This is the most underrated fishing channel.
I don't know, I rate it highly!

We start from the bottom lol im waaaay down right now lol
That was as much action as anyone can expect. Great day of fishing. Excellent video.
Really brought back memories. I miss living so close to the surf! Thanks so much...
I know you list the gear used...but for us novices...can you please show how you rig bait...hook size...set up...and general area you fish...thanks...nice video
Fantastic job looking into the lens!!! Looking like a cinematic professional!!
Great video ! I remember surf fishing in San Diego years ago. We were using fresh muscle from a local jetty as bait. After catching several sand sharks, it was perch heaven there after. I'm inspired to try this again ! 😀
Those Daiwa BG reels are the best bang for the buck.
It's the best fishing channel!!
It's funny how when you're trying to go for surf perch to catch stripers then when you target stripers you catch surf perch
Maybe I should just target salmon and see what happens...haha
@@DieHardFishing for the fish finder rig what size weight are you using ? Thanks
peaceful fishing in the nice beach, I love it.
Killed it bro
Keep up the great content!!! I checked the description in the video and didn't see what kind of hook and size you used also what kind of leader. Thank you for your content. I've never gone fishing for surf perch and hope to try for father's day or my birthday in a couple weeks. Thank you Adam!!! Amazing content!!!!
Omg, now I want to get my surf rods out. That water looks so.much better than down south. And your the only soul out there. Be safe
Great vid. Keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
I really enjoy your videos. Informative, you catch fish, and you seem like a nice guy. Keep em coming!
I appreciate that!
That was epic!
Epic day dude! Congrats!
dang you killed it out there! nice fishing!
Wow, that's a day of surf fishing! Nice work!!!
Yes it was! Thanks!
Right on awesome fishing!!
Smashed it adam! Big thumbs up
Solid solid video 👍👍
Nice video. Thanks for sharing it with us!!!
Wow! What a great spot!
nice work, keep killin it bro!
Great vid
Those fish seem to be transitioning into another species. We have stripers stocked in lakes on the TN River system. These are fish from the Atlantic that have been introduced. They have almost uniformly unbroken lines. Cool vid.
Ask your dad about the Calif striped bass stamp which we older anglers had to purchase every year. The money was misused for duck hunting and DFG was ordered to raise striped bass as part of a refund policy to those buying striped bass stamps. These bass were breed with White bass to grow faster producing a hybrid strain. These hybrid strain have been cross breeding ever since replacing much of the original strain brought to CA in 1879. The hybrid strain do not grow as long but grow extremely round with the white bass genetics. Some of the hybrids look like Arkansas river striped bass exceptionally fat for their length. Monster Calif aqueduct stripers are typically hybrids.
California considers all three variety as potential threats these days and wants measures approved to control populations where they can be a nuisance species . DFG in its infinite wisdom took hundreds of thousands of hybrids and released them in southern Calif lakes, the Calif aqueduct, obscure sloughs and locations to dispose of them post a fake study that blamed striped bass as causing the decline of anadromous species notably king salmon. Water stripped from the CA delta caused the problems plus water diversion funneling salmon smolts into tight locations changed natural Delta escapement rates for affected anadromous species .
I worked for the DFG as a seasonal aide in the 1980's and also helped raise and release hybrid striped bass. When you get a true full line striper with full black lines, purple and dark blue body colors you have the original strain. The broken line lighter colored variety found heavily in the Salinas and Pajaro rivers are mostly hydrids. Does location of spawning detrmine whos who? t oa degree yes. The hybrids have expanded south and typically a species multiplying and expanding is numbers can be a good thing but some question what it might do to species that have not seen these bass. Example will a Santa Barbara Calico bass see a striped bass as a predator or just ignore it as a non traditional predator thus make that calico bass in danger of easy predation.
#3 Calif State AB measures have been defeated for CA anglers but the state has divided policies for the same species. Nor-cal and Central anglers pay for the right to catch two 18 inch specimens per day and Southern Calif large mouth bass anglers who do not like them eating their large mouth bass consider them a pest and kill them like unwanted carp which is frustrating to Northen and Central Ca anglers. Landlocked specimens have had the time to grow huge in obscure locations and offer trophy hunters an opportunity if you do the research .
The full story and battle regarding water rights and anglers is a long novel to read but this is the condensed version.
Wow thanks for sharing the information I found that enlightening ATB Spam 😷
I remember the stamps but did not know about the settlement or hybridization project. Fascinating! Thanks for the info!
@@SpamMusubi308 You can read the longer version regarding the history of striped bass in California to verify the truth spoken here from both the California sports fishing alliance and the California striped bass association . phishing scam ? weird
@@TimLPINE The California sports fishing alliance and the California Striped bass association both have literature for further understanding of "WATER RIGHTS" vs California fishery species. Its a very complicated game to say the least with many moving parts but ultimately "WATER RIGHTS" is the prize at stake. Many younger anglers fishing for striped bass never knew the Striped bass stamp ever existed nor knew how hybrid striped bass came to be so i put a couple paragraphs on Adams site per the question raised regarding striped bass.
