      From firsthand accounts to his own writings, Mark Anthony was notoriously funny, I recall reading at a time they were at war he approached a Italian city that had treaties with Rome; the prefect was explaining the laws of the city not being required to Garrison a Roman army and in the middle of it. Anthony burst out “stop your quoting of the damn laws, we’re armed!”😆

    To this day HBO's Rome is still in my top 3 favourite tv shows of all time, so underrated yet stunningly brilliant and so sad it ended with only two seasons, i think we all would have loved this masterpiece to go on and on, instead they began production on....... Game of Thrones, The woman who plays Niobe and The guy who plays Brutus both had roles in GOT with HBO which makes me kind of sad as i much preferred their character's in Rome, they were wasted on GOT. Hardcore Rome Fan.

      Honestly, it wasn't that good. It took too many liberties with the actual history. It also didn't have any battle scenes.

    Mark Anthony...what a great role. The actor did a fine job of it. Watched this series twice and enjoyed thoroughly each time. Wonderful overview of that time period. Ray Stevenson was riveting as Titus Pullo. Sad that he had to leave us at such a young age.

    People Dare say Antony is bad general that's not true at all search up battle of phillipi 2 battles and he was caesars right hand man performed very well at the battle of Alesia , Obviously he a Beast Fools All of Them

    • @zikkimeister215
      @zikkimeister215 Před 2 lety +3

      Antony showed potential in rallying men and leading them, but when it came to tactics he always fell short, his campaign into parthia and the several battles against the roman senate showed that he was a good right hand man, but not a general like caesar or pompey, let alone his extreme fuck ups while he governed rome in caesars absence. And the battle of Philipi was not won by some genius troop maneuvering fuckery like caesar was renowned for, Cassius commited suicide cuz he thought Brutus had lost his part of the battle, Antony won by sheer luck, still a better leader than octavian tho
