Every time I watch one of Alex's videos i immediately want to play. Thanks for ruining my sleep pattern like no other youtuber. My favourite chess channel by far, keep it up!
I've lost a huge amount of sleep due to Alex
What I like most? Your figurative language. There is always something new 😊 „This knight is like the keys to your new apartment in the city.“ 😂 Great. Thank you.
I liked the titanic joke
Me too
Not too soon at all good joke

I'm in love with the dramatic pause before "following game"
Alex this video was incredibly instructive, your humor is just getting better and your analogies are hilarious.
I really appreciate the notes & key takeaway indicators you are now including with your videos - great learning tool to reinforce the best practices. Thanks!
I really like your lessons Alex, especially the tips that go beyond the position you're covering. Talking about slowing down, when not to take, etc. super helpful on a higher level
I have been dominating openings with this. I have either won by rage quits or lost by blundering down the road. Several I've blundered my queen and still won. Those feel the best.
Every video I watch makes me so excited for my next playing session, thank you for all the instructive tips over the course of many videos! One of my favorites to watch as well as Eric Rosen
Agree😊👍🏾
Yeah, i get so excited too, then I play and get my ass kicked. Chess is hard.
Your caro course is the most practical Chessable one I have got. I beat my first 1000 blitz opponent with it. Make a jobava London course pls.
Dude yes. His explanation of how to think of the exchange variants and how several early move orders transpose to the same-ish structure was a life saver for low ratings. Can handle so much.
Thanks for all these videos Alex, they're a lot of fun to watch and helpful too!
Your videos are incredibly easy to follow and entertaining, I have learned a lot from them. Thanks a lot. Your chessable courses are awesome too!
Going to visit the titanic 😂😂
U had to make that joke
thank you so much for these vids, just got your course and will be enjoying it very soon :)
Hope you enjoy it!
appreciate your vids alex! very instructive
Amazing instruction! Love your sense of humor, jokes, and hilarious analogies! ❤
I love how he's got the wooden spoon next to him ready to go. Alex is so funny. Only 54k subs is a travesty. If he did more commentary and guess the Elo and other Gotham type shit he would have 1 million.
Easily
This takes time though, he was a bit late on the bandwagon compared to Agadmator, Rosen and Gotham. Also 'the Count' theme felt a bit cheesy to me 😊. Anyway, much better content and wayyy less annoying than two of the aformentioned ❤
One of your best videos. Very informative with great explanations, and funny too!
Very instructive, best teacher out there. Also enjoy sense of humor, always make me laugh. Thanks
yesss! I have been waiting for this guide!
You are life saver!! Thank you for your efforts🙌
This is amazing! I never payed much attention for openings. But yesterday I just learned this opening from you. I'm a beginner and I'm using it to annihilate other beginners now Lol :) 😂.. My rapid rating is 865 but I just had the best game ever with no mistakes, misses, inaccuracies or blunders! The first game didn't go as planned as I didn't quite understand this opening, but the following games were incredible!. this opening puts you in a great position and with focusing and avoiding mistakes it's nearly unstoppable for beginners or maybe even intermediate players. It's like magic! Thank you very much bro, you are the best! keep it up✌
Thanks that u respect our appeal. That ur sound is quite low. Now we can hear fine and match is going not too slow its so nice. Thank u very much.
Seriously the best instruction that I’ve seen! Keep up the great work
I like your humor. ;))) Tx for the video!
Thank you for all the valuable information!
Came for the great lessons, subscribed for the bonus hilarious jokes and humor. A+++!
21:09 bro really said "tot ce zboara se mananca". Great video Alex, I learned so much from you!
Here's the text from 30:35 so you can copy and paste it if you want:
General rules:
Activity > unnecessary material
Trade when up material
Recapture towards the center
Trade pawns to unlock the game
Rooks go on the open/semi-open files
Double up rooks on the open file
Bring your king in the endgame
Active Defense > Passive Defense
Trade pieces with similar activity
Specific rules:
play e3 before Nf3
meet Bf5 with f3 followed by g4-h4
always recapture on d3 with the Queen
meet Bd6 with Ne5/e3
meet 3...e6 with 4.Nb5
I honestly don’t know what’s better. The chess , or the second to none commentary! 😂
Best chess youtuber imo. How you don't have more subs is baffling to me. I love your content keep it up!
Too kind!
You will be surprised how many people don't know of great channels even after looking and scrolling. CHESS VIBES ,REMOTE CHESS ACADEMY CHESS EDGE AND KESTONY CHESS are other great channels not many people know of or rather didn't until recently considering their growth. Do you know of any of these channels.
