    thanks for the great tutorial , you're right plugins are a good way for concepts designs ( i usually use a plugin called PARAKEET ) but your tutorial the best method for real life design .

    very good tutorial explaining each step!!!
    Can you please do a tutorial for a free form brick structure or a brick vault, it would be great. Thankyou!

    This is amazing! Can it be done on a closed surface? I'd like to make something similar but on a cylinder. Thanks!

    Awesome tutorial! How can i trim off the last row of bricks on either side so that they are not staggered and instead have a straight edge?

    Hi this is great. If you wanted to add a 10mm gap (to represent mortar joints) inbetween each layer of brick- how would you go about doing that?

    Guys, download the Parakeet plugin for parametric, curved brick walls. Much easier to do (with all due respect to the channel for the detailed tutorial)

      🙏 analyzing masonry is difficult. Maybe Rhinovault

    hi! thanks for tutorial, i wonder that can we adjust the different brick size? I mean If I want to design different size of bricks and adapt them onto surface?

      You're welcome :) That's going to be more complicated and I think you have to do it with Loops (Like Anemone Plugin)

    Hi, thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!
    I would like to build a dome out of bricks. Of course your tutorial doesn't work for the whole dome, so I split in four parts, but they brics are still not perfectly arranged. Do you know a way to solve this Problem?

    • @ParametricHouse
      @ParametricHouse  Před 5 lety

      You're welcome Felix,
      The problem with closed NURBS surfaces is that the U or V Iso curves reach a point and this tutorial will not give you the desired results. I guess I have to think about this for future tutorials because it's more complicated than you think! You have to go for iterative design and use the Anemone plugin to put bricks on each row, step by step!

      Thanks for the fast reply!
      I'm working on this Problem for a week now (it's my first advanced project with grasshopper). Even if I try to cut the dome in 16 parts and straigthen them so the just bend in one direction instead of two, there is still the problem that the bricks are taking the angle of the Surface like the should in a dome but still remain like wall.
      Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?

    Hi Rhino Grasshopper, great video!
    I wonder if it is possible to render that wall with different brick textures, in a fast and simple way? Because every brick is its own object, how do I give it realistic sense of variety? Is there a way to select multiple textures and apply them so that the render looks realistic?
    Or how would you do if you wanted to render ut this wall?
    Would be very glad if you could help out. I really want to use these techniques for my thesis project.

      Hi Antonius... unfortunately I don't have much experience with Renders :(

    • @jolu1621
      @jolu1621 Před 4 lety +1

      You can seperate the boxes random or with a pattern and bake them in rhino into different layers. Create lets say 5 to 6 different brick material variationes and asign them to the different layers

    awesome tutorial! I have a question tho, how would a brick layer build this in real life? how would he know where to position each brick? Maybe he just needs to be an excellent bricklayer?! :)

    • @ParametricHouse
      @ParametricHouse  Před 5 lety +2

      One of the ways you can make it is to have costumized cnc milled pieces between the bricks to give the right angle.

    • @arambadr7342
      @arambadr7342 Před 5 lety

      @@ParametricHouse would you recommend any grasshopper methods to help with fabricating the cnc or lazercut wooden pieces to align the bricks ?
      i usually
      01- use the contour command to get the outlines of the bricks angles .
      02- draw the rest of the wooden pieces between the outlines manually on rhino (draw lines , trim , extend etc... )
      03- arrange the pieces and numbering using G-nest plugin for lazer cutting .
      but maybe be there is a simpler method ? especially for step no 02 ?
