I made this recipe with approx. 1lb pork shoulder and used the same cooking time for 3lbs. It was 193 degrees when done so it was overcooked but that's ok. I halved the DRY seasonings & skipped the cumin because I don't like the taste. Then I added extra oregano, salt and pepper.. I used same amount of wet seasonings. The smell was amazing just like u said! The flavor was so much better than my old recipe (Lipton onion seasoning and garlic).I can't wait for hubs to get home and try it! Thank u for showing the airfryer version. Another recipe had deep frying in lard which looked super messy and took longer. Plus it required a Mexican style concave comal which I don't have. Maybe someday but for now this recipe is WONDERFUL ❤❤
This looks so good, Chef Mia!
Thanks Kenneth! Let us know how it goes once you try making it at home! - Chef Mia

So I guess I can’t use the 5.8 non dual blaze pressure cooker for this?😢
Is there a difference if I’m using the cosori toaster oven air fryer?
Hi Joan! For the Cosori Toaster Oven Air Fryer, I would suggest making this in a disposable aluminum pan that can fit inside the oven. To cook the carnitas I would cover the pan with foil and place a baking tray accessory at the bottom of the oven to catch any drippings and increase the time from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Check on the pork about halfway through cooking and flip if necessary (if it's looking dry, flip the pork).
Hope this helps! If you have more specific questions please reach us at recipes@cosori.com ! -Chef Mia
@@CookingwithCosori thank you!
Ever try it with coca-Cola? That’s also another original variation
My Cosori Pro Gen 2 Air Fryer will not work without the crisper basket.
I never used liquid in the AF!
Hi Mark! Yes! Thanks to the Dual Blaze we're able to achieve great results for a faux braise such as the carnitas recipe! I don't suggest using liquid in our other air fryer models unless following a Cosori Chef recipe from our Vesync app or any Cosori recipes from the website. Happy cooking! - Chef Mia
why no mexican coke?
