  • “Song of the Raven - An Inuit Tale of Harmony with Nature” is a children's picture book (suitable for all 4 - 8 year olds) written and illustrated by Amanda Hall, with a foreword by Kelly Berthelsen. Published in April 2024 by Wisdom Tales.
This story is based on Raven myths from Alaska, intricately woven from themes that are part of ancient Inuit mythology, belief, and culture. In the story, Raven lives in his own sky-world above our own. One day Raven flies down to Earth through a sky hole where, at first joyously, he fills the world with creatures. But soon Raven is made angry by mankind, because humans are not treating the Earth or its inhabitants as they should. He steals the sun, hiding it from the people, causing the Earth to freeze in endless night. But in his flight from mankind Raven sheds a single feather, and that is where this story of fear, then hope, for the survival of the Earth begins…
The themes of the book include the need to show respect for the Earth and all its creatures.
The dramatic illustrations in this picture book were created by hand - using pencil crayon and watercolour inks. They fill the whole of each spread, with the text flowing across the images.
The special soundtrack for the video was created by Amanda and her partner.
Copies of the book, signed by the author, are available here www.amandahall...
