Daphne seems happier with Shaggy than with Fred
Same with Shaggy. Both Fred and Velma pined over Daphne and Shaggy (in the classic). And for most part they reject or too oblivious to Fred and Velma making the move.

Shaphne is my favorite duo of the Scooby-Doo franchise
Throughout each incarnation (even though Mystery Incorporated established Velma as Shaggy’s girlfriend), I’ve always seen Shaggy and Daphne show deep romantic feelings for each other
Their love for each other shows in The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, Legend of the Vampire, Legend of the Phantosaur (unlike Fred and Velma, Daphne [along with Scooby] showed genuine support for Shaggy during his nervous breakdowns, she taught him a crash course on how to ride a motorcycle, and she praised him for his heroics in the final act), Music of the Vampire (Shaggy was the first to attempt rescuing Daphne), Curse of the 13th Ghost (Daphne was the gang’s leader while Shaggy and Scooby were her second[s]-in-command), and Happy Halloween Scooby-Doo (Daphne [along with Velma] cleaned Shaggy and Scooby [and an owl] after they messed up their clothes). Their love even shows in Pirates Ahoy when Shaggy dresses as Daphne for the costume party. In The Goblin King, Shaggy disguised himself as Daphne in the supernatural realm. In Moon Monster Madness, Shaggy is the first to offer support during Daphne’s driving test. Even in The Sword and the Scoob, Daphne (while possibly turned on) romantically giggled at Shaggy feeling her legs
In some of the Scooby-Doo Where Are You episodes, instead of giving him Scooby snacks, Daphne made her own dishes for Shaggy
In the What’s New Scooby-Doo episode “Big Scare in the Big Easy,” Shaggy and Scooby found a kidnapped Daphne inside a tomb and freed her using hot sauce (which showed a ❤️ on her ropes), then she thanked them for their heroics at the end of the episode. In a later episode “A Terrifying Round With A Menacing Metallic Clown,” Daphne (along with Fred) was very surprised (and possibly a little turned on) at seeing Shaggy not scared of the clown for nearly the whole episode (while a clown-scared Velma stayed with Scooby most of the time)
In the Mystery Incorporated episode “Night Terrors” (even though the gang experienced nightmares through terrorwood), I saw a romantic spark in Shaggy and Daphne
In the Be Cool Scooby-Doo episode “Night of the Upsetting Shorts” (even though it was a ruse), I saw another romantic spark in Shaggy and Daphne (shocking Fred, Velma, and Scooby)
In the Supernatural crossover “Scoobynatural,” when Shaggy fell and broke his arm, Daphne used her scarf as a makeshift sling bandage
I wish there would be a Scooby-Doo film down the line focusing on Shaphne. I love them so much 💚💜
I’m sure that Shaggy and Daphne’s voice actors both past (Casey Kasem, Stefanianna Christopherson and Heather North) and present (Matthew Lillard and Grey DeLisle) and flesh-and-blood actors (Matthew Lillard, Nick Patalas, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Kate Melton) agree
cant argue with this plus when shaggy and daphne kissed in incorporated it was fiery.
I always thought Daphne was too good for Fred Shaggy maybe goofy and less bright but at least he cares for Daphne more than traps
Shaggy and Daphne seems more unique and different. How many times have we seen the good looking jock go with the pretty girl? How about the goofy cowardly guy with the pretty girl. Nothing against Fred and Daphne but i think Shaggy x Daphne is a better pairing. Shaphne 4EVER! ♥️

@SuperGothic13 Continued. Aside from traveling everywhere together, Shaggy was helping Daphne with her job as a reporter AND giving her use of the Mystery Machine, which he owned. They take numerous vacations together and usually get only one room to share, often shown with only one bed in the background (this is where the subtlties really come in). They dance together at a party (shown in this video). They are shown sleeping next to each other in one episode (in sleeping bags). And so on.

People always for get when it’s a spin off it’s normally those two and Scooby doo.

In the New Scooby-Doo Mysteries and 13 Ghosts Shaggy and Daphne would often get the same hotel room. In the previous seasons when it was the whole gang, the guys and girls would get separate rooms. They also traveled around just them and the Doos, so that shows they were super close.

