With the closure of The Australian pink diamond mines they are no longer able to make the pieces so they sell them at a discount. Pink diamonds are An investment that will appreciate Significantly, And the prices really skyrocketed in in 2020. But since Tiffany's pieces never ever go on sale this is a smart choice. You do have to ask the store however because they don't advertise. I picked up mine in the Las Vegas store and more metropolitan areas have a better selection.

I’m from India and live in Dubai. Both places are crazy about fine jewelry and we have such a culture of buying, collecting, passing on our jewelry for generations! We favour 22/24 karat gold though. It’s quite the craze. 😊 I myself have inherited jewelry from my great grandmother, keeping it all for my daughter now and I also keep buying for myself… it’s such a joy!
I had 22K gold ring and it looked very orange, like a cheep costume piece and it didn't go with the rest of my 18K jewelry at all. I sold it with no regrets.

I started my collection a few years ago my first purchase was a D diamond that was internally flawless in an 18kt Henri Daussi setting. I also found a site that only sells VS diamonds that are F or G for really good prices and they are all handmade.

Tiffanys will give you tiny plastic backings to hold the hoops in place. Get the smaller ones - they may look too small but they fit snugly to give you piece of mind. I never wear my hoops without them.

The backing is so tiny you can't even see it because it snugs up Close to the back of your ear. I'm going to take a picture right now and change my profile picture so you can see what I'm talking about

I am more of an estate and antique girl myself but i am loving being introduced to some more modern styles from classic houses. I never would have glanced twice at roberto coin before you and now im obsessed. I love textured gold and his craftsmanship is insane. I have some insane victorian and belle epoque pieces and a few art deco beauties like an original white gold setting from the 20s with punchthrough delicate filigree all around the band and original side diamonds and saphires...the center stone was missing. I chose a stunning padparaska pink sapphire for my own nod to cartier art deco. It came out absolutely stunning!!!!

Jodi can you share your perspective on jewelry insurance for an entire collection? I use Jewelers Mutual for my most costly pieces and likely should add more pieces, but not sure how to gauge what to cover vs what not to cover. Meaning, what makes sense to cover vs what doesn’t. So far, I’ve covered anything over $3k, but should I add more pieces? Also I have had trouble finding a local appraiser to appraise my entire collection,so that’s a real stumbling block for me, since I have a lot of vintage pieces. I’ve never had to make a claim but I’ve heard great things about Jewelers Mutual since they only insure jewelry. I don’t really have any friends or family with a collection commensurate to mine who systematically manages their collection as you do, so I don’t have someone else to ask about an insurance strategy. Totally understand if you feel cannot discuss insurance or whatever on this public forum but my guess is you likely have a great strategy in place! So Any thoughts would be appreciated! -Jenny
Hey Jenny. As far as mine go, I have group insurance for items that are not that expensive. They all go in a pool together. Because the thing is, if you don't insure your 1k, 2k pieces but you wear multiple pieces together, or store or travel with multiple pieces, you run the risk of losing several things at once. So while $1000 may not seem worth insuring. If you lost 4 pieces worth $1000 each you have to replace them all for $4000. So that's my logic about that. Hope this helps. ❤️

I think its the appraisal process that has stopped me but I should just do it. Hello! I have the Cartier cleaning solution that comes in the spray bottle. I rarely use it. I have a cleaning video on my channel where I show the solution I use (it's from Amazon). For everyday cleaning I only use dishwashing liquid diluted with water and a soft brush to clean the jewelry. I then polish with a soft cloth. For my love bracelet, I use an impregnated cloth. I use a diamond cloth as well for diamonds and I have another cloth for silver and gold. All of them are from Amazon. Tiffany gifts me a kit sometimes and I'll use it too. I guess what I'm saying is you don't have to buy the Cartier stuff. Lol. I will share the videos below.

I would say match your earrings and necklace (unless you wear layered necklaces, you can mix the necklaces). Then for bracelets, alternate if you wear a stack. Rings you can alternate too. I think the important thing is to really mix and not just have one or two of one metal then 6 of the other. That's too contrasting. Hope this helps. ✨✨
Sorry did you just liken palladium to less superior jewellery? I just want to point out that palladium now far exceeds gold on in value and is extremely rare. It had been suppressed by governments because they want us to believe that gold is the most precious. Have a look at the palladium trade market.
It is rare, but the material is not as durable as platinum, diamond etc. It is pretty scratch and tarnish resistant if treated well and if it is pure (not mixed with other metals). I have done my research. I'm referring to the durability and longevity of materials here. ✨
I thought so too, although palladium is still classified as fine jewellery, because durability is not the definition of "fine". If it were, defined by that standard, then 24 carat gold would not be classified as fine either, given it is too soft to craft into wearable jewels. And emeralds for example are so soft that they are not even suitable for an ultrasonic. So I was a bit confused too when Jodi said that, as she framed it in the context of defining what fine jewellery is, and then went on exclude palladium from this.
Very good point here. Pure palladium pieces are fine (like wedding bands), but what I've been finding is costume pieces with very little palladium and a high percentage of other non-fine metals, then finished with artificial gems. I could have explained that better in retrospect. Thanks! 💕

I started my collection a few years ago my first purchase was a D diamond that was internally flawless in an 18kt Henri Daussi setting. I also found a site that only sells VS diamonds that are F or G for really good prices and they are all handmade.

