I didn't see any videos on this and figured someone else may want to do it so I made the video.
Just got my new Buckmark UDX today (the one with the rosewood grips). After recovering from the fun of watching your videos - which I love, I decided to take off the disconnect. Did it in 90 seconds and I'm not a great gunsmith.
Next stop will be swapping the trigger spring around. All that before even shooting the thing..
+leboucdetrambly Once you've done the spring flip you're going to have a brand new gun. Does wonders for the pistol and is pretty much an easy modification.
Try to find one without the wrap around grip, you'll be glad you did. They're a lot easier to fool with than a Ruger and I'm really liking them.
Well yeah .. he is holding me right now .. Thank you Ray for the back rub!
Sorry for the delay in answering, CZcams sometimes scrambles the comments up. hell, I may have already answered but I couldn't find it :) Not using a hammer on one of these vids is a rarity :)
The next video I've already made, I had a few problems,lol. :)
Glad you liked it, I semi enjoyed making it,lol. I never really know what to expect :)
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm on my way there now.
Another great video Chuck and informative.
Good to see Rudy. Poor little guy doesn't have enough toys though. lol. Good job my friend.
It's a done deal, lol. Got another gunsmithing video in the can that didn't go quite as smooth :)
I missed using it too, lol. We (Eric and me) miss your vids :)
I have Rugers because they are true classics but a bit of a challenge to tear down. I'm loving the Buckmarks because of the ease in disassembly and they too are very accurate.
Thank you, I enjoy the challenge of taking them out :)
I wish my Ruger SR22's were this easy, I'd operate on them in a heartbeat. If you came back as Rudy you'd have it made in the shade, lol. :)
Thank you. Believe it or not he knows every one of them and searches sometimes till he finds the one he's after, lol. He makes me laugh :)
They are indeed. I think I picked these up at Harbor Freight. Handy like a post hole digger.
Thank you, glad I got it done without the problems of the last one I did. I'd like to take them out of my SR22's but that ain't gonna happen, sounds like an M&P. Give you nightmares :)
Thank you and I appreciate your watching. The Buckmarks are good, solid pistols and not near the headaches that the Rugers are. Glad this vid went smooth, these things can go either way in a hurry, lol. :)
lol that's alot of toys for your dog gotta keep them happy, good to see it went easy for you.
Outstanding!! You are becoming quite the CZcams gunsmith!!
I've got a few myself, Salty. Duct tape sometimes works better than factory parts :)
Thanks Chuck. I will be trying this on my Buckmark.
1,000 times easier than the M&P22 pistol ... I removed the magazine disconnect and it was bear. Didn't bother videotaping it after I took a look at how it worked because I knew it would be a nightmare and I'd never be able to capture it's intricacies while completing the job. Nice job Chuck!
Remind me I'll send Rudy a toy for Christmas. OOOHHH what I do? LOL! You made that look too easy. Not even a hammer on the table:))
Thank you. Going into these things blind makes me nervous but I figured it'd be easier than the last one and wanted to show how it's suppose to go :)
Great video bro! I have been eyeballing these guns for so damn long! when I get one, I will be doing this, no doubts about it!
Thanks for this video, I appreciated the info!
With steady hands you won't have any problems and you can always change it back :)
Nice, much easier than the disconnect on mark III. Great job
You'll love it. Field stripping them is a dream compared to the Ruger. I still like the challenge of the Ruger though. I'm into 10/22's now. Damn, there's a million things you can do to one including converting it to shoot shorts :)
Great info there Chuck, glad you didn't need the hammer on this one although that might be required for you to squeeze one off..... i'm not sure!
Peace, David
This went fairly smooth. I never quite know what to expect when I do these videos "live". :)
My buckmark micro does not have the groove or the disconnect at all. How is that possible?
Not having a micro I don't really know but it has a disconnect somewhere that can be removed I would think.
Love the video. Now when I can find/afford a Buckmark, I can remove the only annoying thing about it. Thanks for the Upload!
If I could get one I'd drive it,lol. I drive a King Ranch F250, which I love dearly :)
It's easy, not a problem to do. My first attempt was with wrap around grips and I ran into a little problem but in hindsight it was no big deal.
That went well. I was up until 2:30 last night trying to change to tip up on a pocket clip. I finally got it this morning with some sunlight. :)
Thank you for the video
You told me you shook it out, I thought you were talking about the disconnect. Probably talking about something else :)
You got that right, lol. Only a pro goes about it with a "I'll fix you or break you" attitude :)
You me worried for a second.....but just for a second.
