    I thought they were going to discuss eSports, but only a small number of highly skilled players can make a living doing that, and you'd have to be in a country where it's really popular like South Korea. Crypto has the potential to provide economic security only if you're well versed in the space. It's much easier to lose money because of all the different tokens that exist and people panic selling when they see short term price action.

      Tbh making an "eSports" out of this game is unlikely since the combat is so luck based and the "skill" is just people gambling and guessing opponents moves and the critical damage system is also just stupid and we don't like having RNG elements in competitive games.

    The major problem here is that it seems non of the interviewees realises where this money (that they get from the game) comes from. It does not come from some form of useful production, construction, manufacture etc. It comes directly from the pockets of other players than come into game after you, after you advertised it, they LOOSE money that YOU gain, because you got there first. Eventually, there will be no more "suckers" or "fools" that will come into the game, and the system will crash spectacularly. And the society, as a whole, will loose.

    • @nushia7192
      @nushia7192 Před 2 lety

      And how is that different from buying in-game items with real money?

    • @nushia7192
      @nushia7192 Před 2 lety

      Atleast the money circulates, and just does not only end into the hands of the devs alone.

    • @nushia7192
      @nushia7192 Před 2 lety

      You also do not understand how it works probably you must understand it first. You people called the domain buyers fools and suckers just like before, but without them there wouldn't even be: facebook/youtube/twitch/twitter.

    • @ScienceDiscoverer
      @ScienceDiscoverer Před 2 lety +5

      @@nushia7192 Its very different from in-game purchases. In-game items is not promoted by the devs as "investments" or way to "earn real cash". It's there only with the purpose to support devs and/or get some SWAG/more enjoyment from playing the game. Yes, you can potentially sell your account by telling somebody your password, but this is strictly forbidden and will likely result in a ban. Crypto money does not circulate the way you think. You cannot buy anything using it (except drugs and guns ofc). The only people that can profit from crypto are miners, people that convert it to real cash and few lucky smart-pants that cashed out their crypto early "on the rise". The rest of the society will only loose, not profit from it. It's not overall wealth gain, its redistribution of wealth with gambling.
      It seems that its you that don't know the fundamental info about crypto. I recommend you to google "crypto is ponzi" and "pump-n-dump" and reading some articles, watching some videos to educate yourself. Facebook/youtube/twitch/twitter has nothing to do with crypto whatsoever. "Suckers" is not a derogatory term here, it's financial term used in ponzi and pump-n-dump schemes. Synonym of this word is "bag holders". Again, I recommend you to educate yourself on this matters.

    This is nice interview but I wished they also asked about the initial investments or cost required before starting in Axie Infinity? I've heard that many Axie players are not independent/solo players but are "employed" to play. So I wanted to hear whether those interviewees were part of Axie groups with informal employer-employee relations. If yes, what were their conditions on playing and what are the agreements on salary? I also wished they ask other people who doesnt know Axie or who knows Axie but didn't choose to play it.

    • @xDCloudStrifexD
      @xDCloudStrifexD Před 2 lety +4

      basically people with extra axies (managers) can lend out their axies to scholars to play. in return they get a cut of the scholars' earning. so basically the scholars are playing with no starting cost, while the managers are earning commissions from the scholars

      So this is what I could answer so far as an axie scholar (employee). A manager needs to buy a team of 3 axies for 1 scholar to play. 1 team could cost around 1k to 1.5k USD, but rn with the situation of crypto in general, the value is going down real fast. To give an example, mid last year, the value of SLP is 0.42 USD right now its 0.01 USD. So the avg player rn would barely make some money. I personally had a 60/40 cut and I was required to get 120SLP daily which is insanely high for a beginner/just starting out (the minimum avg is 75 since most players could achieve that).
      Edit: 1k to 1.5k USD for a team is overpriced and that was the price for it last year, you could buy a team for less than 500$ now

    • @jiyenshu3624

      Managers ( they manage the 'scholars' aka the players)
      Scholars (players)
      60% - goes to the Sponsors/manager.
      40% - for the scholars.
      the salary is on SLP, so it's really not fixed and is based on performance

    In my perspective, most Filipinos are more open and risk-takers when it comes to these new investment platforms such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs, but this might also be a downfall if they are investing just for the hype or for the hopes of earning huge amount of money in a short period of time. I, too, have invested in some cryptocurrency coins so I know how volatile it is compared to classic investments like stocks and bonds, the highs and the lows are much greater. But I did a lot of research about the organization behind and purpose of the coins I have invested in and only invested the money I am willing to be taken away if ever the value of my investments go bearish (or else I just hold and wait for the right opportunity to sell based on technical analysis and indicators). All in all, whenever you have the plan to invest on something, do a plenty amount of research and try to not focus on one portfolio to invest in, diversify it rather.

    I'm from Manila and in my opinion, there are more people playing here, but maybe it's good for the government to know that they make money from playing so that the government will be aware of the real issue in the Philippines that people are paid low, so they are looking for a way to I still earn a lot of money, the government is numb here in the Philippines and it's corrupt, so the others prefer me to play and earn that kind of money, but in reality, most of those who play are just good at games and I have a higher knowledge of games. I don't know how to play. It's a game but if I learn that, maybe I'll just play too

    they are not solo gamers, they are sponsored, BIG difference in the amount of coins/money earned. the solo gamer/worker has to do everything, i.e. buy the axie, train, compete, earn, know when to sell/hold earnings, stake, defi, etc... while the sponsored "gamer" just plays n gets paid. so it really is not a "play to earn" model, it's more of a "sponsored to get a pay check" model until the ponzi money runs dry. they don't have or even know how to make it a self sustaining ecosystem.

      It's not the way to fight poverty. Contrary, its actually very dangerous trend and this is the reason why USA and EU is considering to completely ban it. At least, if you invest in company stocks, it goes to the company and boosts economy.
