Ty for sharing, for the separators I use the long leather thin straps. I cut close to 3 holes. Round out edges with scissors and sandpaper. Makez it easy on fingers pushing though for me! Happy beading!
When you thread the shells, you started in the middle then weaved between top to bottom ending in a side. But you skipped that part, When in the middle did you go left them at side go over the middle so you can see the other side of the middle strand?
That’s my question too. 😅 I think she works from the middle out to the edge, then weaves back through all of them back to the middle where she started, and works her way outward again.
Okay, where you tied it off, BEFORE you hit that step… did you go all the way thru the shells again to get to the bottom? How did you do that part?? Lol did you have to loosen everything up to work the needle thru the hide?
She mentioned she was using a size 10 bedding needle. I use the same size and hate how my needle breaks all the time. You can also pre pierce your hide with an awl so that no matter what size needle you use the hole will be big enough to easily pass through. Hope that helps.

Are the shells delicate in the earring? Is there anything you can put on them to make stronger. How about coloring them?

Why do you use sinew vs another thread like nymo? Is it bc the dentalium will cut normal beading thread?

use glovers needles they have a tri point at the top and are much stronger than regular beading needles.
I like to use size 10 for my size 11 seed beads and will be totally work for this project too

You should stay on camera when you thread the dentalium. I couldn't see anything to use as an example of how to for myself.
