I think that “boss guy” is his father and the whole fight is a difficult conversation
Exactly right. You can see in the coins he throws its a parent passing the hat to their kid. He wants Gildedguy to be in the same position he is and be successful, but it's not what GG wants, and boss eventually accepts that and let's him explore the world.

Not only that but he was hoping to have him take up his job as it was both well off and he got to work with him. The chair wrapped up is a gift for GG and I think his birthday
However GG dreamed for something else and he was going to reach that dream no matter what. His dad wasn’t trying to be cruel but honest. Still, he decided to help GG follow his dreams and we can see a hint in the credits that he feels grateful for the support he got from him

For story 0, the boss guy is guilded guy's father (my life is a lie if i got this wrong). It's the story of him leaving a comfortable life and guaranteed success for a life of adventure and thrill, a life that would bring him many struggles but one that he would not regret. The dad stopping him is just being a good dad wanting to give his son a good life until Guilded decided that is not the life he wants.
Story 1 and a few more stories is him going places in search for that mysterious star and getting into trouble because fighting is the core of the stickmen animation and Hyun's dojo community so of course Guilded guy gets to fight.
The storys is up your imagination but story zero is 100% what you said
Yeah and also at 8:27 GG has the bosses pic with “RIP” on it and personally I think it would be weird to have your dead bosses pic in your house but a relative maybe someone in your household you spent around 15-18 years with that would make sense

As a supporter and friend of Michael (GildedGuy) for close a decade now, I always love when other people recognize his work and show it to others. Thank you for showing this off.
Something that has always boggled my mind is how good he is at action choreography especially since the majority of his work is done by him alone minus some cleanup and assistance on a few projects.
My guy you gotta watch the credits. He usually puts more story after the songs. Like in Story #0 that corpo boss guy is his dad and his mom is there too. And that friend he made in the basement is a girl named Penny. Also most of these characters are other stick figure artists' characters, his friends from places like Hyun's Dojo and Newgrounds. And sometimes they are the ones drawing.
I have been following Gildedguy since I discovered Newgrounds as a child. And he is just amazing. The music and fights just go so well together and the addition of these fun stories with deeper real life meanings just mix so well with everything else, even though there is not one word of dialogue.
There is actually a Hyun's Dojo colab lore from back in the day. Where stick figure animators collabed to create fights, stories and whole tournaments. Stay with me now this is gonna be on test come Story #7.
This series is actually so insane and so much talent put into it! Is unbelievable how unknown they are.

In Story #2, Jade is the on of the leaders of Clan Nemesis, a very popular group in the stick figure community and Hyun's dojo Community, after he had a little too many samples, she challenged him in front of everyone to test him. After the fight, she was still salty from losing and therefore sent the rest of the clan members after him.
All of the cameos in the animation include popular animator's characters and more members from the Hyun's Dojo Community. A CZcams channel and now mainly discord server to showcase different animator's work. We had a website, but it was recently taken down in favor to build a better one, due the old one running on code that was over 15 years old and caused the site to run at the pace of dying old man 😔

gildedguy is part of hyun's dojo, which was and is a collection of creators that make stick-people-fight content since the early days of youtube. with their heyday being i think the mid 2000's.

a little bit lore about gildedguy, the first part of the animation is about gildedguy fighting against his dad about his wants of adventures instead of living a safe and rich lifestyle that his father wants to give him.
and its important to note that he is related to his father cause like his father, gildedguy has his father powers.
that being the ability to control gold itself, thats what his armor is made off and thats how he like freshens it up and kinda repairs it a tiny bit during the jade fighting sequence but unlike his dad gildedguy seems to not be that good or have that much power in controlling gold other then make his armor shinier and repair it a little bit, and also about the thing of extending his sword making it super long and big and then bringing it back to normal size.
if you want to know what the ability is called its something like gold creation / ferrokinesis (metal manipulation).
though thats not the full extend of gildedguy powers, gildedguy main power is his neon ink manipulation which is the thing that painted and turned his eyes a different color and also the thing that connected his welder helmet from his first ever job under his father to combine with his father gold.
even though his father resisted his son dreams for what he believed to be a better future for him, it also served as his son invaluable protection in his future fights such as when he fought his against jade, which makes gildedguy armor not just his powers alone but also representing his father legacy that helps him move forward to find the star.
hope that explained to some of you about gildedguy powers and a bit of his lore without spoiling you too much.

