- It's been months of me abusing these Ride Concept Flat pedal shoe and putting them through a variety of different real world mountain biking situations and weather condition in order to see how good or bad they really are.
In this video you will hear my experiences I had while riding these mountain bike shoes

I love the videos man. Keep em coming! I've watched a LOT of videos on MTB shoes. You are the first and only one that EVER mentioned changing the pins out. I've heard people complain, gripe, and whine about different shoes not "sticking" but you are the only one I've seen figure it out. LOL.
Thanks buddy
Thanks for sharing this tip. Just switched over from 510s to a pair of RC Hellions and haven't been loving the grip paired with DMR V8 pedals.
No problemo my bru.
Agree with every point you made. They are GREAT shoes for the money. Very stiff initially but wear in nicely. I was about to get a new pair of shoes after 6 months but then I realised it wasn't the shoes, it was the pins on the pedals. Got some with thinner but longer pins, and these shoes showed their true magic.
They are so stuck down that if I don't get my foot position right at the start of the trail it can be hard to move them on the pedal. Which is a good thing to me. Love these and have just ordered another pair.
thanks buddy
Love the video man. Informative and the sound effects brought out my inner pre teen, whoopie cushion joker. Looking fwd to more content.
I tried the 2021 Wildcat, the sole is much stiffer than Freerider, but the grip is not the same, I have long pins. but I will try other newer Ride concept shoes. I got these on sale so grabbed them.
So true dude! and great protection. everything you said is spot on.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you soooo much for the effort in all your videos....I needed the pppfffff..... Sounds. Made my day! Seriously.
Glad you like them!
Awesome vid.
But would you recommend the Vice or LiveWire?
Thanks :D
I don't have any time on the VICE but I love my live wires
@@antiherobc Thanks for the advice, I just got the Vice, and their definitely worth a review :D
My first pair of flats was 5ten freerider pros but recently got Leatt DBX 3.0's. Honestly the Leatt's are not as grippy but the confort makes me prefer them anytime over the 5tens.
Yeah, The 5ten have great rubber
I mean $100 to protect your toes is not bad at all. You will spend more in rehab and appointments with your doctor if you indeed break a toe
totally
Anyone who's ever crashed a motorbike whilst wearing d3o will tell you it's a god damn revelation (myself included). Soft and squidgy but absorbs and disperses impact damage like nothing I've ever seen. Carshed once without it, deep tissue damage, physio, ultrasound the works. Crashed with it, meh ego bruised but nothing more than that. I'll be looking at the powerline version to protect my ankles.
d30 is great. but the location on the shoe seems pointless. On the inner sole it wore through in a matter of months.
Nice video dude! I’ve been looking for some new shoes for enduro/trail do you think theses will be a good pick?
I think so! Well.... I enjoy mine now after the changes
D3O works with impact. The bigger the impact the more effective it’s supposed to be. Well that’s what they said on the sales floor at my LBS where I got them 🤣🤣🤣
The question is .... do they actually ride with these shoes or is it hear say?
d3o is the best armour I've ever used, and that's coming from someone who low sided a superbike leaving a dual carriageway. Not sure if there is enough energy dispersed through a shoe sole to justify its use but for ankle, hip, shoulder, knees and elbows I'd thoroughly recommend it (if you like to ride like a medieval knIght).
Hi, would you recommend them for a whole day XC/Trail trip?
How is the sizing compared to Fiveten? Ride Concept reccomends 41.5 in the size chart for 26.5 cm long feet, my feet are 11cm wide, I use 44 with Fiveten to get room for my pinkie toes. 45 is too bit but 44 fits well, but I do have some extra room at the tip, and toe , so if I had big toe swelling, or got fatter feet they would fit. But with some brands I don't tember which but I can fit 42-44 depending on the brand. I saw on eperson claimed he wa son five ten and ordered one siz ebigger, I don't know if he meant 0.5 bigger or one whole number bigger.
I have five ten and the sole completely fell of after one year. I’m very disappointed. Now I want to buy these shoes because here in Switzerland they are 30% off right now. So, should I buy it?
I find the heel cup/box too shallow that my feet slides up as I walk. So I decided to replace the inner sole with my ols rumning shoe inner sole. I hope this shoe has an additional lace strap to hold my feet in place as well.
I hope it works out for ya buddy
How do you find the RC's in terms of sizing compared to the 5tens? I have broad feet and battle to find comfortable shoes. I know that folks say to go a size up on 5tens, would you recommend that for the RC's too?
These do feel broader than my FR Pro shoes. I didn't size up and I am fine but I also have narrow feet so I slip into shoes easily. They do feel roomy up front for me. Everyone has different body shapes. I'd say sizing was spot on for me to be very comfortable in them.
Will you buy them again??
Well, let's see how long they will last first. But so far they have been great.
I have to admit I hated the thumbnail, well, imma a hater, ahha its okay it just didnt made me click it but your video was very helpful in regards to the stickyness of the shoe thank you!
Which hardware store did you get the pins from? Did you just take a pedal to the shop?
I went to a place called nesco.
I took one of the pins from my pedal with for them to measure
@@antiherobc okay excellent. I'll maybe do the same in the future. I recently purchased some stupidly expensive Spaz flats with my new bike and flip were they horrible shoes. No grip on pedals. Went back to my old five tens even though they are falling apart.
I have cleats but I want to learn how to bunny hop on flats what mtb flat pedal shoes under 60 usd
I'd get some decent composite pedals like raceface chester or the one up composite pedals.
Shoes under 60 usd? Just go skateboard shoes. Can't go wrong with em.
There's are the best all round riding shoe I've had...$180 in Australia👎
bought them today the cheapest I could find got a good deal 53£
💩 on a blanket? That’s a new one lol! I wonder if the soles will last any longer than five tens?
That's the 100$ question.
Los míos se rompieron a la tercera rodada, no lo recomiendo.
I think the 510s are way better I’ve had my 510s for a couple of years and still look good while the rc sole started cracking in a couple months some of the knobs were falling apart
yeah? The rubber on 510 are a step ahead of everyone else. I'm hoping my RC's last
@@antiherobc I feel that all these companies must stop trying to reinvent the wheel... just got the new leatt shoes and its like riding on ice compared to shoes with stealth rubber..... I come from a climbing backround and vibram for example makes fantastic rock climbing rubber (which is what 510's stealth rubber was designed for) ..... companies should build their own uppers and leave the rubber to the guys who know what they are doing........ unfortunately cant find 510's in sa right now..... next option is gonna be to send these brand new shoes to danny in waterval boven (he resoles climbing shoes) and get him to grind off the stock tread and just put some good old fashioned climbing rubber on there.....
