- Rocky Rakoon is an internet animator, mostly known for their work using popular characters such as Loona from Helluva Boss and Roxanne Wolf from Five Nights at Freddy's. I was so interested in this man's work I decided to create this video to try understand him more, and there's alot to understand!

I am with you like, I first subscribe to him when he joined the mordetwi meme thing, eventually, the fetish animation got a bit too much for me, so I unsubscribed

Most good artists and animators I've come across always have that "side" of them. You can't fight nature, and you can't fight gravity.
Am I the only one who thinks Rocky's animations look kinda weird? I don't mean they're bad - they're really smooth and expressive. It's just that every time I see them I feel like there's something weird that I can't quite place my finger on. Something about the way the characters move I guess? Almost too perfectly and repeateably, like theres no weight or inertia to them

I think this is due to the fact he uses only puppetry animation instead of a mix with frame by frame. Even the fingers are rigged when usually, good puppetry animated show, has different frames for the hands, making them frame by frame. In Rocky's animations, EVERYTHING is rigged and most of the ear and hair movement seems to be calculated by the software (I don't know if you can do this in toonboom but I'd assume yes because I have seen it being done)
So basically this is a collection of the stiffness of the characters moving smoothly and the physics that are rendered by the engine and not man made.
^^^^ They're too stiff. It looks like a cheap 2010s cartoon, but least those would add some more motion now and again

Probably because he uses rigging animation. All the stuff he needs is there. Just move the parts around and you don't have to draw a single frame.
But even with that, yeah it's weird how quick he makes a new video like he already got a new idea everytime.

I remember seeing this guy on shorts, his videos are a hell of a drug trip but the art style doesn't seem that bad. He could've done it to create a family friendly webtoon instead of fetish-fueled elsagate videos.

Truth be told, despite having kind of a rocky history (no pun intended), his animations are kinda beautiful. I could kind of see him finding work i n he animation industry if he wanted to pursue it
Fr tho he just is using it for the wrong things.
He did a short film that actually is really good and underrated among his other works. It's a shame that he kinda just wants to play the algorithm. One of the worst cases of wasted potential I've seen

Whats mostly todays problem is how youtubers take notice of something going viral and milking the most of what they can that they forget about the quality or what others think of their channel. I don't think it's necessarily bad, but people still should take it into consideration.

There's a certain level of pragmaticism you need to abide by as a furry, accepting the good with the bad, that people are whack and they are not obligated to make sense to you, etc. Being ridiculed by members of the furry community doesn't make Rocky any less of a furry if he so chooses to identify as one, he's just another user on the worldwide web, making rounds and expressing desires. There's absurdism in it too, but that comes naturally with maturity

I personally don't think cringe is anything to care about unless it's actively hurting someone, it does feel a bit like keys jangling in front of my face with the things I'm supposed to like (mlp, helluva boss, etc). I can't tell if I feel like I'm being looked down on by this guy for being expected to like such vapid entertainment, or if he's just really, really into mashups in a way I'll never understand.

I've actually used to been an observant of Rocky Raccoon's channel during their rise, and you can actually find a lot of info from the community post tab itself (unfortunately buried within piles of announcements). There was at one point of evident decline when starting his meme animations (I remember seeing only 10k views per video in one week and even almost quitting the entire channel), expressing a certain lack of monetization, while also receiving some infamy within milking trends/soft nsfw usage of characters. And he used to sell most of his models in Gumroad, before relying on CZcams shorts and Patreon in gaining cash. There was at least the thought of a human operating the channel and creating these videos; But in just a year, his channel is now reduced into the very capitalization of his talents, to appease a child demographic.

But at the time, alot of these songs and different things were pretty popular in the animation meme community. He just- Did it in a weird elsagate way-
I feel like channels like theirs are ruining the animation community (more then it already is) and honestly people say “animation community” people would think of my story animated or some cringe overrated stick figure animations to overused audios
He also kind of scammed me. During a livestream he drew me a character and said he was going to tag me and post the finished product however I still haven’t seen it even after 1-2 months.
I am sorry that you got scammed. Sometimes it takes time to wait for a while for your character to present but it may be a scam to take.

I suggest reaching out to him. Sometimes artists forget they had commissions in progress, and the dude has a constant flow of content so it'd be easy to loose track.

While it is nice he is making more “original” content with his ocs. Most of the shorts are very suggestive and he 100% is targeting it towards kids. Especially since he has had the characters in lots of the videos dress as characters that are NOT made for kids. Plus he has a link to his Patreon made specifically for people to pay to see the uncensored version of an outfit. Plus he definitely s**ualizes his dog character a lot. Same with…The horse thing? If he could stray himself from that and maybe get to making like- an animation series with them. Rather than random trends with the ocs. As well as toning it down on suggestive content (if he continues to make it for kids) then I could see his future being much brighter.

He makes child content but I'm pretty sure he just also wanted adult friends thats also likes his content witch is why its a little sus with the paytreon, he actually has a pretty good 18+ Discord commuity now where everyone is chill, a minor tried to join once but they were instantly band out of the server and the patreon, I am very proud of him since he's been taking criticism very well and learning from the past, I want to see him grow and thrive, over the few years I've known him he's always listen to criticism and been considerate, I just hope he keeps growing for the better.
I agree. I don’t think Rocky’s a bad person, or a pdf file. I think he just needs to figure out his audience better. Recently he made a community post essentially venting his frustrations about all the people who call his content cringe and brainrot. I suggested that he should learn his audience more and cater towards that, and he actually hearted it. Since then, his content has been about the same, but I think it has started to get a little more interesting as he’s adding more new characters, and some hidden lore (like Flo’s brother). I kinda just hope for the best for his content, and his new show supposedly coming out next year.
@@RudeRabit yeah he's been doing way better over time I'm so proud of him, I'm actually had admin of his patreon discord server, he takes the server very seriously and we always ask people for their censored IDs to show their age on the card to make sure no minors joined, 2 minors have tried to join in the past but they were instantly banned and removed from patreon.

I'm actually kind of happy that he's no longer just using other characters and sexualizing the hell out of them. Even when I first watch the Loser Meme (i was there when history was written), I actually did feel he had real potential and even commented on his video saying that his animation style was really nice and clean. I remember being super discouraged with the brain rot videos he made but I'm glad he's turning over a new leaf (thank god)

He was just some odd youtuber that made strange content, we got a little close but then his main account got hacked and we haven't talked much ever since.
