Cudgels and two mk3 Tamers. The Nathan pilot and seeker drone with shot grouping for the Cudgels. In quite a few games it completely blew me away the success I was having with it. Of course not in every game but definitely most of them! I'm still experimenting with various builds with a combination of these weapons. It's a lot of fun too!
I know right?! I'm so glad I tested this on the Blitz because I would have never discovered all of these builds or even considered them. On the Ocho for example I tried Tamers with Atomizers but it didn't work as well. But… I figured out why. It has to do with the weapon placement. When I tried Tamers with Hazard for example it was highly effective.

@@terra2805 Yes I can definitely see that working. It's more the pairing of rust weapons with any other weapons but I'm noticing it's bringing back many of the older weapons too which is really nice. It's not like you need an MK3 rust weapon either - it's more just for the effect.
Hi Adrian, Why use the shell build?? Why not fenrier, angler, hawk,rayker?? They are faster, better abilities, don't have physical shield but over-all better than shell or is my thinking wrong?
This Shell build can actually kill all of those lol. I've taken down Ultimate Fenrirs and Ultimate Invaders with it. You know the Ultimate Fenrir video I put out a few weeks ago? This Shell can kill it simply because of the Tamers.

Not really. The rust weapons are where it's at right now. What's interesting is that corrosion weapons generally don't do that well in this game. Toxin, Venom, Bane... Wasp, Hornet or even Basilisk and Krait... they don't do that well relative to some of the other options we have.

Rust weapons are Tamer, Damper and Subduer. For this build if you have Subduer then I would run maybe Shredder, Quarker or Blight to compliment the Subduer. Hope this helps!
One of the reasons why this Shell build performs well is the Tamer. The other reason is that the physical shields help against Shenlou attacks (especially if they are running the Tesla weapons). By the time they've broken your shields you've most likely hit them with Tamers preventing them from healing. I also find having the shields helps against rust weapons as it takes those players longer to break through.
Definitely Ultimate Avenger. There's also something different about Shredders. They feel different to me because I remember testing them back when I was trying out all my Daredevil builds and I don't recall them being this deadly. They were "ok" back then but now they seem to be doing far more damage. I'm starting to wonder if they changed the shotgrouping because that alone can make a huge difference.

lol I kill everything and have always been that way even if it was my own clan mate. Also about Raptor yes this can kill Raptor if they aren't careful. The trick is keeping your distance and not shooting at it's Reflector Shield unless you're just getting in that rust effect.

Adrian actually this rust weapon with older robot build was first used by one of exo player in legend league… He uses old robot’s raven tamer and hazard … 3 months back i checked his hanger he performed very well … then i also used tamer on my dagon … I am the second one …. Now i use rust weapons from 3 months I destroys legend league players with my mid meta 😂… Now most top clan players know my name .. They target me first 😂

In the current meta Shell is actually better because we have rust weapons on the field. The Shell at least has physical shields to somewhat block it whereas Hellburner doesn't have any physical shields.

Yes the shredder was buffed a few releases back. Shot grouping I think is what they changed.

I don't know why anyone would hate on the Shell. It's one of the bots that has stood the test of time like Ravana and Fenrir.

I think it's worth using the Tamer yes. I wouldn't use the Magnum. Maybe if you have something like Cudgel, Quarker or Shredder perhaps?

But Tamer prevents you from healing. I would pick Tamer over Sting any day of the week.

In the current meta Shell is actually better because we have rust weapons on the field. The Shell at least has physical shields to somewhat block it whereas Hellburner doesn't have any physical shields.
