Who ACTUALLY Runs Dubai? 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates
Vložit
- čas přidán 5. 05. 2023
- Dubai in the United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 is a very popular destination, and when you arrive here you’ll realize how nice the local people are, but you will most likely realize something else as well. And that is that the people making Dubai function the way it does, are not the people you’d expect.😳
This country has done amazing work in terms of working permits and attracting investors and entrepreneurs, but it especially catches my attention because of how friendly it is in terms of immigration. Walking in the streets of Dubai is amazing particularly because of the insane diversity. People from India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iran etc, and as you know, diversity is one of my favorite things in the whole world.
I hope you like this video ❤️
Cheers!!

From someone living in Dubai you should know that the level of racism from Emiratis is actually quite high. These workers also get exploited, they make pennies with horrible hours just because it's 3x what they would make in their home country. The worst part is that all of these workers are not allowed to accommodate any family members and spend years apart from them just to send cash home. People living in the UAE and say this is not true should do some research.
Yeah i also live here. Its not just the uae, its other countries in the middle east like qatar (i used to live there).
@user-uz5op8ms8e
It's not Racism it's called extreme slave system.
Yeah, this is a middle eastern thing.
@@atilla4372 that being said, it shouldnt only be classified as a trait only the middle east uses. Many companies and businesses like apple and nike run sweatshops in asian countries like china where the living conditions are possibly worse than here in the uae. Im saying this because i keep seeing hypocrites getting mad over dubais human rights problem and then being ignorant when people ask them who made the phone they worship so dearly.
I’m a Emirati and whenever I go out with my father we always leave a huge tip my father once tipped a waitress 500+AED
No one of those foreigners will ever be eligible for Emirati citizenship and pension.
Not necessarily. I'm Pakistani but my father was given Emirati citizenship in 1984; he did not speak Arabic and there is not a single Emirati in our family. All he did was own a small electronics business in Jebel Ali's free trade zone.
Thousands of other Desis were also given citizenship; most of them were Indian and Pakistani Muslims who could speak Arabic; if you saw them today, you would think they are Arabs from the way they speak and act.
Those were good times when everyone knew each other and people were modest. Dubai's transformation was a double edged sword. For newcomers, the only way to become Emirati is to marry into an Emirati family or be extremely wealthy.
@@AnonymousReader-er4eg are most of those Emiratis with Indian decent Muslims or Hindus? Because, in the Emirati constitution is written that to be an Emirati is to follow Islam. It is also mentioned in their national anthem
@@__Man__ when I said "Indian and Pakistani Muslims", I meant to include Indians as well; they would have had to be Muslim to be Emirati obviously. As it is, 50% of the Indians in the UAE are Muslims, but the rules to becoming a citizenship changed. It's not as relaxed anymore.
It may seem unfair but the citizenship helps balance the power dynamics between expatriates and locals, because expats already dominate the country. In Dubai and Sharjah, English, Hindi and Urdu are more widely spoken than Arabic. I've seen more Russians than locals this past year in Dubai.
The locals in Abu Dhabi are the most privileged because they are the only oil rich Emirate in the country. Dubai's locals are also very fortunate people thanks to their visionary Sheikh and often have high-ranking positions in businesses. But in the other Emirates, there is a very wide gap between the poor Emiratis and the rich ones. For example, Umm al Quwain should be making so much in commissions from their ports but in the last 30 years, I've seen nearly zero progress in that entire Emirate. Only thing that's changed is a few resorts for Western tourists here and there, but most locals (and expats there too) are living hand to mouth. I assume their Sheikhs have been hoarding all the money.
@@AnonymousReader-er4eg yes, Russian has started for oportunity in UAE since 2014. Even, the Telegram owner settles in Dubai. Russian will be more heard in the UAE after the Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu) and Malayalam as an expatriate language beside Arabic (official language of the Emirates) and English (global lingua franca). I also met someone whose 5th generation great grandparents originated from Balochistan who came to Ajman even before the independence of the UAE. If you trace some of these Arabs genealogy in the gulf, you will also find Arabised Levantine bloodline and Arabised Persian bloodline. Such as Bani Yas, some of Bani Yas tribes were originated from outside of the UAE even non-Arabs who had been Arabised such as Mehri people. But, all of this should happen before the independence, even today. Today, they have been rich and will limit citizenship for other tribes since UAE rulers are very tribal just like other Arab societies

As a resident of the Middle East, you gotta know that the middle east has some of the highest racism and they make sure to make you feel like an outsider, no matter how educated or how good of a job you have, you're considered an expat and not a citizen. It's very hard to get citizenship here because they always try to draw the line between the locals and the foreigners, the locals are always highly paid compared to the expats even if you do the same job as them and the cops are always biased to the locals, most expats try to get away from a police case even if they’re on the right side just to avoid the hassle they have to go through considering the cops are partial to the locals. It looks very fun as a tourist when you visit there for a few days in good hotels, but it indeed is one of the darkest places and they have one of the worst treatment for oversees laborers in the world and are often treated as slaves.