Tiffanys will give you tiny plastic backings to hold the hoops in place. Get the smaller ones - they may look too small but they fit snugly to give you piece of mind. I never wear my hoops without them.
These aren't that type of closure though. One end pushes into the next. Thanks for sharing. ✨

The backing is so tiny you can't even see it because it snugs up Close to the back of your ear. I am more of an estate and antique girl myself but i am loving being introduced to some more modern styles from classic houses. I never would have glanced twice at roberto coin before you and now im obsessed. I love textured gold and his craftsmanship is insane. I have some insane victorian and belle epoque pieces and a few art deco beauties like an original white gold setting from the 20s with punchthrough delicate filigree all around the band and original side diamonds and saphires...the center stone was missing. I chose a stunning padparaska pink sapphire for my own nod to cartier art deco. It came out absolutely stunning!!!!

Jodi can you share your perspective on jewelry insurance for an entire collection? I use Jewelers Mutual for my most costly pieces and likely should add more pieces, but not sure how to gauge what to cover vs what not to cover. Meaning, what makes sense to cover vs what doesn’t. So far, I’ve covered anything over $3k, but should I add more pieces? Also I have had trouble finding a local appraiser to appraise my entire collection,so that’s a real stumbling block for me, since I have a lot of vintage pieces. I’ve never had to make a claim but I’ve heard great things about Jewelers Mutual since they only insure jewelry. I don’t really have any friends or family with a collection commensurate to mine who systematically manages their collection as you do, so I don’t have someone else to ask about an insurance strategy. Totally understand if you feel cannot discuss insurance or whatever on this public forum but my guess is you likely have a great strategy in place! So Any thoughts would be appreciated! -Jenny
Hey Jenny. As far as mine go, I have group insurance for items that are not that expensive. They all go in a pool together. Because the thing is, if you don't insure your 1k, 2k pieces but you wear multiple pieces together, or store or travel with multiple pieces, you run the risk of losing several things at once. So while $1000 may not seem worth insuring. If you lost 4 pieces worth $1000 each you have to replace them all for $4000. So that's my logic about that. Hope this helps. ❤️

I think its the appraisal process that has stopped me but I should just do it. Hello! I have the Cartier cleaning solution that comes in the spray bottle. I rarely use it. I have a cleaning video on my channel where I show the solution I use (it's from Amazon).
For everyday cleaning I only use dishwashing liquid diluted with water and a soft brush to clean the jewelry. I then polish with a soft cloth. For my love bracelet, I use an impregnated cloth. I use a diamond cloth as well for diamonds and I have another cloth for silver and gold. All of them are from Amazon. Tiffany gifts me a kit sometimes and I'll use it too.
I guess what I'm saying is you don't have to buy the Cartier stuff. Lol. I will share the videos below.

I have such an issue mixing metals. How do you make it look nice?
I would say match your earrings and necklace (unless you wear layered necklaces, you can mix the necklaces). Then for bracelets, alternate if you wear a stack. Rings you can alternate too.
I think the important thing is to really mix and not just have one or two of one metal then 6 of the other. That's too contrasting.

Sorry did you just liken palladium to less superior jewellery? I just want to point out that palladium now far exceeds gold on in value and is extremely rare. It had been suppressed by governments because they want us to believe that gold is the most precious. Have a look at the palladium trade market.
It is rare, but the material is not as durable as platinum, diamond etc. It is pretty scratch and tarnish resistant if treated well and if it is pure (not mixed with other metals). I have done my research. I'm referring to the durability and longevity of materials here. ✨
I thought so too, although palladium is still classified as fine jewellery, because durability is not the definition of "fine". If it were, defined by that standard, then 24 carat gold would not be classified as fine either, given it is too soft to craft into wearable jewels. And emeralds for example are so soft that they are not even suitable for an ultrasonic. So I was a bit confused too when Jodi said that, as she framed it in the context of defining what fine jewellery is, and then went on exclude palladium from this.
Very good point here. Pure palladium pieces are fine (like wedding bands), but what I've been finding is costume pieces with very little palladium and a high percentage of other non-fine metals, then finished with artificial gems. I could have explained that better in retrospect. Thanks! 💕
