  • Me playing drums to Willie Wright's version of Right On for the Darkness, a song written by and originally done by Curtis Mayfield. This video is definitely Lo-Fi at its best (worst?). In the 60s, the studios had 4 track recordings. This is one track. LOL. Anyway. This was another song I had on my little MP3 player and thought it would be a fun song to play. There's a drummer and at least 1 percussion player that I can tell. The drummer plays it pretty straight without many extras. The percussionist(s) seem to be the one driving the song. I played it free form and played it my own way. I did a couple excellent recordings, but the drums were too loud. It was like Hammer of the gods. For some reason for this video it was really hard to get a good sound mix level between the song recording and my drums. I finally got an ok mix here, but I had to lower my drum level to point point where I could barely here my drums.

The mix sounded good to my untrained ear. I thought the flute kind of balanced it out. Good job!
