  • A simple process on how to change "in air handler" filters for ICP fan coils/air handlers. What's shown should work with any ICP branded air handlers like : Bryant, Carrier, Heil, Tempstar, Payne, Weaterhmaker, etc.

    Finally a video where the filter is actually horizontal! My filter has wire in both sides (Filtrete 20x25x1, Merv 13, blue on the sides). “Air coming from the bottom and going up” did it for me. Arrow is pointing up. Thanks!

    I’m so confused. If I put the arrow pointing up towards the unit, the wire side is at the bottom 😢😢😢😢😢
    Which why do I put it?? Wire side up or arrow pointing up towards the unit?

    • @AIRMANHVAC
      @AIRMANHVAC  Před 9 měsíci +3

      Sounds like a misprint, the wire mesh reinforces the media to aid in the filter not warping. I’d say wire on the unit side

    My door has screws on each side that holds the door on . But on the door it says 20x22x1/4 and i can’t find a filter anywhere that size . So I bought a 20x22x1 and you can’t get them out you literally have to tear it up getting it out. What should I do . I just bought the house last year .

    @AIR MAN I have a question, if you don’t mind. 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ My drain pipe is in front of that little door; I can remove the door, but the drain pipe prevents me from installing the filter. Do you have any tips on how I might be able to install it?

    • @AIRMANHVAC
      @AIRMANHVAC  Před 2 lety +2

      Sounds like the drain needs to be “rerouted” so it’s not blocking the filter from going in/coming out. You’d need some pvc cutters, pvc glue, different fittings and possibly some pipe. You can also contact a reputable licensed HVAC or Plumbing contractor for that specific task.

    When you pushed it in does it have a spring like mechanism? Mine just doesn’t seem like it can go in perfectly. Most of the time half of the filter gets sucked in.

    If I have a filter down in the living space (mine is in the ceiling where the air get sucked in), do I still have one (a second one) in the furnace unit?

    • @AIRMANHVAC
      @AIRMANHVAC  Před 8 měsíci

      It’s best to filter the air once. You’ll have to check if you have one in both locations and remove one or the other.
      Filtering air at the “air handler” is best practice in my opinion. This way insures that all of the air entering the unit has passed through the filter.
      Whereas if the filter is at the start of a return duct and the duct has any leakage, that introduces unfiltered air into the return duct, air handler and supply duct.

    • @Kube_Dog
      @Kube_Dog Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@AIRMANHVAC Thank you for answering. Hopefully people in your local area will see you care and give you some business. Since I posted, I opened up the unit and could not find a filter anywhere. The intake duct is round and flexible (not metal and squared) and runs clearly visible from the ceiling intake to the back of the upright furnace unit. It is taped and tie-strapped directly to the unit with no metal box or space where a filter could slide in. On the inside, it's wide open into the chamber so no filter there. So, I seem to have only the one in the ceiling. Your preference for one at the unit is 100% logical. Also, I feel reassured that a pro like you has said it's a possibility but not a certainty I have two. BTW, it's a 1050 square foot townhouse, so a small space and not so much air handling/flow. Goodman unit about 25 years old. Just wanted to share my story and thank you again for caring. Liked and subbed.
