To me, who am Italian, this sounds like real, pure and most traditional American country music. Josh Turner has a deep bass voice that suits country so well. A very talented singer
The public doesn't want traditional sound anymore. Sturgill Simpson, billy strings, Charlie Crockett are all examples of artists you won't hear about. Just turner started it mainstream but didn't want to change. When you don't want to change because of what people won't make it mainstream. You need to get it yourself. Icomend artists that are go getters and imo I don't listen to the radio anymore true country music is found from the people who live it and love it not what the radio wants us to hear. There are some new age songs that a decent that I can get behind by not many. Also one that artist that strikes a nerve is Colby Acuff. The main stream artists doing it right are Jon pardi, Thomas Rhett and Morgan Wallen

This is not Josh Turner song The original was sung by Randy Travis. The end of the song reveals that the story about the passengers was told to the narrator by a preacher during a Sunday church service. In a twist, however, it reveals that the hooker survived and had a son. The preacher who told the story is in fact the son of the hooker on the bus (holding up the bloodstained Bible as proof), who read the Bible that had been given to her by the dying preacher who had been on the bus to her (presumably future)son, leading him to eventually become a preacher himself.

His songs and voice remind me of the songs I listened to back in the 70's when artists had their own sound and distinct voices. When I first heard Josh sing I thought to myself that he is new Don Williams. Josh is my favorite country music singer of today because he actually sings what country music is supposed to be and I hope Josh keeps it going because many folks today miss that sound.
