This is one of the best demos I’ve seen. The way you explained the specs was great especially liked the comments on these “digital” pickups. The playing was phenomenal and I heard incredible tones. Definitely put this model on my to-buy list. Thanks!
The fact that they packed all these cool features for like 899 is great! I seriously wouldn't of thought twice if this cost over a thousand. Going down to my guitar shop because they said they have a couple of these. Will probably leave with a guitar honestly it looks so cool.
*This was a great demo and great playing. 🏆 I enjoyed how you went through all the sounds.*
Tried one yesterday. Build and fit was awesome. Felt super and played very good. Yum.
Absolutely fantastic review, you earned another subscriber.
Great review, strongly considering buying one myself🤘
I’ve watched a few videos on this, and your demo is the best. None of the others showed the two single coil tone variations, or were as detailed . You may have just convinced me to buy this.
@@OliRoyer well I went ahead and bought this guitar in the Yellow Tiger’s Eye finish. It’s as good as you said it was. Took a while to get used to the asymmetrical neck, but know it fits like a glove. Thanks for the video, Glen Fricker’s piqued my interest, yours was the deciding factor. Keep at it, great video.
Awesome review man! Just picked one of because of your vid! It is definitely unique! And i love it!
Thanks for the best Prophecy demo on you tube and going through all the sounds! Although I'm more of a blues/rock guy, I think this would work!
Brilliant review! I've been looking for a V-type guitar - and this might be worth trying. Also, subscribed! Great channel, mate!
Great review, thx.
I got the blue aged tiger gloss sg, I love it! Looks great, sounds great,is great!! Epiphone really makin some nice guitars now! Your reviews are excellent!! Watchin your reviews got me to buy the epiphone firebird and epiphone flying v! 👍
I got the red SG. I love it more every time I pick it up. The Fishman’s really kick ass, either on a tube or a modeler. I had it plek’ed from SW and only had to file a couple sharp fret ends. I’m completely blown away by this guitar, better than any Gibson I’ve owned.
Great review, I want one! Would you recommend this guitar for a beginner?
Great playing too!
Subscribed to your channel👍🏻
I'm going between this and the extura. But I also kinda want a locking tremolo bridge. I saw the esp ltd arrow 401 which looks intriguing as well as it has the locking tremolo but this guitar looks so promising.
I've got one of these and I can agree the neck feels quite big but overall it's the best guitar I've ever owned
I already have a 2020 58 flying v I'm still debating whether to get another 58 or get one of these, awesome review 🤘
@@OliRoyer comparing necks and playability between the prophecy flying v and the 58 which one would you prefer?
Can't argue with intro tone coming out that EVH rig
Hey dude, awesome review! I was wondering though, what is the fret material on these models?
Love it already 😍.
Love my Les Paul!!.. matched so well with my Katana MK2 artist..
I feel kind of embarrassed that I caved and purchased the Jerry Cantrell LP model that was just released .. been watching videos to reassure myself and they really are .. these sound awesome and if there was any tone shaping based on Jerry's guitars it can only be better than expected .. and the shop did condition the fretboard and re-string and adjust action for C# drop tuning as well
This guitar is legit!! i have 5 other USA Gibson flying v's and the Epi is just as good.im not saying it's better...but it does hold it's own and is better than some of those 5 I own!no joke...i recommend this guitar.
I want one now
Congratulations for the review, you have been very professional and objective I believe. Great job. It's been a while I would like to buy a flying v, I'm now uncertain between this Epiphone and Gibson flying v tribute b2 and the great doubt is about that Gibson neck because I'm afraid it's too slim for my big hands (I can't try them because of pandemia). What do u think about those 2 neck about this question? Marco from Italy
My epiphone prophecy flying v was broke within a weak factory defaults exchanged it for a good old esp Ltd black metal
Hey Oli, first the review was really good and detailed. Which pick ups do you prefer, the Fishmans or the pro buckers on the 2020 Flying V? I'm not sure which Flying V to buy.
@@OliRoyer thank you for your feedback, much appreciated :) Since i'm mainly a blues player and i like the classic design, i think i will go with the 2020 Ebony V. I will give a look also on the review you posted for the Explorer vs V.
Hey man!
awesome review on this gorgeous Guitar!
nice job!
and can you help me?
I've been looking at Flying V's for a while, and i wanna make a right purchase.
and i also found a 2007 Epiphone Flying V Korina made in Korea.
and i'm kinda conflicted, which one should i get?
this one?/Epiphone Flying V Prophecy? or this one?/Epiphone Flying V "2007" Korina?
and also the other option is Hamer XT Flying V's
but what do you think? :33333333
Hey @Oli I prefer playing as you did here in a classical position. And I need to know! How did you accomplish the ease that you were playing sitting down here did you have something attached or is that how comfortable it really is to play!?
Almost bought one of these, but then found a mint condition 2016 Gibson Flying V Pro for nearly the same price. Fully bound, 57 and Burstbucker 3 pickups, and of course nitro finish and made in the USA. I still want one of these - the Fluence pickups really appeal to me, but the Gibson was too good a deal to pass on. How many flying Vs does someone need? I guess the answer might be "one more" but the budget has been blown for now!
As many as you want. The FF pickups intrigue me as well. I have two Epiphones, great guitars.
Score!
I'm not sure I'm into these FF pickups.
Funny coincidence, I happen to have one of these prophecy flying V's as well as a 2016 proprietary flying V. If I'm totally honest, I prefer playing the Gibson. The neck feels a lot nicer and is more familiar. The body is also heavier, so the neck doesn't dive as much, which I found to be an issue with the prophecy.
