- After spending Thanksgiving with our families, we packed up the van again and hit the road heading towards Zion National Park! With sandstone mountains towering over an emerald colored river and plants ranging from pine trees to cacti, this park quickly exceeded all of our expectations! We went hiking on as many trails as we could and luckily, we scored some permits for the infamous Angels Landing trail! We even had time to squeeze in a little rock climbing too ;) Honestly, we never had any plans or intentions on visiting Zion National Park but we’re so glad that we did and recommend that you do too! Enjoy :)

I hiked it this past April. The permit system is seriously flawed. Long story short, I went into the canyon on the frist shuttle of the day. Then I just poached it. To bad the National parks made me feel like a criminal. I drove out there from Vermont I was not going to be denied. Glad I went to Zion, but never again. Way to many people for this Vermonter.
Well I’m awake now! Loved seeing the first person perspective!
I break out in a cold sweat when climbing an 8 ft ladder, you guys hanging off the side of a mountain. Epic “home video” montage…NICE!!

So glad you guys got to experience Zion! My first time there was in March so probably similar conditions. I also went in with no expectations or knowledge about the park other than Angel's Landing. I don't think there is a single picture out there that can prepare you for what you'll see coming out of that tunnel from the east entrance. It's just absolutely unreal. We arrived in the late afternoon and it had been cloudy and raining. But the sun decided to make an appearance and the lighting was just something else. I will never forget that first drive into the park.

I made my wife hike up there a few years ago to propose to her. She hated and loved it. I bet it’s nowhere near as crowded as it used to be before the permit system. Glad you two got to see it!
The permit system is kinda nice! Plus off-season keeps the crowds minimal

We really loved Zion, such a beautiful place to explore. Nothing is ever what you expect it’s certainly important to get out there and experience as much as you can in person but it’s nice to be able to have video since we aren’t able to do everything. Beautiful work!!

Zion NP is one of my favorite places on earth! I spent a summer working in Kanab, Utah several years ago and would drive up to the park quite often on my days off. This is so beautifully put together! Excited to have just discovered your channel 😊

Have you guys been to City of Rocks Nat’l Reserve in Idaho? It’s about 7 hours from Minden. I’m not a climber but I visited a few weeks ago. Cool place. Gotta stop at the Alamo Outpost Steakhouse. Great burgers.

Climbing in the cold! I bet that's rough. Hopefully you work up a sweat enough to warm up. I like hiking in the cold but biking in it not as much, I never seem to warm up. I couldn't imagine climbing. Nice video!

you guys should put window covers up when you bring hazel to NP’s- usually they’re pretty strict about leaving your pet in the car despite any type of weather and can fine you for it! just a heads up :)

Greetings from Canada. My wife and I did Angels Landing in March 2019 when we were in our mid 60's. We didn't need a permit, we just got up really early and cycled up the road from our campsite. When we went here was a LOT more people up there compared to what you've shown especially when we were on our way down. I'd really like to know the time frame of your videos, we always camp in the off season so it would be nice to where to go and at what time of year too.
Our videos are almost always 1 week prior to the release date :)

Do you add movement to your tripod shots? It seems all of your shots have subtle movement and it is so aesthetic!

I know nothing about climbing, but it appears that in some places someone has already drilled in “bolts” that you can hook to? All you have to do is trust them?
That’s pretty much the gist of it! That’s what they would call “sport climbing”