for those that are confused on where in the video it states that the figure is both his father and his manager, if you go to story 0.
you can see in the end credit scene gilded guy calling both the figures pa and ma on the potraits and also it ends with "thanks for watching... over me" which is a quote towards the viewers forth wall breaking and also in lore towards his father.
also the entire sequence also has golds about how gildedguy will inherit his father fortune and become the strongest and wealthiest individual in the whole nation, with the biggest house, beautiful wife, richest beyond imagination and everybody serving him but gilded guy in his vision is depressed that he never gone to his adventure and his father potrait as RIP meaning that in the future if gilded guy decided not to go.
also if you watch the end of story 0 again and look at his father, the thing that made his father let go of him was that his father couldnt see that star in question but he could see in his son eyes the vision of the star and thats the thing that let him finally open the door and let his son go to adventure and wishing him good luck on it.

Actually, alot of characters you see in the serie are OCs from the stickman fighting community, i watched guilded guys when i was younger and it just came out, it got recommended cause back then i watched like alot of stickman fighting animation with dojo and other stuff so it was rlly cool to see so many characters i knew in a new serie
The “boss guy” is butter boy’s (another name for guildedguy) father, the red person with the hat is a girl, and the intros of butter boy drawing is him telling stories of his adventures

I had hoped you'd wander upon gildedguy... and man i'm happy that you did!
little tip: watch till the end, there is often something during AND after the credits (and you did miss a LOT with the story zero credits skipped)
some lore points for the first clip, the video is basically Gilded's father wanting his son to succeed him in being the boss of the whole place (in which it seems your headwear shows what job you do, while he'd rather follow his own dreams.... the end credits state outright that its his dad, and you can see that he had a seat next to his own in a gift wrapper while Gilded was picking his career... hence his disappointment at first when he saw Gilded decided on something else than succeeding him
overall the dad has good intentions... he is just wrong about what's best for his son. the people in this place are genuinely happy and payed heaps for what they do with plenty of leisure time on top... but what Gilded wants simply isnt something he can find here (note the star he chases appears on the carpet at the start alongside weapon icons while the professions he can choose are instead on the painting, he wants to be a knight but there are no fighters whatsoever in this city-building)
lastly... oboi youa re NOT ready for the next one in the serie...
To really understand the gildedguy lore it helps to know the RHG universe and what happened in the past 15 years
I have been a fan of his since I saw Slush Wars, I am happy that other creators and people love his videos as well. The final episode of his series came two weeks ago and I was in awe the whole time. I am happy I got to watch to the end.
The guy in the hard hat is Gildedguy's father. He owns a plantation of some kind and wants to pass it onto GG, as signified by the silver hard hat he tries to get GG to accept, but GG decided to become a worker instead. He really just wants the best for him, enough to financially support him for the rest of his life. But when GG is adamant about his dream, the star, his father couldn't see it. Even so, he let him go because he sees the star reflected in GG's eyes.
That scene where they look down at all the people is to highlight that it's not wrong to want a normal life, that it can also be a good life. GG doesn't demonize that kind of life at all, it just isn't for him.
In the after-credits scene, he leaves a final message for his parents, it's very sweet.
Honestly my favorite is the Green-Eyed Cowboy. Love the message and the different styles it uses. Plus the choreography is fire (though it is in all of them).

I'm sad he didn't get to Bog and Green--Eyed Cowboy. Besides story 0 which was created after the first 3, I think 4 and 5 really set the stage for the kinds of stories Michael wanted to tell through GildedGuy and really showcase his incredible attention to both action choreography as well as story beyond stick figures fighting with cool music.
Not to mention it's more impressive when you realize he fronts the vast majority of the work on his projects solo, documented on livestream, but he still brings in help through the friends he's made in the stick fighting community to assist with things like color, cleanup and some animation segments.
If Nux revisits GG, (Which I really think he should) I think he will be blown away by the level of quality output coming from the stories onward in the series as they all sit among story 0 as the bar for story entries.
Speaking of indie animation, it would be very cool if you continue on the Spooky Month reactions, They very much do indeed get better as it goes on

As someone who's been following GG before Story 0 even came out, its funny to see him realize that GG is actually an artist and this is his art lol (He's using a magic pen XD). But great insight though as well as the rest throughout the series. Hope to see more from ya!