@kirafeatshinn Well, Phantasaur had classic H-B era Shaphne in it, that is, subtle and classy style. When Shaggy was stressed out Daphne was the one to comfort him. She was also impressed with his moves when he was helping everyone escape from the caverns. If WB can stick to the original Shaphne formula, then I say they should go for it. The characters are too much alike to keep apart. H-B realized this part way through the series. But if WB can't do this, then they shouldn't try.
Not to mention, she became super awkward when Fred asked doesn't she have a crush on someone (After seeing Velma go all lovey-dovey over that Archaeologist boy). She doesn't say her crush's name but it was not Fred (for that movie) as she is quite normal around him.
All of this cannot be said for sure of course, it is just speculation.

@SailorLibra idk the episode name, but it's one with just scooby, scrappy, daphne, shaggy and they are visiting daphne's parents. There's even some part where someone says shaggy is daphne's knight in shining armour :)
Daphne is a better girl for Shaggy than Velma but the best girl for Shaggy is Velma's sister Madelyn

The only Frephne in the movie was when Fred asked Daphne if she's ever been in love (in defense of Velma's behavior BTW which actually makes it more Frelma than Frephne) and then Daphne acts all shy and nervous. Logically she is showing she has interest in Fred, but I guess if you try hard enough you can think that she had someone else in mind and was just being secretive.
I liked the movie except for Shaggy pissing his pants.
episodes you mentioned. You must be a big fan; I am too lol although Idk the episodes by heart I would have to look them up. I also noticed that in a lot of the old episodes Shaggy and Daphne seemed to answer each other, like if Daphne asked a question or something in front of the whole gang Shaggy would answer and vice versa. I'll have to go back and watch episodes so I can name one where I've seen that lol even when I was younger, I always imagined that H-B liked them together.
Shaphne is based towards the 1983 to 1985 shows if you are new to the pairing. they work alone without fred and velma in almost 3 shows.
@Badboy21thekiller That was "No Thanks Masked Manx" and some clips from that episode are featured in this video. I liked that episode a lot. Not only did Shaggy meet Daphne's parents but he also impressed them both and they really liked him. Another good one for you to watch is "Wedding Bell Boos" where Daphne meets Shaggy's parents and she makes Shaggy Snacks for everyone.
BTW, where did you see the episode? On TV? I had to go to some website in like Istanbul or somewhere to see them.

@tthomas6472 They were a couple. Check these seasons: "The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show", "The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries", and "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo". At the end of the franchise they live together in the same house.
@SuperGothic13 That's okay. Most people nowadays only know of the WB version of Scooby-Doo. WB doesn't know anything about the original Scooby-Doo and still hasn't made a good one that's like the original. What's worse is they won't release the Scrappy-Doo era episodes on DVD, except for 13GSD that is.

@SuperGothic13 Well that's good, but you should try to find the episodes from the Scrappy-Doo era. That has the most proof of Shaggy+Daphne. Also, if you saw season 1, then that means you saw "Never Ape an Ape-Man", right? The episode where Daphne presented Shaggy with the Shaggy Snack that she created herself just for him? :p
@kirafeatshinn Because it was the beginning. They probably thought that the relationship between Fred and Daphne should be apparent. It wasn't until later that they realized it distracted from the show. Or maybe that was the plan, to make Frephne in a way that could not work. But there was always something between Shaggy and Daphne. Not a romance at first, but a close friendship kind of thing (Daphne makes the Shaggy Snack). And they had the most in common. Their relationship was always subtle.
The weird thing is During the Scrappy era, It was only Daphne and Shaggy there. I wonder why they were not with Fred and Velma. Hmmmmm...

It would become really interesting to see the results if the creators decide to do a Shaggy/Daphne pair and a Velma/Fred pair for a movie/tv series, just for change. While I do like the canon pairings (Fred/Daphne and the occassional Velma/Shaggy), it gets a bit boring to constantly see the same pairings.

