Great vid and explanations! Don't buy cheap non oem ebay ones, to replace it with (I have done this task 3 times, the 3rd time I bought a used from ebay but OEM (from a 2004 Tuono that fit the rsv 2000 perfectly) and problem solved. Also replaced the started relay with a heavy duty (4 times larger size), as well as the wire going to the starter with a thicker hi quality wire). A most fun bike to ride solo! The only other major problem with this bike is the charging rectifier/connection, replaced mine with one from a blackbird and I get between 13.9-14.1 volts constantly with no overheating of connections. Enjoy!

Thank for your video, i know from personal experience of a low battery, i have put load on the bike with a low battery through ignorance on my part of that starting process by unfortunately letting the battery get low because it wasn't being ridden, one thing in aprilia manual that not many people talk about is aprilia advice you to pull the clutch in on starting to help the bike start, i think from memory its to do with the sprag clutch by dont quote me on that, the wiring i didn't know about that upgrade, but u can do a 150amp stator upgrade which is worthwhile and put a heavy duty battery and uprated battery leads on it to,, mine has the 150amp stator on it and it helps,,another thing people use is a trickle charger, i use a solariser which is just that a solar panel that trickle charges the battery...oh and i scrapped the copper ngk plugs and put irriduim in makes it start alot better.

I think you have to be careful with replacement of that gasket some people have replaced with the wrong thickness and have caused running issues etc just one to be aware off.
Good vid I've used the locking tool before and a bit of heat on then flywheel .

You can use any bolt thats an inch long or longer and an impact driver u do not need any special puller or heat or engine locking tool just an inch long m22 1.50 bolt and impact driver