GG is a master of show not tell in both his story and their meanings
Story 1 and 2 are more for fun with also a respect for others shown in the latter, but from 3 and onwards (0 too but that came after 6) actually explores both his passions and his struggles with it.
Basement Busk overall showed putting passion into his project was more meaningful than focusing on the profit that came with it. He still appreciates it as we see in the end but he’s more focused now on being passionate of what he does.
GG gets up followed more of how he got here, obviously, but I’m sure also showed some of the obstacles he had to climb to eventually start his journey, in this case it was his job that was limiting his dream and his parents who were reluctant on letting him follow them, not out of spite but because they do want what’s best for him. In the end his father allows him to go and even show’s his support for his decision, quite literally as he gives him some money to start off, and in the credits we do see GG very much appreciates his parents support very much.
Also, you missed out on how he got his sword and pen in the credits. You don’t need to but it does help build a bit more. In fact, there will be more post credit scenes that could be skipped but are very meaningful.

First of all, thank you for reacting to this amazing artist. He's super underrated, and having someone like you react might bring some more attention to him. If you continue to react to this series, try to keep in mind that there is a lot of symbolism in these stories, so if something is confusing at first, just know it probably has some meaning to it.
This is a bit complicated, but it will help you understand what's happening. Huyn's dojo isn't one person or even a team. It's more of an animation community that mostly focuses on stick figure animation. Anyone can submit a video, and it could be put on the channel. Gildedguy is one of these people. While he does have a team of people who help with his animations, Gildedguy is the main person behind them.
In Gildedguy's animations, most of the characters that appear in them are actually characters made by other people in the hyun's dojo community, who all have their own series, stories, and animations. So, every episode is actually a crossover in a way.
I could get more detailed going into what dojo duels are and cier, but they aren't really necessary to understand the Gildedguy stories.
This has nothing to do with the “gildedguy” series but you should also look up “invincibility knight” it’s like 2 minutes so long but it won gildedguy a stick figure community contest which he apparently spent some of that money on corn dogs.
I’m glad you enjoyed these nux, but what if I told you all of gildedguy’s stuff is merely a small part of a larger and years long story. Look up rock hard gladiators or hyun’s dojo, can’t guarantee you will see everything but you will find a lot. And no it’s not his imagination, he likes telling stories and does it through his drawings

Best thing about these GuildedGuy Story episodes is that they're like MrBean, they can be enjoyed by EVERYONE around the world cause they dont rely on words but gestures and actions. Ones ability to pick up on what happening is the biggest draw.

nux there is much in any gildedguy animation than you see. analyze like adventure time but not for lore, for symbols on the nose. such as the dreams being stars it is obvious.

gildedguy spends alot of time on each video to make sure it's perfect, even getting help from other stick figure animators to help with rendering, clean ups, story boarding, everything. You will not find a bad gildedguy video. He also released Story 8 before Mother's Day and it's also worth the watch!
I appreciate you checking this out. I always have felt Gildedguy is a classic pillar of CZcams indie animation that's never really talked about. Quick note: these videos have "post credit" scenes to flesh out some story. The most relevant one here is in Story 0, where the top of his magic paint brush breaks off and makes up the green 'pen' he uses in Story 3 onward.

The first episode shows that the foreman he was fighting was his father and that it was his dream that gildedguy would grow up to be like him, hence the coin showing the young gildedguy with the foreman, which is why he offered gildedguy a promotion in the form of that new hard hat which he turned down
I'd advise that you stick around when the credits are rolling or scroll and skip to when there's after credits on it, it's vital to how the story and lore connects with it's future installments so it's not gonna be confusing on how "Point A" gets to "Point B" in the first place like the after credits of Story 0, shows how he got his sword and Green Pen before getting a flyer about Fry's. Though peak content tho, I love that you managed to check out this masterpiece! :)

Gilded guy is one of the top stick fight animators still around since the Old days of RHG. It's also worth checking out the Umbrella series and other animations made by Resh.
This show is so cool. The animation, the story, this is so cool. The fights are like final boss fights in anime, or Optimus v Megatron final fight, without others getting involved. 😅I read nemesis and my brain immediately went to the decepticon warship, anyone else?
