why do i feel like bill hader doesn’t know that he’s one of the greatest comedians of all time. like he’s literally one of the best, i’d place him higher than some of the apparent “greats” in the comedy scene.
That's what usually happens with super creative people - they see all the details so they don't consider themselves great.
I feel like he's kind of a perfectionist, he sees flaws in everything he does and feels like it isn't as good as it could be, so he doesn't feel exceptionally good at what he does. But i also feel like that perfectionism is what makes him so great. I feel like he'd never utter the words "Eh, that's good enough" when it comes to his work.
John Mulaney and him. They both have a knack for making jokes with everything they say that 90% of the audience doesn't even catch.
I think because he isn’t a Hugh stand up guy and that’s where people say the best comedians are cause they don’t work with anyone it’s just them up there with a mic

On the contrary, i don't find a lot of that era to be very funny, and it confuses me watching stuff like this bc everyone on snl at that time was so talented and funny lol. I think a lot of it has to do with the style of humor at the time not being my style of humor, and i think maybe sometimes they were better at making each other laugh than the audience lol

I think they kinda meant when they are trying to promote a show and the interviewer only cares about snl. This is them reminiscing together about memories from snl. So I think its different because they are together and want to talk about it. Its probably different when they are alone and actually want to talk about their current show. But your right! I live for hearing about their memories on snl. I wish John would've been on the cast or stayed longer than 4 years.
Even though Bill Hader is very proud of The Skeleton Twins he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves for his amazing acting in it.

My nan recently passed away and the night after I couldn’t sleep so I watched it, and it’s phenomenal. I thought it was a dramatic comedy, not a comedic drama, but it’s so good. On the night of her viewing I watched it with my mom, so for whatever reason I have _strong_ ties with it, for coping reasons. But yeah, he’s so so so perfect in it, and I love the movie with my whole heart. It's such a relatable thing and I appreciate him being so open about his anxiety with performing. Improv is a terrifying concept to me and it's incredible that people who suffer with anxiety can push through that. Both of them are amazing.
