I just came across your channel, I live right next door to Lancaster county and we go to a lot of the places you mentioned so I'm going to give you one of my favorites places to go...It's the Green Dragon farmers market. There's a place in there called Beiler's Bakery that makes Cookies/Sticky buns/cinnamon rolls etc I love to stand there and watch them roll them out & put butter, cinnamon sugar mix and roll them up , then cut them out! We usually get 6 to go. Also there's a place called Newswanger’s Sausage that makes sausage, pepper & onion sandwhich on a roll It's so good and so many more I like too!
Great video! Bird in Hand Bakery has the best Red Velvet cake! And l love the peanut butter spread at Katie’s Kitchen But, the fresh baked bread and jelly at Windmill Farms was awesome!
You hit on allll my favorites! You definitely need to try the hot, freshly made cinnamon donuts they cook outside Kauffman's Fruit Farm on Saturday. Absolutely Delishhhhh! light and sweet and they melt in your mouth! Also the Long John's at Stolzfus Meats.
Glad to hear you are just taking a break Daneille. I was kind of worried not seeing any videos out for a while. Anyway, my sister has lived in Lancaster County most of her life, so I asked her who makes the best whoopie pies. Without hesitating, she said Shady Maple Farm Market.
Aww thanks Sue! That is so sweet. I probably should have announced that I was slowing down for the winter but didn’t. I’ll make sure to say that if it happens again 😊👍 Honestly, I have been quite busy! My youngest is a senior in HS and is quite busy so we are trying to soak in all the time we can with him. He’s going to Milwaukee to college at Marquette with an army rotc scholarship and then will contract with the Army for 8 years. He’s also going away all summer to a flight academy in Florida! Our middle son is getting married in the beginning of August! I led a ladies’ Bible study this winter at our church which kept me joyfully busy 🥰 And then there is regular life stuff ;) So…it’s a funhouse around here 😆😁. There will be more time for videos this summer ☀️♥️ I love doing them and will keep at it Lord willing ☺️

I will have to rewatch this before my next trip to Lancaster. I was so excited to watch this video when I saw the title. As always it didn’t disappoint!

hi Dani ! as of 2 weeks ago pretzel stand at roadside was still closed for winter. immergut is a fairly good substitute. be well. warm regards as usual. jimmy and laurie.
Oh that’s right! They do close down a bit in winter, like some other Amish run places. I kind of slowed down a bit too from CZcams as a winter break ❄️ 😆👍 Hope u n Laurie are well! I had Immurgut last Fall but it was end of day and not warmed up by the time I ate them so wasn’t super impressed but I definitely need to give them another fresh taste ☺️👍. Nice to hear from you 😊
I tried the pretzels at Immurgut because I had seen them advertised but I was disappointed. It wasn’t nearly as good as Countryside Roadstand.@@ElleLiving
Great video really made me hungry and craving a warm pretzel. Have you ever tried Dutch Country Pretzels? I would rate them a close competitor to Countryside Road Stand but I do think that Countryside is better. Mr Sticky's has great sticky buns, I believe that is all that they make.
Hi Joan! Did u hear me mention your name near the end? And yes, these videos make me hungry too ☺️ Thanks for the suggestions 👍 I have not tried either so they r going on my to-do list 😋😊
Yes I heard my name at the end very cool. Thank you I have been going to Lancaster for years but still manage to come across so many new to me places. I have a list of things I want to see or do in Lancaster and when I cross one item off the list there is always something that quickly takes the place.
My favorite donut is a white cream filled light and airy. Not the Boston cream stuff. However last weekend in New England I think I found my new favorite. It was like a glazed donut with white cream but it wasn't airy more of a solid and it was to die for. Probably took 2 days off my life just eating it.
lol 😂 🤣😂🤣. I’m literally laughing out loud inside my car in the Lowe’a parking lot!! U r so funny and I’m pretty sure we were cut from the same cloth bc I wld give up 2 days for such a delicious treat too!! 😆😍😋
Isn't the Bird in Hand Restaurant closed at this time? I think they may have "borrowed" some space at a different restaurant in Intercourse after their recent fire. That corner (340 & Ronks Rd.) in particular, where the restaurant and hotel are located, seems to be cursed at the moment. The hotel (part of it anyway) blew up and the restaurant has had two fires in less than three months. I haven't been past there since the initial explosion but the farmers market was still open when I went past. Also, Uncle Leroy's has a stand alone store about 2 miles west on 340 from the B.I.H. farmers market, that is open Tuesday through Saturday if anyone happens to be in the area on a day that the Bird in Hand Farmers Market is closed. Uncle Leroy's used to sell a pulled pork sandwich at that shop but since the pandemic ended they seem to have stopped. Great video and I'm definitely going to have to get that pretzel you recommended next time I go down 340 on my way to or from Philly.
Hi Richard and thanks for all the info!! Yes, the BIH Restaurant is closed and yes they have a temporary location. The BIH Bakery is still open tho 👍😊. That’s interesting about Uncle Leroy’s selling pork sandwiches 🥪 ☺️. I have passes their store on way to BIH many times -a good tip to head there when market is closed. Let me know what u think of the pretzel when u get it 👍😁

Hi El, I just got CZcams to straighten out why I wasn’t getting you videos. Sorry about that. I know I’m late but here is the goodies I snack on in Lancaster county. At the Countryside Road Stand root beer float and a soft pretzel. Next meat and cheese to go container from the Bird in Hand Farmers Market. I also pick up a dozen whoopies to travel around with from the farmers market. All in all I love all the snacks from the Amish country . Take care El, I got to catch up on your videos.
Hi George 😊 no worries about videos. I haven’t done much this winter - lots going on right now! I love your picks!! Sounds like a terrific day with those snacks. The only thing I would do differently is give the root beer float to my hubby as he likes them and I don’t. I know that’s weird but I’ve never loved that treat. I would just get some coffee milk instead 🥰👍🤩. Thanks for sharing and hope u r well!

Well not according to everyone who sells them in Lancaster 🥰😋😂 In fact I grew up in York county which neighbors Lancaster County and all I ever knew was the term Whoopie Pies.