Its troubling to see Striped bass labeled as villains eating salmon when both species has record juvenile index numbers and a century of cohabitation. What changed was the removal of water . Also the sneaky ways the DFG labeled striped bass to get out of court ordered rearing projects and at the same time the state taking vast amounts of water.
There are legal cases everywhere in this battle hence the need to speak in general terms. Personally been fishing for striped bass since 1965 and seen the state of California's policies on striped bass from many different anglers as a angler, working for the DFG and advocating for their survival
@@jimbo4612 now if we could find a way to stop the depletion of water in Central California and revive the farming industry we'd be better off in the long run
Enjoying the surf fishing videos! Just subscribed.
The water is gorgeous past Pacifica right now. I was at Montara Beach on Wednesday and the water was SUPER clear. I could see dungeness crab huddled in the breakers 20 feet away, and spotted and helped out a stranded mola mola caught on a low tide sand bar. Got a couple of nice keeper dungies on the crab snare back-to-back. Now if only I could catch a fish...
Can't complain with keeper crab!!!!
@@DieHardFishing Very true. Those dungies were amazing compared to the ones I normally fish up from Baker Beach. Super clean exterior and super sweet meat.
Stripers are excellent eating. I caught 3 nice ones from the bank this spring.
Man oh man . .love all the comments people put here. Anyways...you are doing an awesome job. Keep fishing and we'll keep watching! Oh yeah!!
Nice to have the beach to yourself!
Awesome fishing
Love your videos
Digging the slo-mo. Those were beautiful specimens.
I watched this on my phone so I couldn’t tell if you were using circle hooks or not. It looked like at least one of those fish was hooked before you got back to your rod.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I was using a standard octopus hook in this vid, no circle hooks
Dude I am shock great fishing!
Boom! You make it look so easy. Definitely hard locating fish in the surf. I don't know if it's my setup or I'm just missing something. I tried the hi low right, the fish finder rig and casting hard baits, no luck. Thanks for the upload.
You can do it!
You should have way more views! You're killing it. I'd take your stiper problems!
Wow tons of action 😯
Those are Whipers. Nice catches bro!!!
Really cool video bud 💪
If I could have one day out of the year as good as your normal day out I'd be happy
I am impressed with your handling of the Striped Bass. You use very mild hooks to not damage the Stripers. From New Jersey.
Yes ser
Nothing beats a good day fishing.
Your channel is really cool
Good catch👱so many fish😁
Surf perch have gone missing this year!!!
Holy cow thats good. I tried for about 3 days from pescadero up to HMB and got like 2 small guys. Weekends are dreadful though, just too many peoole
Those pesky stripers are a terrible problem to have Hahahhaa great job as always brother keep it up
Tell me about it, haha
Im gonna hit the water soon because of you. Great day fishing
You should show us what rig you're using, size hook, skier , leader , bait. Would be helpful.
I agree, It looks like a pyramid weight, 18” to 20” mono leader on some braided line. Location and tide chart I formation would be good to know. Wow he had a killer day!
Nice video bro 👍🏼 exactly wat Martin said, it’s funny how you, Jun, and Edward fishing for perch but keep hooking on stripers🤔🤦🏼♂️ 🤪
But I finally got a few!!!!
If you want to catch surf perch use 18-24" leader with swivel and 1oz egg sinker. Put on a motor oil color curly tail crappy jig and #6 hook. Through out as far as you can and reel in fast, they like it fast. Look for spots where waves are not breaking as it's deeper and fish hang out there. One weekend I and kids caught 72. Best tasting fish in the ocean!
Never thought I'd hear someone complain about catching stripers.
Nobody else out there fishing?
Hey, try fishing sand crabs. Put a offset hook straight up thru the knuckle of the digger and straight up thru back. And try this winter for barred perch. Your living the dream
I'm going out tomorrow morning for perch and probably hook only striper....I wish. Great vid Adam!
Good luck!
Nice catches and I hope they tasted delicious 😀
Fishing is fun I wish I have a opportunity learning & fishing with u love your channel .
Actually I'm heading out tomorrow, I want to catch myself some red tails. Here in southern oregon we dont get any stripers, but they do north a little. Well that was. Good day of fishing . Great video thanks
Good luck!
Strippers that have broken lines are hybrid, on the east coast we call them brody's bass in the state of Delaware.
Fishing low tide looks like about 9 am before the wind picked up
ALWAYS FISH THE RIP! sand crabs and sand worms, doesn't get any better!
Great Video can you please show setups more still trying to learn how to fish. Thank you
Do you do catch clean and cooks? Love new ideas for eating fish. Just started incorporating fish into my diet.
Yes I do! I have a playlist of all my catch and cooks in my playlist section!
Where is this beach? Uh not going to tell 😉. It’s his secret spot.
Maybe nearby santa cruz
Could you do a video where you show how to fillet the different types of fish you catch? I’ve seen you catch halibut, striped bass, perch, and others. It would be nice if you showed the best way to fillet each type of fish. Thanks!