@Fang1213 Uh, no. The video links to the right of this video have pictures of Velma's sweater. THAT is orange, and Fred's ascot is the same color as her sweater. Shaggy's shirt in that picture is like a brownish green. So all the colors are skewed a bit because of the lighting the artist chose to go with. That's why the colors are off, and Daphne's scarf is not the same hue of green as Shaggy's shirt.
In any case, her scarf is long enough to wrap around them both. An ascot is not.

@SuperGothic13 I told you that H-B did not state outright that Shaggy and Daphne were dating or were a couple, I said the episodes showed that they were through other story-telling methods. Some examples from 13GSD include them embracing each other in the first episode, or in two episodes they get the same hotel/state room and each room only has one bed, or the fact they live together. So like I said, H-B presented the Shaggy/Daphne relationship in a subtle way, but their relationship is there.

@BelieveIt1051 i think Fraphne didn't work because it was a really unhealthy relationship,it just have many problems that we can see in What's New and Mystery Incorporated,
not to mention that Daphne's recent personality was a bit bitchy,she would easily jealous and angry toward Fred and Fred's personality itself changed into a bit(much) idiot in almost all WB Scooby Doo series and movies,he would simply didn't notice or probably didn't care about Daphne's jealously and anger towards him.
too bad WB split them up and forced Daphne to be paired with Fred instead,very sad

@BelieveIt1051 by the way the episode i was talking about is when daphne brought shaggy and scooby and scrappy to visit her paerents for a cos play yup that was where i realised the shaggy/daphne couple kind of cool if they have kids then vilma can be thier nosY auntie and fred can be the worst grandpa asking shaggy's kids to solve mystery while scrappy grows up and succed scoobys position while scooby supervise

@SuperGothic13 Nah, the "Daphne owns the Mystery Machine" thing was just a fan theory. I think it originated from those who failed to see what Daphne contributed to the group as far as mystery solving went. So they assumed the MM was her contribution and that her dad paid for it. This theory has many problems though. In any case H-B never said she owned it, and they showed Shaggy having ownership in the seasons after the gang split up. WB said Fred owns it in WNSD, SDMI, and the recent movies.
@kirafeatshinn I don't blame H-B in the slightest. They were the creators. I pin Frephne's superior popularity on WB for shoving it down the fans' throats since ZI. It's no surprise that most young fans would think Frephne is the only canon pairing. They take whatever is fed to them. Remember, the stronger Shaphne days were back in the mid 80's, then the re-runs in the 90's. We old school fans have more things in our lives that require our attention. We're not as involved in the fan base.

@BelieveIt1051 Wow thank you for all that information. They are very sublte, but it's great that way. Yeah what little kid wants to watch the writers pair off velma/shaggy and fred/daphne. They wanna see scooby and the gang (with classy shaphne hints lol). I guess I've only seen the one new episode with the teacher as the yogurt monster or whatever that was. Maybe I will watch another, but I miss the good old episodes. Too bad it's hard to find any, but I think I will search for the....

@kirafeatshinn My logic says no, WB wouldn't do Shaphne unless people got really sick of Frephne. But SDMI did a lot of things I never thought I'd see in a SD cartoon. Those "writers" might do Shaphne just for the sake of having it, or thinking they were the first to do it. So with Blank gone in the next season, Daphne might latch onto Shaggy, unless he's gone too. No telling what they'll do with that joke of a series. That said, I hope the SDMI "writers" don't do Shaphne. They'll mess it up.

@Badboy21thekiller If a new series started with just Shaggy and Daphne and also Scooby and Scrappy as well, I would love it. In fact I would even be willing to pay big money to own it all on DVD. Provided of course that it was done right with good story and interaction between Shaggy and Daphne.
As far as Fred and Velma owning a bakery, I don't think that would fit their characters. They don't seem the cooking type, but we know for a fact that Shaggy and Daphne can cook.

Fred was clearly irked by the idea of Shaggy keeping an eye on the girls, but I'm sure he was more concerned with the idea of Shaggy looking after one girl in particular. It raises a good point though. Fred's usually the one staying behind with the girls while Shaggy and Scooby go after the villain. Why can't Shaggy play that role for once? Fred had Scooby, Laural, and Hardy to help him out. Shaggy didn't have to be there.