I'm pretty decent (for my rating 1500ish), in Vienna, king Gambit, alapine attack, slav, caro cann, queen indian,,, and now hopefully Jobava London😊
So fun to try out new opening👍🏾
Never played this tricky opening bc of some weird games that i lost lol, but after seein all the possibility and tricks+ plans, i'll try this tomorrow think im gonna rock.
Thanks for your content i see you'r growing its really nice for you. The format playing 5min blitz for an hour is the absolute best, i wish having one on the Scottish gambit bc i dont get to destroy opponents the way i would lol
Glad to help mate!
Great content. Just bought your London course. Looking forward to trying it.
That's different opening, you can refund in case it's not what you wanted
@@AlexBanzea I think they are quite similar, and I play both, sometimes Jobava and sometimes the regular London. My first impressions of the course is that it is very well made and thought out. Well done.
Loving the frequent uploads, keep it going 👊🏼👊🏼
Thanks a lot mate 🙌
That’s what she said…
Love your Jobava London videos need to add this to my repertoire
I love your jokes. Your videos are very instructive.
you really prepped a wooden spoon for Bd6😂
thats a great memory hook.
I‘ll never retreat my bishop again!
4 knights opening against Jobova London's fried liver-style variation leads to an even game with the e pawn shoved in the bishop's face. Shove that e-pawn out! I'd love to see a match between Chess Vibes and Alex here, Chess Vibes is a big believer in the 4 knights defense and I'm not convinced he's wrong...
Your English is great, don't worry. And I love watching you play and love your funny explanations. 😂 Good stuff!
honestly you are much better at explaining strategy and theory than most Chess youtubers.
your english is great
thanks for teaching!
One of my favourite channels, covering my favourite opening. Hoping for another match against Dina for the trash talking. Great content Alex.
Game 4 was legendarily instructive 🏅
I’ve run into black bd6 many times thanks!
thanks, i learned a lot on you Mr. Alex
Beginners rarely fall for this in reality. It's easily countered with the pawn to A7 move.
We cover that too!
1:49 I noticed that when I’m playing over the board at the park or downtown or wherever , the most common response for black after Nxc7 is Qxc7.
It’s wild but that’s what I see.
Thank you for the jovaba content!!!...waiting for some more weapon against d4...we all know that against e4 there is only one weapon
Thank you
Alex when will you be doing a Jobava London Chessable course?? It's a must after watching all your CZcams content.
The bishop and the knight go together like lamb and tuna fish!
bishop does not have an umbrella to defend loool i love these takes bro
My favorite on CZcams
I'm a little over 1200 and there's really only 2 openings I've been using. The Jobava London and the king's Indian. Would love to see you do videos like this with the king's indian.
Goin to crush everyone at chess club next Friday, thanks Alex. And appreciate the great coaching 👍🏽👍🏽
Titanic joke was so smooth 😂😂
I’ve reached the positions from game 3 against opponents up to 2300 on lichess in bullet and won. Deadly line.
Danke!
You are just a super fantastic teacher. I wish i met you in real life. I know i will improve so much more. Keep doing what you doing.
I love the dry jokes!
This opening is literally a mirror of the Italian game
Indeed, Baadur made many references to the italian when we discussed it.
At 3:38 you talk about trading pieces and go Ne5. Why not go dxe5 followed by ng5 to fork the Queen and remaining rook. At that point, the most likely outcome is a resignation.
Alex
You are the best chess teacher!!!!!!!!
Bought your caro kann course. It's great.
Do you intend a course on the Jobava?
Thanks a lot sir, I actually hired Jobava himself for a future course on this :D
This opening is very good. For once I had a plan in a game chess and opponents simply collapsed (at my level...).
HOLY BISHOP'S EN PASSANT!! This Banza dude is not too bad for a 600
Hi Alex, any news on the jobava london update against KID and Grunfeld for the London course? Cheers!
You crack me up. Hey, can you discuss the general plan at 40:40 if Black plays Bd6? I can’t seem to find it in any of your videos and it happens to me all the time. Thanks!
can you launch course on jobava london ? or kings indian attack
What do you do when bishop pins the knight by going to b4
Jobava London content = instant ❤
In your caro kann course, where can I find how to play the caro kann against the London ?
This was a great video
Go Bucs!
