I don't see what's so confusing about this quest, it seemed pretty straight forward to me
I guess it depends on the player. Like I am able to follow Kingdom Hearts' storyline pretty well, but I am well aware on how much it confuses people. My fav game of all time gets very philosophical, but I know it has confused players because of it (it's Eternal Sonata btw). So yeah I found this quest pretty straight forward too.
You should really do Baizhu's story quest, if you haven't already!
Its trully a shame that you didnt enjoy this quest. I personaly disagree that Yelan has no backstory in this quest. This entire quest is dedicated to Yelan's work. This quest showed Yelan's character and how she does her job (I mean her team etc). As for the "revolves around NPS" part, they revealed the essence of Tianshu Qixing's work. If we add Uncle Tian to Ningguang (under whom Yelan works, roughly speaking, she is Qixing spy) and Keqing, it turns out that these are only 3 of the 7 qixings that we know. I think it's a pretty interesting piece of lore and worldbuilding, much like the clans from Mondstat, the Tri-Commission from Inazuma, and the darshans from Sumeru.
This quest also confuse Me, but after digging a bit I get the gist, then I forgor everything now, I can watch your reaction kinda "blind", lmao