That being said, the fishman fluence set is the sole reason I own it.
My proprietary V sounds awesome, but it's a one trick pony. The different voicings on the prophecy make it an extremely versatile tool. You can tweak a usable tone out of it from death metal to dire straits.
The biggest draw for me would be the 24 fret board. I've never played Fishmans. But I'm probably going to score a Gibson SG Modern.
You can never have too many.
How is the balance of this guitar when you play standing? Does the headboard roll down?
Is it NECK HEAVY ? Or is the weight correctly balanced (meaning it sits well on the shoulder and the neck doesn't dive down) ?
Thanks in advance for the answer.
Cheers Oli
loved
Hey Oli I've always looked down on epiphone guitars, would you say that this guitar will be disappointing to someone used to playing premium guitars? Cheers!
Nice
Did you buy it? I have the explorer and love it to death (metal)!
I want to see what you think 1 year later. Did you buy one? If so, how do you like it?
I am highly resistant to anything but traditional passive pickups.
That resistance is beginning to waiver.....
Does the pickups has connectors? For future upgrade when I'll purchase it
Hi Oli do they have stainless steel jumbo frets?
I came for The Flying V. Found it! But now i wonder… where is Silent Bob🤣
I noticed they moved the strap button from the back of the neck to the side of the body, does it feel better or worse comfort wise? Also, does the guitar have neck dive?
Horrible neck dive .I had to move the button to the back .fixed it 😊
I cant decide between this or the ghosthorse
What's the riff at 20:39?
Have you played Extura? If yes, which one do you prefer and why?
What would be a good basic amp for the Epiphone Flying V Prophecy guitar?
I just can't decide which model to go with - v, LP, sg, or Explorer...
My favorite guitar to play METAL !!!!
Could someone change pick ups to emg and if yes would you recommend it?
You could, but you’d be taking a step back. These are better than EMGs.
Can anyone tell me which prophecy model would be ideal for me....the flying V, the les Paul or the Xtura..... My playing style is drop B tuning for chugs and riffs on the fat strings not much leads and solos, genres being nu metal, post grunge, altern metal......
is it a neck through ?
Hi - did you have any issues with neck. Dive?
This or Brent Hinds? Or olive drab? Im so confuse..
I'm so pissed I missed out on these
I wonder if i tune this one to C standard will it be good? I'm playing mostly in C ty \m/
I have issues with buzzing strings when downtuning to C
Why did they place the output jack on the top wing??? It hangs, doesn’t look practical.
Started playing hair guitar in 1985 when I was 15. A year in, I got a Gibson V like Kirk Hammock. That's what my ex called him. She wasn't a genius but she had a gorgeous face and a smokin' 80s hot chick bod. It was impossible to play sitting down. Hated it. Played great, though. Traded it for a BC Rich Mockingbird with cloud ☁ inlays and way too many knobs and switches. It's a big dollar piece today. A real Bernie Rico. No regrets there.
Wish it came in white
if they had put a floyd on this, it would be perfect.
You still could with the Floyd Rose FRX, I might explore that route if I do decide to buy this guitar
Great ax but not a fan of the output jack placement
Hey Oli, how is the neck dive? I'm really considering getting this, but the comments from some folk is keeping me from it. Appreciate if you could help.
Cool demo but clean demo isn't really clean ?
I DREAM OF A FUTURE WHERE U CAN BUY A GUITAR AND ITS READY TO GO WITHOUT A SET UP
PRS…
Since you sell epiphones, do you know of any hard cases that fit the epiphone prophecy futura?
Idk why but I personally feel that the fluence humbuckers on "PAF Mode" does not actually sound like a PAF style humbucker . That's why I prefer emg het set or the pickups generally found on Jackson flying Vs.
Oh man that’s cool! Just stainless steel frets away from being perfect.
@@OliRoyer for sure. I also didn’t realize it was 899 US for which given all of the features is a nice price point.
Extra Jumbo
Yeah bro sure but will thst alien nutt ever replace a actusl bone nutt
I just won that frm a other channel🤘 😂.🎸🏆🤯💨.o.m.g.!!!!
They really fucked up not just doing a regular explorer.
Never say PAF - say P - A - F
Whoop ! Ghosting...
8:05 "synthetic buuoonee"
Anyone have battery issues?
Should have left the necks satin rather than gloss.
tests sustain by wiggling the string....
im always scared to get one of these bc the reviews are always bad lmao
An Epiphone is never good only "good for the price" or "a lot of guitar for the price".
I bought one. Yes they look great and sound good with the Fishman Fluence pickups. But I dont like the lacking overall feel it has. The neck will not adjust out all of the fret buzz unless you raise the bridge much more than you would like it to be, also rough and sharp frets. I think "Made in China" says it all. So No, its not a Gibson!
Really?, tailpiece adds nothing, amp supplies the sustain, great review otherwise
Top heavy. Huge dip when standing and playing.. it’s Decent if you change out the pickups . The neck is only 24.5/8 I had one. Sold it for ESP black metal arrow. It smokes the prophecy every which way. Period. Try an ESP 25.5” scale neck , black ebony fret board and emg 81 pick ups ,the esp black metal arrow , try yourself then play the the prophecy. This guy is blowing smoke up your butt the guitar he’s playing is crap dude it doesn’t feel good in your hands at all compared to ESP or BC rich. Try yourself and you will see this guitar sucks on stage.
The Fishmans ruined this guitar for me. Actually active pickups suck.
I'm oldschool too, but this pickups aint no slouch to begin with.
its not them, its you.
You probably just suck at guitar dude .