Axaxxaa reward with a wooden spoon🤣🤣
thought process after Bf4. What are the threats? Nc6 blocks my c pawn and allows Nb5, similar to the fried liver attack, so best avoided. e6 preparing Bb4 - O-O is probably best; downside: blocks the QB, but there's plenty of time to fix that. If you play a3-b4, chasing the B, you open up the queenside, when white's long-term plan is O-O-O with a kingside attack, and my B ends up nicely placed on b6. So you aren't going to do that, and your N stays pinned while I threaten Ne5. These "magical" opening lines are all unsound, and even a beginner can calculate 2-3 moves. Best advice for beginners is to pick one opening as white and study it thoroughly, either the QGD, or the Ruy Lopez, and one defence against the most common openings: King's Indian against d4, Sicilian aganst e4. I'm not titled, but a fairly decent club player, and a normal sound opening will win against lower-rated players most of the time, without fancy trickery. Though this is enteratining, like the fried liver..
I'm at work so haven't watched the entire video. Love the Jobava..
Did Alex mention it working for black..? Not as easy but certainly works!
Kinda tricky, but could be interesting!
@AlexBanzea when the necessary requirements are met, I'm successful about 20% of the time lol..
But it works!
How to defend Queen takes b2 when long castling is not an option.
Banzea laughing and bullying the beginners at the same time :)
Like Mike Tyson sparring the beginning boxers . Quite nasty and snakes of an inferiority complex like a narcissist indulging in humiliating a noob in any area because of their experience. Contrast that to how respectful and integrated a personality DANNIEL NARODITSKY is with beginners. Actually says a lot about your personality . I know though you could argue it's for content etc however I believe the choice to present in this way still says something of who you are. In a way it shows how socially intelligent you are ,you know emotional intelligence and all that
how should I respond to c5 by black, after the basic structure is reached? that's what my computer plays most frequently
Thanks
Do you know approximately when your course on the Jobava system might be released? Difficult question :D
I love your content Thank you!
Aprox two months, but to some things up, it will be up when it's perfect :D
Do you cover the Jobava in your London course on chessable?
I think he always gives it when black goes for g2 and let's you play e4...like a 150 atack
I haven't had much luck with it. Seems like 'hope ' chess. Black c6 or a6 on move 3 seems to equalize pretty quickly and then white has a misplaced knight on c3 for a while. My 1100 opponents NEVER play Nc6 on move 3
Thanks for teaching us! Doesn´t a newer line consist of getting the g1 knight to e5 in two moves, f1 bishop to e2 or d3 and the g2 pawn to g4 ?
it depends
@@AlexBanzea Ok, thanks.
Dude you should end each live stream with "With that being said, I think we can move on to the following game."
love from india very good teaching nit like other channels also one question this only works for white?
Ive always like your videos, but theyve gotten considerably better this year. I think youre more yourself or something....I dont know.. Thanks for teaching!
The only way to get mated in the 800-1800 range with the jobava is to seriously blunder more than once.
Although I just played against a 1900 and he fell for the Rd8# in 10 moves all because he opened with d6
@6:40 Instead of 22.Qxg7 picking up the Rook but prolonging the game it's mate in 3 with either 22.Qd7+ Kf8 23.Rc8+ Nxc8 then Qe8 mates or if 23..Ne8 then 24.Rxe8 and Qxe8 mates and finally 2 mate in 4 if 23..Qd8 then 24. Rxd8+ Ne8 then both 25.Qe8 and Rxe8 mates. Much faster than what was shown but hey, I really enjoy your stuff. Both London variations, the Caro-Kann series and now the Slav Defense.
you should recalculate, you are wrong. After 24. Qd8 Qxd8 you have lost Q and R in your first variant already.
@@jtk1996 Yeah, thanks, it is a typo. Should read 24. Qe8 mates. I fixed it.
@@derekallen1183 i see, so Qe8 was the mate i missed, lol! But Alex only had 25 seconds time left, so i guess he looked for a clean easy win, not mate.
I got taught that in Queens pawn openings if white chooses not to play the queen's gambit, then black should play a queen's gambit, so in this position I would play 2. c5 and it's a bit like playing against chigorin defence a tempo down. Is it good?
I like white after 3.e4
The Titanic joke made my interest in the video implode
Better than the original!
I love PP on the PP
Cats are like chess dogs are like checkers lol
That’s what she said😂😂
Hes going to visit the Titanic - LOL
That’s what she said 🤣
You’re my second favorite Romanian!!❤️❤️
What is the difference between the $30 and $150 versions of your caro kann course?
Expensive one also has video format.
At 3:00 in this position I would play bishop C7 and when queen goes E8 I would jump in B6 with the Knight checking the King and taking the Bishop on C8 on the next move, playable???