I've yet to get on a striper and all I catch is surf perch... maybe the trick is to target surf perch 😂
My wife would have sent me to the dog house if I released those keeper stripers
lol, better not show her this video
Die Hard Fishing yup my wife would’ve done the same thing...😂🤦🏻♂️
That was great day. If that was recorded today, you are lucky w/that blue sky. In SoCal, it is in the 60s w/thick low clouds.
Don't you ever hook-up on Leopard Sharks and Smoothhounds?
the hole of all holes🤯
The SUPER DUPER HONEY HOLE
Would really appreciate it if you would cover your terminal tackle & bait/lure choice - looks like bait. I was using sand crabs medium to small size filling up two size 6 bait hooks. Caught 3 red tails 2 of which were substantial. Had many more bites. Any input on hk size & positioning when hooking up bait?
Dude you were on fire! What size hooks were you using?
Here in SoCal, we would die for the Stripers mostly Barred perch. Each one is about 2 fish tacos. Hard to filet if you don’t know how. Sand crabs, within 15 feet of the beach is my best way.
Never been saltwater fishing, (I live in AZ), but this looks REALLY fun! What is a typical bait you guys use? Might have to roadtrip to Cali.
🔥
Baja coast has the best surf perch fishing. If you ever want to head down let me know.
You ever come up into southern oregon? gold beach and cape blanco have huge hits! would love to fish with ya bro!
wow!! i went fishing today looking striped bass and ended up catching striped perch =(
Hey Adam. Are you usually able to catch red tails at the beaches around HMB and SF? I'm usually only able to get them when I go up towards Stinson Beach or Bodega Bay.
Hey would you consider adding a little info about the set-up your using? like" today we're going with Carolina rig 1-1/2oz sliding egg sinker to a 3ft #10 mono leader to a #4 bait-holder hook with a Berkeley gulp sandworm" for example 🤔 ATB Spam
Great video! Did they hit on a high to low tide?
‘Tis the season for striperz.....in Cali it’s almost like it’s all year long.
FISH ON! FISH ON! WHAT BEACH ARE YOU FISHING AT?
i have no idea obviously but I'd guess somewhere between Monterey and Half Moon Bays
@@jacksongould4263 ?????
if you've been there, you'll know exactly where he's at
Hey good luck
When you put your rod in the holder..do you loosen your drag to let the fish take bait away ..or do you keep your regular tension on your drag ?
Adding comment so I can learn too if anyone knowledgeable enough answers
You should always reduce your drag light enough so when a big fish takes your bait it won’t pull your whole setup into the ocean. You may not see it in his video, but when a fish is on, it actually pulls some line out because he loosened the drag. Hope this helps 😊
it also depends on where and how you are fishing i feel.
in the sandy surf like this a fish could pull your rod in but it will drag on the sand some and you would have a chance to run it down before it disappears into the water. the reel will be full of sand and maybe best to rinse it of in the water before trying to wind up the fish. i had this happen once on a 26" striper. but fishing off the rocks, where the shore meets the waves is steeper, you can definitely lose your rod and reel. ive never experienced that but i did see the results of it once. i was fishing off the berkeley marina area and snagged a line. i kept pulling it in until i realized it was connected to a reel and could hear the drag clicking. the next morning and low tide i came back and went out into the bay and pulled up a $400 rod and reel.
i think of drag as protecting your line, but when i set the rod down with the "bait and wait" approach, i set the drag now to protect the rod and reel.
I agree, it depends on the type of fishing you are doing. In this particular video, I set the drag and don't change it when I put it in the rod holder. My pole holder is sturdy enough that it won't be pulled over
@@apark4449 keep your drag loose so you don't lose your rod if a good size fish hits
Waking barefoot in the sand is the best....Looked great...Cheers Jeff
Awesome AWESOME DAY!! Question.. why does no 1 like eating smelt?
Great video wish i was there!!
if you guy like to catch sea perches then move to oregon ,we have tons of them here and you can fish with real fishermen .
Yeah move to Oregon
sanh lao oh no I’m not a real fisherman I’m sad hahahaha bro we got plenty to catch here and plenty of real fisherman
What size reel are you using. What size would you recommend if not light tackle. Also is that a medium heavy or heavy rod. Thinking of doing some surf fishing.
What type of hook do you use?
Nice vid pal. What type hooks are you using?
Oh Poop, another keeper striper. Will I never catch a surf perch!!!!
I was out on the 4th and state beach was closed had to go to half-moon bay to many surfers and people. where do you find your fishing beach?
That was crazy. What kind of tide?
I wish you would show your setup and lure/bait
There is never a day you catch too many stripers, Never !!!!!!
very true
Nice catch! I’m trying to test out my moon theory. When did you catch those fish?
Last week
like how you call it a slow day 9:23
Question. Barred surf perch are tasty but get pretty mushy. Ant tips on preventing or working with the mush?
Great vids. Love all the awesome content!
Keep them in ice...
Keep them in ice..
@@seanthor8750 Hmmmmm. I always throw them in the cooler on ice for the short trip home then put them in the fridge until dinner time or whatever. Maybe the fridge isn't cold enough? My fridge is pretty cold I think.
