This is one of the most satisfying songs ever. Like the instrumentals just hit all the right spots and eve’s voice takes it to the next level.

excited for this one, Dark Night is one of my favorites because of what I think it means alone, not to mention how great it sounds, the slow music really helps with the philosophical-ness of it lol
(in short I think Dark Night is about finding a reason to keep living despite knowing how dark a place the world is)

I think the song is about a cursed person who is searching for salvation. The rope is reference to a popular Japanese story about Buddha that sends a single thread to the hell so that the sinner can get out from the hell to get salvation in the heaven.
After embracing the darkness and accept himself and his life, the person is able to reach salvation. We can see he starts to climb the rope then the dark cloud on his eyes disappear.
Well, it's more or less the same like the story of Hyakumaru that finally finds salvation with the help from Dororo
I've heard of that story before. If I remember right, he started to climb it but then the other dwellers started to climb it too. He tried to kick them off only to snap the single thread and fall back into hell. Can't remember which anime told that story >

I think it’s also worth mentioning that it’s possible that the dove might have a connection with the Holy Spirit since it first appears during the line “I was not wrong the day the voice of salvation cried” and a dove is the most common form the Holy Spirit takes in sacred art. With this you could interpret the resolution of the internal struggle against the cursed world as having happened in part due to an encounter with divine Grace, be that some kind of spiritual enlightenment with which the means to conquer the darkness is found or Providence’s hand in guiding the character to someone who allows them to “not be alone.”
Given the limited impact of Christianity in Japan it’s also likely that this is mere coincidence on Eve’s part, but it sure is one heck of a coincidence.
That could be it. There's a like a god figure in the anime that this was for and Eve does have biblical references in his other songs like last supper in how to devour life.
Another banger video. In honesty dark night is one of my least favorite songs just because of it’s nature and calm atmosphere. Also I bet next video is about Yoku or Taikutsu o saien shinaide and not about Baumkuchen End
