Sounds like a smart decision. Aren't console owners usually more focused on bigger titles or at least the more mainstream/popular ones on XBLA, rather than on indie games? By comparison, I think there could be at least as many, if not more purchases of this game from Steam for PCs...
The very last puzzle in this game has been unsolvable because people in the fez community have been trying to figure it out for two years and have no solution. Basically the creator Phil fish is a massive troll
You're just saying that because of the negative feelings about him for other reasons. The puzzle did have a solution, the problem was that it only made sense in his head, and outside of his head it was quicker to brute-force than try to reason it out with no clues.

Developers who make games full of deep cryptic secrets often have an interesting relationship with their player base when designing those secrets, trying to give the players as much to figure out as possible to keep them going for a long time, and I think Phil just went a little overboard with that. Somebody on Reddit or somewhere did come up with a reverse-engineered idea for how you might have been meant to get it, and it involved the release date for Fez, which I think would explain why they don't have any hints to it in-game (in fact have a very conspicuous lack of a hint in the torn-off corner of a treasure map): they couldn't actually come up with the code when they were doing the graphics, it had to be added in just before the final build was sent to the publisher because the release date wasn't set until then. But there isn't any other evidence to confirm that that's what he had in mind, so it might be entirely false.

It should also be pointed out that Renaud no longer works for Polytron, so he's not going to know all of the future plans. He also did not say it was coming to windows, he said "FEZ is being ported to several nondescript platforms". Again, people choosing to assume he means pc because that is what they want.
