- Akkaravadisal / akkara adisil is made majorly in Iyengar homes similar to sakkarai pongal. Main difference being the texture, milk proportion in the recipe. Milk sweet pongal for Koodaravalli Festival.

Ingredients
½ cup Raw rice
2 tbsp Moong dal/ paasi parupp
2+1 cup Milk
½ cup Water
½ cup Jaggery
2 tbsp Sugar
¼ cup + 1 tbsp Ghee
1 Cardamom
6 Cashew nut

அக்காரவடிசல் / அக்காரடிசில்
தேவையான பொருட்கள்
½ கப் பச்சரிசி
2 டீஸ்பூன் பயிற்றம் பருப்பு/ பாசி பருப்பு
2+1 கப் பால்
½ கப் தண்ணீர்
½ கப் வெல்லம், (கோபுரமாக அளக்கவும்)
2 டீஸ்பூன் சர்க்கரை
¼ கப் + 1 மேஜைக்கரண்டி நெய்
1 ஏலக்காய்
6 முந்திரி பருப்பு
எப்படி செய்வது?
1. ஒரு குக்கரில், அரிசி, பருப்பு சேர்த்து, அதில் தண்ணீர் சேர்த்து நன்கு கழுவி, களைந்து, தண்ணீர் வடித்து எடுக்கவும்.
2. பிறகு அதில், 2 கப் பால், மற்றும் 1/2 கப் தண்ணீர், ஒரு சிட்டிகை உப்பு சேர்த்து, மிதமான தீயில் 3 விசில்களுக்கு பிரஷர் குக் செய்யவும் (நேரடியாக பிரஷர் குக் செய்தால்). குக்கருக்குள் தனி பாத்திரம் வைத்து வேக வைத்தால், 5 விசில் வைக்கவும்.
3. அடி கனமான பாத்திரத்தில் 1 ஸ்பூன் நெய்யைச் சேர்த்து, முந்திரிப்பருப்பை சிறிய துண்டுகளாக உடைத்து, மிதமான தீயில்
பொன்னிறமாகும் வரை வறுத்து, தனியாக எடுத்து வைத்துக்கொள்ளவும்.
4. ஒரு டீஸ்பூன் வெதுவெதுப்பான பாலில் குங்குமப்பூவை ஊறவைத்துக்கொள்ளவும்.
5. அதே பாத்திரத்தில், வெல்லம் + 1/4 கப் தண்ணீர் சேர்த்து கொதிக்க விடவும்.
6. வெல்லம் கரைந்ததும், வடிகட்டி, தனியாக எடுத்து வைக்கவும்.
7. இப்பொழுது, அரிசி வெந்திருக்கும்.
8. அரிசியை நன்றாக மசித்து, மீதமுள்ள 1 கப் பால், குங்குமப்பூ சேர்த்து, மசித்து, நன்கு கலக்கவும்.
9. நன்கு ஒன்று சேர்ந்து கொதிக்கும் பொழுது, வெல்லம், சக்கரை, சேர்த்து, நன்கு கலக்கவும்.
10. கடைசியாக, ஏலக்காய், நெய், வறுத்த முந்திரி சேர்த்து 2 நிமிடம் நன்கு கிளறி அடுப்பை அணைக்கவும்.
CUP MEASUREMENTS
Measurements used in all the recipes, unless otherwise specified. My cup measurements are as follows:
1 Cup = 240 ml
½ Cup = 120 ml
¼ cup = 60 ml
⅛ cup = 30 ml
1 Teaspoon teaspoon = 5 ml
1 Tablespoon (tbsp) = 3 teaspoon = 15 ml
2 Tablespoon = 30 ml = ⅛ cup
4 Tablespoon = 60 ml = ¼ cup

Will the milk curdle when it us boiled with jaggery? It happened when I had made.
No it won't, starch from the cooked rice will prevent from splitting. Just make sure to mash well and make it creamy before adding jaggery.

😋 yummy...while pressure cooking rice with milk won't come out .. aa?? Ur cooker is not too clumpsy. That's y I asked u.. any tips...to avoid it
It will slightly. You can try putting whistle (weight valve) after steam comes and then put flame to medium. If you feel it's overflowing too much for the first whistle, you can switch off immediately and wait for 10 mins. Then after that, again give two whistles. I follow this for pongal at times 😃.
