    I love that they do this one in warm up suits. It's like ironic in a way. Casual while their moves are always perfect precise and formal

      its probably from editing to remove all the objectionable content. LOL Not sure how I feel about hip hop that has had all the cuss words removed from it. This definitely is along the lines of what Future Champ is saying. Removing the grit from hip hop changes it

  • @ChampMannyRey
    @ChampMannyRey Před 5 lety +7

    Great routine, clean.. but wouldn’t really call it hiphop....

    • @mommaherman
      @mommaherman Před 5 lety +6

      NDA called it hip hop. Number one, national champion hip hop.

    • @ChampMannyRey
      @ChampMannyRey Před 5 lety +3

      Marilee Herman understood, BUT as a life long b-boy, down here in ATL.. this routine would get obliterated in a true hip-hop battle.. I acknowledge this is a great routine and very very clean, but it is simply a jazz routine over a hip hop track.. I’m really not that bothered by it as a dancer, I just wanted to make a small comment to state a small FACT. When you see true hiphop dancing, you feel the raw emotion. It’s a culture, a way of life, an interpretation of the struggle of the streets. Again, mad respect to this group!

    • @sgdfnd2497
      @sgdfnd2497 Před 5 lety

      It’s NDA hip hop. All of their genres don’t match with industry standards. It’s really strange to me honestly.

    • @kenbret3170
      @kenbret3170 Před 5 lety +3

      TopRouder so if your not from the street and aren’t struggling you can’t feel that raw emotion. It’s a culture, are trying to put race in this as well? This is hip hop your just use to your more trashy style.

    • @ChampMannyRey
      @ChampMannyRey Před 5 lety +6

      1. Correct. How can you translate or interpret raw street emotions, if you have never been in that situation? Now I am assuming here that most if not all of these talented ladies aren’t from an impoverished background and lived in the inner city, now I could be wrong on that since I have no personal knowledge of any of the ladies, BUT given they go to BYU, I’d say my percentage of being correct is higher than being wrong.
      2. Yes, hiphop is a culture. I’m sure i don’t have to give you a history lesson on who, where, and how hiphop came to existence.
      3. No, I’m not putting race into it in any way. Like I said, hiphop came from the hood, and the hood is not exclusive to one particular race. There are many races that help mold the hiphop culture, White, black, and Hispanic.
      4. No, in my professional opinion, this is not a straight up hiphop routine, in fact, there were more jazz/fusion type moves over a hiphop track.
      5. As I stated earlier in my second post, I am a bboy, not sure how that is a trashy style, but okay. They even added some breaking in this routine, so are you are saying these beautiful ladies are trashy?

    I agree w Catrina. I thought "there were some really awkward transitions in that music". The transitions broke up the audio flow. The audio was grating to hear : - (. The dancing was great to see. :- ). I rate the whole music video a C.