Is bad that i ship almost anyone with Shaggy. Like Crystal,Daphne and sorta Velma. But i truly think that at one point Shaggy and Daphne were gonna be a couple and explore that route but it was too late since they were having Fred and Daphne flirt but still couldve done Shaphne but the fans would be out rage if Shaphne happen since they ship Fraphne. Still give us a proper Shaggy and Daphne interest
@Badboy21thekiller Yes, and according to a source of mine, the new episodes of Misery Stink will have Daphne in a new relationship with some new character, but only for a short time. Also, Velma will have a new boyfriend who will be a new character. WB doesn't want any of the fans to find out that Shaggy and Daphne were a couple. And we know the Misery Stink writers KNOW they were a couple because they had stuff from 13 Ghosts in the show. They must have noticed it themselves.

@Badboy21thekiller Good episode. Velma isn't always mean to Shaggy. There are times where she... doesn't say anything to him. LOL! But yeah, mostly she is mean or condescending to him. In the NSD-Movies episode where they visit Shaggy's Uncle Natt, Shaggy shows her a map of all the buffets in the area. She scowls and says they (Shaggy and Scooby) are the limit, the absolute limit. She's also mean to Daphne sometimes. In another episode she tells her not to start acting like Shaggy and Scooby.

Last thing I remember WB made them a couple not Hanna Barbara. I don't recall them being a couple until the Movie and Mystery Inc came out.
@SuperGothic13 ... Uh... I said subtleties, not subtitles. And I was talking about the subtle instances that Hanna-Barbera (the original producers of the Scooby-Doo franchise) put into the original episodes. I wasn't talking about this CZcams video's storyline.
@ferlyaqua WB has ruined Scooby-Doo in a variety of ways, and that is one of them yes. And as we can see, Frephne still doesn't work. They either have them fighting with each other, or Fred looking at other girls, or both. In any case, Frephne can't last. It was never designed to. The characters are incompatible. WB might have figured this out finally. They did seem to get Shaggy and Daphne's relationship right in the Phantosaur movie.

@kirafeatshinn WB released in on CZcams for free before the DVD even came out (they have since started to charge for it). That's when I saw it. I wouldn't buy the DVD. It isn't good enough to purchase, but it is a decent movie to watch once (for free).

@SuperGothic13 Dating, for sure. Now, this wasn't overtly expressed, as in, they weren't shown on a date or something like that. H-B knew they couldn't fill episodes with relationship crap like WB does with Misery Incorporated. Kids don't care about that. So H-B made Shaggy and Daphne's relationship very strong but also subtle so that older viewers would pick up on it but kids wouldn't notice. I'll give examples, but the obvious is that in these seasons it's just Shaggy, Daphne, and the Doos.

@kirafeatshinn Worse. Even if you leave Misery Stink out of it, WB screwed up right out of the gates with Zombie Island. Continuity break, bad character backstories, characters too old, and the reintroduction of Frephne, which was done poorly. They had Daphne acting like a jealous teenage girl, and Fred looking at another woman (Leena). The live actions were even worse. All characters were out-of-character. They trashed Scrappy-Doo (who saved the show). WNSD was good, but not enough to save WB.

@Badboy21thekiller The first season is over, but CN signed with WB for a second season shortly after the first one ended. So we will have at least one more season of that mess.
The TV ratings were poor, but not bad enough to where CN lost money. They made money on it despite the contract disputes between CN and WB.
They want to keep the Shaphne thing hidden from the viewers because WB wants to keep doing Frephne and Shelma because they think that's what fans will want, which equals more money.

@Badboy21thekiller A long time. Since I was about 12 years old. It didn't come back on TV until I was 12. I was too young to understand it when it was on in the mid 80's. As I watched the originals as well as the Scooby Movies episodes, I naturally liked Shaggy and Scooby, and I liked Daphne. I noticed they were similar. Then the episode that made me think they should be a couple was Never Ape an Ape-Man when Daphne made the Shaggy Snack. I've also always hated Fred and disliked Velma.