You make a valid point. :)
u da man chuck! good job bud
He doesn't have the room, his tent was being cleaned:) The camera was just out of frame, in case:) I got it done by the skin of my teeth:)
Just got through bleeding (again) from messing with that standard Ruger that got me the last time. Gotta do something with that thing before I bleed to death.Oh, it'll fire for sure but I can't vouch for that yet :)
I'm up that early, couldn't wait to beat the hell out of this thing and now I feel cheated. ;)
Glad you didn't have to wait in line :) I can't resist taking the disconnect out of all my pistols that I can :)
Brain surgeon and heart surgeon on the side :) Never had a patient that lived through surgery :)
400 am ?? Chuck, I've got to wonder why you put those front sights on .... Will I ever get to see you shoot it?? lol !!
I may start moon lighting as one. You could never be me, the journey to where I am would kill you :)
That buckmark seems like it would give the mark III a run for its money. But its a nice looking gun for sure.
I feel for you Robbie, some of those MK III's have led me down a similar path. Doing something like this can be rough on the nerves :)
True and a helluva lot easier to tinker with than that Ruger :)
Came close to doing that on the next "smithing" video :)
ty sir! I enjoy all your vids, get you dog a toy your meanie!
Thank you. Yeah, poor dog is growing up poor like I did as a child. He's being deprived of the good life, lol. :)
after following your vids I have come to the conclusion you once where a doctor operating on brains!
Right.. : )
Hell Yeah ! , Great Job ! , You Da Man ! ...
Yeah, I was a little disappointed, lol. Almost reached for the hammer out of habit :)
Hugs and kisses!
It keeps you from being able to fire without having to magazine in the gun. Just gets on my nerves. In the case of some, particularly Rugers, it prevents the magazine from freely falling when the mag release is pushed.
I need to get me some of those dental style picks. They are really usefull.
No blood spilled in this gun modification video that is a positive. Of course your never really sure everything went right until the live fire test. :)
Sweet shooter my brother
Thanks David. If that damn suppressor stamp ever gets here I'll shoot the rifling out of this thing :)
Could ya tell, lol. I thought things were fixing to head South for a second :)
But... Why to remove it?
Magazine out is an additional security. When you are training, you have the magazine inside the grip.
Browning has designed if for a better security. So, when magazine is out you have peace of mind. You pistol has a safe system activated.
Great vid! I just did one on my grandpas .22 Woodsman, would you take a look and give me tips?
True. A true pain in the ass except for us master gunsmiths :)
I would remove those unwanted parts too.
Another coincidence. You two coming over here together. Always another male I noticed. :)
Thanks, hoss.
It was a struggle but it's dpne and as of yet hasn't caused me any problems.
I got a hammer for every job. Just ask me next time you need to do any gunsmithing, I can send you one of my hammers. Oh and some duct tape in case you mess up :-)
No hammer was used during the making of this video :)
Had I just had some idea what was there I'd have gone in there like I owned it :) Shit like that makes me very nervous :)
Like BUTTER no hammer needed 4 am are you up that late or up that early?
Pretty much. Gets what he wants when he wants it,lol. :)
Rudy is the boss
He gets them weekly. I don't buy them, she does :)
How ya been doing? Yeah, much easier but I get nervous anytime I go into a firearm. One false move and I get in way over my head :)
They're just a pain. When in doubt take them out :)
Way to go Buddy, no problems. Almost boring LOL.
Aren't you the handy one, kinda missed the hammer not making an appearance lol.
Bingo! :)
lawyer parts!
Rudy and I share :)
Lol! I may just have to build a gun from raw ore up :)
You just hate that disconnect on any of your pistols don't ya:-)
Awesome job, and you didn't use your hammer...lol :)
Haha! If you block me .. You got to wonder?
Who will be out there to torment you ..... That is a nice as me!!? ;-)
At least :)
Easy Peasy. :)
:-)
Make that "hammer". :)
Then you would have a good excuse to use your hammer! LOL
Check with me before you leave, I've got connections :)
So I can see :) You'll probably not get to see me shoot, you'll probably be blocked by then :)
Love the gold trigger. I'm trying to picture what you drive. I'm guessing a black Cadillac Escalade with the gold trim package and bull horns on the hood.
