  • The Blue Ridge Parkway travels through both North Carolina and Virginia on its 469 mile journey. it connects Shenandoah national park to Great smokies national park and is one of the most relaxing road trips you can do in the united states. I drove the route with my dad over 4 days and we compiled some of our favorite stops to share with you in this video.
**The entire road trip video will be posted next week**

Fantastic video yet again! Living in NC, I have had the good fortune of visiting almost all of these places and I could not agree more! for those into movies, I also love the fact that many of these sites have been used in some very famous movies over the years, for example dirty dancing, last of the Mohicans (One of my all-time favorites!), Hunger games. Also worth mentioning are the amazing mountain towns or villages just off the parkway such as Hendersonville, Asheville, Brevard, Boone… so many more. thanks again for the awesome video.

Glad you highlighted many of my favorites from Humpback Rocks down to Peaks of Otter - the AT straddles the BRP south of Peaks of Otter and to me some of the best miles on the trail. Crabtree Falls is also great in the winter when if freezes over - We say some Ice Climbers on it one year near the top 🙂

We lived in the Shenandoah Valley for 17 years right at the foot of the blueridge. Sherando lake is a good stop and is just after humpback rock about 2 miles off the parkway. Glad you included peaks of otter and the james river bridge as these were favorites of my wife and mines. Unfortunately we never got to dine at the restaurant before we left for AZ as it was closed due to the pandemic. There are 2 stops in va I recommend. One is a small water fall with old train tracks. Very short hike to put you right at its base and the second is thunder ridge pull off which offers amazing veiws of the valley.
