Why Study Women in 'Q' with Sara Parks

Dr Sara Parks introduces the text that lies behind the gospels of Matthew and Luke - to which we give the name ‘Q’. In turn, this allows her to study what this text says about women - and when this theme is studied we see that Jesus often gave the exact same teaching to both women and men. Thus Q shows us that Jesus used a gendered rhetoric; and in Q we hear an echo of the earliest preaching.