That's how they treat the successful third world immigrants. And less successful third world immigrants whom Dubai has given jobs they wouldn't even get visa in western countries
Western companies in third world dont even pay them same as Westerners. They exploit them and then sell the same material at higher price back home.

Dude it's not as colourful as you describe. There's also a dark side to the UAE. Now there's a rule that for major posts in a company in the UAE, Emiratis must be appointed and that too 4-5 times the actual salary that they normally pay for other nationalities. And if an Emirati and another national work for the same post, there's a massive difference in their salaries and the other nationality might also be over qualified and with experience than that of the Emirati. Most of the labour laws are not being followed by the companies especially in labour intensive companies. Also people from Europe, USA, UK are being preferred over other nationals in some companies. There's also discrimination. I'm an Indian, but it hates to see some Pakistanis being mistreated. The hospitality sector prefers Filipinos over other nationals. So there are lots of things to be mentioned. Please please check your facts before posting another video.

@@aquazone2440 It's not about payment.
It's about abuse, like working 17 hours during ramadan, or taking their passport, or not even let them go back to their country when they are sick.
Because the boss wants to earn his money back first.
They say they are muslim but they do all the things a muslim shouldn't do.
They only care about money money money

This is the biggest joke ever. They want first Arab policy . People with a business pay a share to a Arab to own a business there gulf ain't fair. 😂😂😂
Because they have a small population and doesn’t want foreigners taking over the economy.
And America was built by happy blacks, right ?? at least they were given a job and pay. If you work hard enough, you be a rich man in Dubai.
@@techcarsandrandomfuture7713the difference is, in USA it happened 400 years ago when there were no regulations and there was some form of slavery in literally every part of the world and in Dubai it's happening in 2023.
@@Aviator7477 the problem is, the USA didn't even exist 400 years ago, the USA was established 247 years ago, and UAE abolished slavery 67 years ago, open a book before opening your mouth or you will be embarrassed just like now
@@hashira9223 Mr.dumbass, instead of opening book i get first hand information from people who work in the middle East. On paper every country has abolished slavery to fool people with 20 IQ like you. I personally know people working in food delivery field, divers and nurses. They tell me how bad the situation is. How they treat their labourers and how their masters treat them. They won't even give you leave even if your family member died back home. In 2023 middle East and few african countries like Mauritania etc are only countries where slavery is happening. Even politicians of few asian countries have raised the issue but you can keep living in your dreams.
As a person from the UAE I believe there are a lot of workers from other countries that have a job and a shop
I agree ❤ I love uae ❤ lot of respect to the leaders.......been there for 8 yrs
Fun fact the UAE has the population of around 10m only 2m are from the UAE the others are foreigners. 😄

The ppl from Dubai and Middle East are so rich they need not work- that’s why the hire foreigners… all local buss owners are bosses. 😊
Actually a lot of locals have jobs only low skilled jobs are indian but that is dissapering in the future thankfully also don't be rude
Dude check out the billionaires in dubai more than half and Indians lol
The people from the middle east are so rich? Tell me you're ignorant without telling me you're ignorant.
They are not only rich they are just too, MASHALLAH. ALLAHUMMA Barik. They adhere by Shariah . May ALLAH give them bests of both worlds and forgive all our sins.aameen.
@@Farza2005 actually that’s what I had experienced that all the locals I had met at Dubai are darn rich! Look at yourself before you accuse others of being rude!

As an Emarati I can confirm that is a farm, and a very wealthy persons owns it.
What's the definition of farm in Dubai?
مزرعة
(mazraea) And Dubai is not a country it is a city in the United Arab Emirates.
So who owns that villa?
It's a mansion or palace
Thats basically uae, bahrain, kuwait, saudi arabia, oman, the whole gulf

Hi I am from UAE means dubai is located in UAE so yeah we do have foreigners and UAE even let foreigners makes school with their language UAE accepts different cultures
I came to Dubai 5 years back from India and since then, have been happily living here. Whoever is giving you stories of immigrants problem, trust me is straight lying in your face. I am, for that matter, so grateful every single day to the government here for ensuring that the country and the system remains so open and friendly to everyone who wishes to work here.
Wait, did they give uae citizenship? Wow, congratulations 👏🏻🎉.

Omg THANK YOU SM I was trying to say that but no one believes me
Racism in UAE is extremely high. The workers only being used as cheap labour and shipped back after being sick or workless..
Are you sure?
@@Waad005 Yes :( It‘s even harder than in Singapore.
So is USA and England and France and Germany and Serbia and …..😅
@@thameswood1216 No, it’s not. Especially in Germany every immigrant gets money to live, even if they don’t want to work.
As a resident of the uae, I can confirm you are right about the worker part. But racism isn’t the right word. The uae is biased towards the rich. If you have money, they’ll welcome you regardless of your race. If you aren’t from the lower class, life is pretty much smooth sailing here. There’s a lot of acceptance for people and their differences (since majority of the uae are Asians atp) and a lot of religious tolerance too.
I am living in Dubai right now my country is born for peace ✌️
Bro is trying to be Nasdaily😂
I thought he was gonna say "That's one minute see you tomorrow" at the end
