The lifesteal was balanced until mayhem scaling became a thing. Mayhem scaling ruined a lot of balance
@@WillFuI it may have been balanced, but every character having a form of life steal that was based on action skill or passive doesn't feel right. It takes away from each character.
@@stereolotus77 so u would rather have health regen over lifesteal for a character? That’s fair I think like regen is more powerful than lifesteal until mayhem scaling becomes a thing
@@WillFuI it's less about life Regen being better than life steal and more about unique abilities for each character. I think every character should have their own survivability style. So Amara has elemental life steal, Moze uses crazy high shields that can "life steal" through grenade hits, Zane having life steal through damage and action skill, Fl4k doesn't have a reliable way of life steal. 3 out of the 4 characters have a form of life steal.
The main reason I swapped for these videos though is I see people use life steal as the only form of survivability and rely upon it as a crutch. Some people think it is the only viable survivability tool.
My goal with these videos is to show that there is a lot more to the game than meta. I think life steal, at least the use of it, is under that meta umbrella.
So for these videos I think it is better for the message to use life Regen instead of life steal.
You are just handicapping the build because you are trying to prove something you don't really have to proof.
Anybody that watches your builds/videos mostly know what the characters are capable of doing and that most of them can pull their weight without the most busted things in this game. The gun is already on the weaker/okayish side. Build showcases of weapons like this is about giving them mostly everything they need to see how much they can complete with best of the best this game can offer.
It is a bit easier to survive on true maliwan takedown without lifesteal because barrier is a pretty busted ability for what it can offer in itself. You can run this same build without barrier and see how much more difficult survivability will be and how less fun it can be. Also. In the name of challenge clone and clone ammo regen and pretty busted abilities and annoinments respectively for what they offer also.
If you want to do a challenge run, you can do whatever funny shit people do to test themselves in borderlands 3, i just disagree that build videos on weaker weapons should also operate on that concept.
Fyi, i don't simply mean just the revolter, i mean deliberately choosing less optimal skill tree and gear options.
@@BennyAdenugba So I definitely understand where you are coming from and your argument. You're definitely right.
The reason I chose this build specifically to do this on though is because people have already made this build to the best it can be and I wouldn't add much to the conversation.
A weapon and build like this gives me an opportunity to showcase mechanics people don't use that are really cool in this game.

This weapon and the anoint on it together were requested, so I followed the request to use the anointment. I'm not all that big a fan of the clone ammo regen anoint or using clone to showcase a weapon or item in one of these videos.
I had someone say that life steal was a bad, but "required" mechanic so I changed up the build a little bit to show some of the other options in the game to support survivability in a play style he might enjoy.
The re-volter thing is because I genuinely think it was bad for the game. It's one of those items I'll use if I have to, but I just don't like it. I hold the same stance about the free radical and the beacon. All the overly power creep items.

I might revisit this weapon in the future to give it a more appropriate challenge build.
@@stereolotus77 I would like to see you using it with Moze actually. Considering how ammo hungry and fast-firing it is, it suits way more with her than Zane
